《Entrusted, Didn't Lasted》V. Falling Apart

Not playing hard to get, what she wants was simply just a companion, someone with who she could trust so that she could share all her woes. As she recounted, she initiated most of the conversation but nonetheless had used the wrong technique to keep it alive. Regardless of any type of relationship, it requires both parties to work out. It will be very selfish for one to not care for how the other one feels. Those arguments, no matter how trivial it is, should be resolved either by a phone call or by meeting up in person and not through the worst communication mode - through text.
She knew his sincerity and appreciated those things that he did while they were studying in the same institution. He made her really special and willing to go the extra mile to do all things for her.
He did try to confess his feelings for her but it was purely her internal battle whether to respond in the same way. At that point in time, she decided to neglect him and wanted to wait until graduation to give him the long-awaited answer - "Yes", which she did not have a chance to say, never again.
Time flies when they were together, and it was the happiest time she ever had. During the graduation ceremony, she was delighted and it was a pleasant surprise to see him gowned on the graduation gown. She initially thought he would be enlisting on that day. Through the crowd, he saw her at the first glance. Probably, it will be the final time she will be able to see his smile.
She continuously thought about whether there was any possibility for them to be together. Not wanting to have such unrequited love that was above what friendships were, and somehow had the courage to admit her feelings for him, but to no avail. Till today, he did not have the confidence to open her text messages and letters.

He hesitated. He ghosted. She was not his only option. Probably, it was not the right time to meet her Mr. Right.
It was 14 February 2022. Many couples were celebrating Valentine's Day. On the contrary, it was the day of break up for her.
“Forget about those times we had together. I wish I could find back the same old person that I know who is not that heartless”. She decided to leave him and finally stopped all the efforts trying to contact him.
Her actions, though harsh, she did not have a choice. Whatever reasons she tried to find to convince herself that he was just busy were simply meaningless. Having promised her friends to find back what she used to be, she did not want to fall back to being helpless again.
As much as she did not want to, the outcome was irreversible. Perhaps, it was their destiny to meet, but to give each other a miss. She could not believe her eyes that they ended up as "known" strangers. It was such a pity that the miscommunication and second doubt burnt the bridges which took four years to build.
He will never know how much effort and courage she placed. It is definitely not what she wanted, absolutely not. What she wanted is merely to have someone to support, back her up, and lend a listening ear when she faced any obstacles. "Is it that tough or difficult to achieve?", she questioned herself.
Through this incident, she treats this as a learning opportunity. No one is perfect. Both of them held each other as the priority, but it was too late for them to heal the wound that have been scarred deeply. It was probably his self-doubt when he saw her Instagram post that she shared last Christmas, the key necklace that she wore meant that she belonged to someone else. It was purely her twenty-first birthday gift that her mother gave her. Even though the journey ahead will be tough, if both of them are willing to work it out, it will.

Despite this, she is still a strong believer that no matter how much both parties have drifted apart physically, and are unable to meet up regularly if they could duly communicate their needs and commit to each other, those shared experiences will definitely bind them together.
