Here you go, one more chapter. It's proofread now, credit to Avenue and Mek for the awesome pr version.
Thank you for reading this and sorry, no action for awhile :p
2nd job quest change to class upgrade quest because class and job was different in the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leading an unemployed life, Daniel’s training and gaming time increased, although his savings keep on decreasing. He did submit job applications and was currently waiting for responses.
Few jobs could fit in with Daniel’s gaming life. If worse comes to worse, Daniel thought of selling his in game money for real life money. Unfortunately that will only obstruct his future plan.
Aiming for the Emperor’s seat, Chrono’s current resources was not enough and that worried Daniel. Another worry for him was his class as a merchant.
He did everything to make his class could survive any combat situation and somehow, he succeed with a few tricks. Unfortunately, Daniel does not know how much he can achieved with his current self.
‘Spear Throw’ skill could easily dodged unless he fight less experienced fighter or he used ambushed elements. Skill like ‘Shadow Ghost’ can be countered easily if users found out that he was vulnerable to magic while in ghost form.
If Grave broked, his ‘Soul Necromancer’ class was revoke and he need to kill a lot before he could regain Grave. If something like this happened again, in the future, Daniel could only think of hiding.
The most dangerous thing for Daniel in combat was getting hit. His merchant class does not allow him to wear better armor leaving him with near to zero defense with just normal cloth.
He was fine until now but later if he fought higher level users, he may die from a single hit. The dexterity status only allows him to move faster, a careless move in crucial moment means game over.
That was why Daniel needed to train more. His body and his mind needs to be perfect for every situation. In the abandoned building, Daniel closed his eyes while swinging his swords.
He needed to focus, everytime he swung his sword, vital spot should be hit. Once he dodged he must find room for a counter. He needed to watch his enemies every move to anticipate their next movement.
“(No waste movements!)”
Daniel continued to swing his sword, his breathing align together with his sword swing. Fighting with many enemies relying solely on swords was foolish. He kicked and he punched when he needed to, utilizing every part of his body to fight.
He exerted just enough strength for every movement to save his stamina. He calmed his mind like a water in the pond. Every small rippled he felt drew his attention. He aimed for the center of ripple, he slashes through the ripple with his sword.
Focus.
Focus.
Focus!
His fighting essence was a focused mind. His character does not have enough strength, he needed to hit all the vital points for extra damage. He needed to anticipate his enemy’s next move as his speed and defense are not godlike.
A single wrong move may bring him to his demise, a single missed attack may cause his opponent to win the fight. Focusing the entire time was the only way for him.
Just like this, Daniel continue his sword practice. As if he was dancing, Daniel swings his sword for an hour.
“(Now, time to train that skill.)”
Daniel put on the suits and the headgears used for the fighting simulations. This time he choose to fight a weaker monster to fight, ‘Soulless Warrior’.

His instinct told him that he need the skill for a better survivability. The last failure does not make him to give up, instead, he trained harder to master the skill.
********
Just outside of Kramoris mountain range, northwest of Mafoso, there was the ‘Borris Quarries’. The place between ‘Boris Quarries’ and Kramoris mountain range was a forest that only allowed the inhabitants of low level monsters.
Users in Emperor Saga called this kind of place a hidden newbie hunting ground. It was mainly because the outer rim of the area was surrounded by monsters around level 150.
In the middle of ‘Borris Quarries’ there was a pit hole as big as a city and almost seems bottomless. Inside, echoed the snoring sound of an extremely dangerous beast.
The reason this place having low amount of vicious monster was simple. The pit hole in the middle of ‘Borris Quarries’ was a mountain dragon nests.
The dragon always remained ignorance on his surrounding, but it will suddenly attack monsters if he felt like it. For smaller low level monster, the dragon often leave them alone.
In the middle of the ‘Boris Forest’, a users wearing a skull mask unmounted himself from his drake.
“(Hmm...I guess this place was fine.)”
Once he was ready, Chrono open eleven portals to summon his goblin slaves. Before leaving for the class upgrade quest, Chrono want his slaves to be fully ready. To prepare for a more challenging task, Chrono decide to train his slaves in combat.
“Listen, today I want you guys to train for combat until you can defend yourself in here, ‘Boris Forest’. You need to be able to defend yourself before you can proceed to the next task.”
“”””Yes, Master.””””
“Firstly, divide yourself in five men party. Then, try to attack a single ‘clawed rabbit’ with your party.”
“””Yes, Master!”””
“MASTER, HOW ABOUT ME?”
“You just train with your sword for the time being.”
“YES!! I WILL TRAIN MY SWORD TEN THOUSAND TIME A DAY!!”
*sigh*
“(He doesn’t need to be so excessive.)”
Chrono knew goblin Kai can easily beat newbie monster alone. He decide to focus on the other goblin first before he train goblin Kain personally.
While leaving goblin Kai with his training, Chrono briefed over the two party of five goblin. He set the battle formation and strategy before their first battle.
The first party consist of goblin Ai,Bai,Cai,Dai and Ei with goblin Ai act as the leader. As for the second party, it was lead by goblin Fai with goblin Gai, Hai, Iai and Jai following the lead.
“Ai party, fight the clawed rabbit over there and Fai party, attack the horn rabbit over there.”
Both parties, Ai and Fai nervously entered their first battled. Like Chrono instructed, each party having three goblin fighting in front with their knife while the other two assist with the bow from the rear.
With goblin Kai’s parent chemistry, goblin Ai’s party finishes the battle sooner while goblin Fai’s party struggle finishing the battle.
“(Hmm…. I guess chemistry really played an important part, goblin Ai and goblin Ei chemistry make it their party won the fight easily.)”
To avoid casualties, Chrono decide to play it safe by letting each party to only fight one low level monster at one time. If there were more, Chrono would leave one before killing the rest.
After every encounter, Chrono would carefully monitor his slaves’ health before proceeding with the next encounter. To maximize their fighting potential, the slaves’ positions were swapped after every battle.

*huf* *huf* *huf*
“Hmm….I guess you guys can take a break now.”
Once Chrono saw his slaves’ stamina reached its limit, he would cooked for his slaves with goblin Kai assistance. After the break, Chrono continued his slaves’ training cycle until he felt confident on the goblin’s fighting prowess.
“Hyah!’
“Hyah!”
Waaggh!
Uherrks!!
“(Ai’s party were better, but Fai’s party does not need much monitoring anymore.)”
When Chrono felt confidence with the goblins fighting ability, Chrono took goblin Kai to fight the monsters. Instead of fighting in a party, goblin Kai was told to fight solo.
“FOOLISH CREATURE!!”
wragh!!
“(Like I thought, he can hold his ground against low level monster.)”
The combat training continued until noon. Chrono decide to transport back his slaves to the secret warehouse. Instead of the hideout, now the goblins were living in the secret warehouse.
“THANK YOU, MASTER!!”
Only goblin Kai was lively enough to say farewell to Chrono before he transport them back to the secret warehouse. Before logging out himself, Chrono decide to grind a bit by hunting the higher level monster outside of ‘Boris Forest’.
******
On the second days, the goblins were strong enough to defend against monsters in ‘Boris Forest’. Chrono decide he would proceed his plan as he does not need to worry about the goblins safety anymore.
“Here, each one of you take these materials.”
Chrono gave eached of his slaves a stick , a small half moon shape blade and a ‘woodcutting skill scroll’.
“Master, what are we going to do with these?”
“ Use it to craft a wooden axe and learn woodcutting skill, we need to cut some woods in this forest.”
Crafting simple things like wooden axe would gave Chrono near to zero crafting experience. Instead of crafting it for his slaves, Chrono decide to raised his slaves crafting skills by letting them to craft.
“(This will benefit me later when I need to mass produce high level items.)”
After taking much time, the slaves finally finished their inferior crafting work. They have poor crafting skill but at least, none of them ruin their material like goblin Kai did.
“HOW CAN THIS BE?!”
“........Here, make another one.”
Goblin Kai craft his own cloth, sword, bow and arrows. It was a great mystery to Chrono on why the goblin cannot craft a simple wooden axe. After ruining ten wooden axe crafting materials, Chrono gave up.
“MY APOLOGIES, I WILL TRAINED TEN THOUSAND TIME A DAY TO FIX THIS WEAKNESS OF MINE.”
“No, just act as the guard while your kin cut the woods.”
“YES, MASTER!”
The woodcutting skill he gave his slaves earlier enable his slaves to cut the wood faster.
While his slaves cut the woods, Chrono took out a stick and an iron ore. Using his mini furnace, he smelt the iron ore before he forged it to a half moon shape blade.
Chrono then attached the blade with the stick using three wooden nail. For a comfortable swing, the stick length was a third of Chrono’s arms while the axe blade length was the same as Chrono’s face.
Excellent wooden axe :
A proof of an excellent craftsmen. The poor materials brought to a maximum potential by the maker.
Attack : 15 Durability : 50
Just for having a lumberjack feeling, Chrono takes off his upper body cloth, showing his toned muscles. In Emperor Saga, having body muscles was a warrior trait since the body muscles developed from investing strength status.
Chrono current appearance was like a fighter type warrior in training instead of someone in merchant class. If he said he was a merchant with his current appearance, no one would believed him.
Chrono take out ‘woodcutting skill scroll’ before he used it and joined his slaves cutting the wood. With his excellent wooden axe craft and higher strength status, Chrono can cut the woods ten times faster than his slaves.
Chrono and his slaves work hard doing the woodcutting while goblin Kai patrolling around the forest protecting his kin from monsters.
“ANYONE WHO DARES TOUCHING MY MASTER OR MY KIN WILL FACE MY WRATH!!”
All the fallen logs were brought to the same location. The goblins worked together to lift the logs. For the bigger logs, they used Thorin to transport it.
Chrono alone can moved the smaller logs, middle sized logs Chrono used goblin Kai helped while a big logs needed Thorin to move it.
Trting!!
Woodcutting skill level up
*phew*
“(I guess it’s time for a break.)”
Like usual, Chrono cooked with goblin Kai assist in break time. The ingredient was the monsters his slaves hunted earlier.
‘Clawed rabbit meat’, ‘horned rabbit meat’ and ‘winged rabbit meat’. Chrono properly marinated the meat with spices before he cut the meat as thin as an ‘A4 paper’.
With the mini stoves, Chrono cooked the meat until it was properly cooked and getting a crunchy feeling. Goblin Kai helped with the food serving once the ‘meat jerky’ was done.
“Now, time to eat.”
“Thank you, master!”
“GOD BLESS OUR MASTER.”
With the rise of the goblins stamina, the time between breaks getting longer. Now they were strong enough to solo monsters in ‘Boris Forest’ making goblin Kai guarding job near useless.
“.....Kai, take this wooden axe and help us.”
“NO”
“What?!”
“ I WILL CUT THE WOODS, MY WAY.”
Goblin Kai walked towards the nearest tree.About ten feet from the tree, goblin Kai stop walking before he take a nostalgic stance. Holding his swords high with both of his hand, goblin Kai unleashed his skill towards the tree.
‘Sonic Slash’
boom!
The skill leaved a big horizontal mark to the tree although it was far from getting cutted. Using a sword skill to cut a tree was ridiculous. A stamina consumed by using a sword skill would make it easier to get tired and simply not effective for something like woodcutting.
Despite of being his slave, goblin Kai had its own pride. Unlike his kin, he sometimes ignored Chrono orders although his loyalty was unquestionable. When goblin Kai made up his mind, Chrono simply gave up as he knew goblin Kai knew what best for him.
“Just do what you want.”
“THANK YOU, MASTER!”
Chrono and his slaves continued their woodcutting job. Goblin Kai joining didn’t help them much as he passed out after every two trees he had cut down.
As Emperor Saga was almost like the real world, the good weather combine with all day hard labors bring sweats to their body. As the repetitive labors continued, it was noon before anyone realized it.
Chrono swing his wooden axe as if he wanted to have slain a thousand users. Ferociously powerful, but just enough to bring down the trees.
woosh!
wooosh!
kraaakkk….
boom!
trting!!
Your woodcutting skill level up
By continuously using your strength, your strength increase by 1
*phew*
“(I guess it is time to set the camp.)”
Before the sunset, Chrono told his slaves to stop before he used the portals and take all the logs they accumulate to the secret warehouse.
Instead of sending back the goblins to the secret warehouse, Chrono gave the goblins various task to set up a camp.
The slaves was divided by pair and each pair were given a different tasked. Gathering firewoods, taking up waters, setting up the tent, hunting for foods, and foraging local herbs.
Goblin Kai and Chrono repairing the slaves and their own equipment while the slaves doing the tasks. Since goblin Kai recklessly used his swords to cut the woods, he needed to do a thorough repairing to his copper sword.
Once everyone finished their task, Chrono told his slaves to cook their own food. For survival, cooking was an essential skill. Chrono can’t let his slaves cook before since they were easily get tired.
Now, as they were having plenty of stamina left to spare, Chrono decide to let the slaves cooked themselves. Acting as the head chef, goblin Kai helped his kin cooked.
“Master! The food is ready!”
“No thanks, I’m full.”
“OKAY, LET’S EAT THEN.”
“........................”
*blergh!*
As they had tasted a great food cooked by their master, the goblins can’t swallowed their own horrible foods. Too afraid to ask their master to cook, the goblins slept in their tent while their stomach kept on growling.
With bonfire and monster repellent sprinkled by Chrono around the camp, the camp was safe from monsters attack in nighttime. Chrono went to grind his level outside of ‘Boris Forest’ before he logged out.
*******
For his ambitious project, Chrono needed massive amount of lumbers and bricks. Thanks to his slaves, collecting wooden log was ten times faster compared to him doing it alone.
On the second days of woodcutting, Chrono and his slaves manages to collect massives number of wooden logs thanks to their newly risen woodcutting skill.
The repetitive cycle of woodcutting labors made their strength, stamina and endurance rise a few times. By the end of the day, Chrono had successfully increased his strength, stamina and endurance by four while his slaves increase it by ten.
When Chrono noticed the difference in stats increase, he can’t help but felt jealous. He knew monster type race can easily increase their physical strength compared to humanoid type races, but as he saw the massives difference, he can’t help to feel jealous.
“(Pfftt! I should choose monster type race when I first started this game.)”
By noon, Chrono felt the wooden logs collected was enough. He brought all the wooden logs to the secret warehouse using the portal before he command his slaves to set up the camps.
“Master, the food were ready.”
“You guys can eat without me.”
“MASTER TOLD US TO JUST EAT. LET US EAT THEN.”
“..................”
“””BleArgH!!”””
“(They still were dimwits.)”
As the goblins went to sleep, Chrono crafted a few heavy spears before he called it a day.
*********
By sunrise, Chrono woke the goblins up soon after he logged in. He gave his slaves a stick and a pointed blade to craft a pickaxe. This time, Chrono want the goblins to collected stones from “Borris Quarries’.
‘Borris quarries’ have near to zero monsters due to the mountain dragon living there. The mountain dragon also scared away users that wanting to collected the stone in the quarries.
Despite of the danger, Chrono brought his slaves to collect stones in the quarries. Other quarries in North Continent was either filled with high level monsters or filled with users collecting stones.
Knowing the danger, Chrono equipped every goblins with ‘Fake Death’ skill for survival. He and his slaves also learned pickaxe skill for faster stone collecting.
“Listen, once you guys saw the dragon, quickly used ‘Fake Death’.”
“Yes, Master!.”
“THAT COWARDLY, MASTER.”
“...............Goblin Kai.”
“YES, MASTER?”
“Go train yourself in ‘Borris Forest’.
“YES, MASTER!! I WILL TRAIN WITH MY LIFE ON THE LINE!!.”
Just to be safe, Chrono instructed goblin Kai to train his swordsmanship in ‘Borris Forest’ instead of collecting stones in the quarries.
Like woodcutting, collecting stone was another repetitives tasked. The stones was brought to the same places, small stones were transport by the goblins alone while middle size stones takes a little of teamwork. To transported bigger stone, Thorin strength was used.
*Phew*
Pickaxe skill level increase
By doing continuous labor work, stamina, strength and endurance increase by one
“Hey, did you guys tired already?”
“We are still not tired master.”
With the goblins rapid stats increase, the time between break was longer and the labor works get faster.Their chemistry with each other also increased due to rapid tasks that need teamwork. The only thing delaying their work was the mountain dragon threats.
“ROAR!!”
‘Fake Death’
Everytime the mountain dragon approached, Chrono and his slaves immediately faked their deaths. Chrono ‘Fear Death’ skill was helpful since he could sense the dragon miles away, he could quickly signaled his slaves to get ready before the dragon could came near.
By noon, they returned to the ‘Borris Forest’ to set up a camp. The cycle of stone collecting continues until Chrono decide it was enough two days later. By the time they finished the stone collecting, Chrono stamina, strength and endurance increased by five while his goblins, including goblin Kai have increased it by twelves.
“Now, time for the big project!”

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)
After a long recovery over a chronic motion sickness issue, I feel I'm ready to return to writing this book. It might be slow at first, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off. I apologize again for the long hiatus. The pages following are a true account. An account of how I, Josh--a teenage nerd from modern suburbia--ended up in a strange world filled with fantastic magic, bizarre creatures, and terrifying dungeons. Despite the troped-up fantasy feel of the world, this is hardly an ordinary tale. For one, don’t expect a happy ending. With the trials I’ve been through, the horrors I’ve seen and the atrocities I’ve committed, believe me when I tell you, this is not a happy tale filled with friendly rainbow bears or teenage flying unicorns. It’s more likely you’ll finish this book mentally scarred as I will not spare the details of my unfortunate adventures. With the help of my trusted companion Gui, I gain an insight that no one else in the world has. This knowledge allows me to exploit and, for lack of a better term, metagame the system which gave me a clear advantage over its residents. “With great power...,” someone might begin to quote to me. In my defense, I think maybe even you, reader, might have acted similarly with how this reality changed my view of good and evil. This story will be updated regularly on Wednesdays around 6 PM. There will only be about 1000 words per update. The focus is to finish the story before doing any major changes or editing. Please read as if this is a work in progress, not a finished product. Feel free to let me know if you see any error, whether glaring or minor. If you help me out, I'll be sure to add you to a thank you list at the front of the book when it is published. Chronicles of Xod is a first-person fantasy novel that follows the adventures of a young man from Earth. Through unknown circumstances, he finds himself in a fantasy world where life is not all wonders and happy endings. The story takes common fantasy concepts from my favorite video games, books and movies and gives them an adult edge. It also introduces some taboo concepts often glossed over by stories written for broad audiences. The style is meant to be immersive and heavily detailed. The short novel will be written in a way that attempts to bring a sense of realism to an unrealistic genre. Where there are realistic consequences and dangers in a world populated with violent monsters, cruel demons, bloodthirsty undead, and immoral bandits. In this fantasy world, the inhabitants are essentially gender blind as far as sexuality is concerned. There is also more variation amongst male and female physiology. This isn't meant to be any kind of promotion or demotion of social behavior in reality. Just a concept I thought would be an interesting idea to have in a fantasy setting. I highly discourage anyone from reading this material if you are personally concerned with being offended or traumatized. Both violent and sexual content will be graphically detailed. All characters involved in sexual scenes are mature and of the age of consent(18+).
