"About four times stronger than before, stat and oil-usage-wise, at least..." Lone wiped his sweat from his brow and grinned as he looked at the two decisively skinnier and more human-like metal limbs. "I was finally able to incorporate the strings like he wanted."
Right now, Lone was in his forge in The Glade. It was roughly seven in the morning and he'd left Soph to sleep with their kids as he worked on this.
His mana was rock bottom, so he took out a bunch of recently filled mana orbs and drained them to top himself up. After doing that, he stored Swind's new limbs in his Dimensional Storage then stood up and cracked his neck.
He left the forging building and made his way to Rachel's room in the housing building. Once there, he was greeted by Swind. "Is it today, Mr Immortus?"
Lone's face cramped up slightly and it was filled with sadness once he heard Rachel's groaning, but he put a smile on his face Swind's sake.
He nodded and then took out the new limbs. He showed Swind how to put them on since their sizes were different from the last versions before he said, "We're going right now. Let me reinforce Rachel's soul and renew the binding, then we're off to the Soul Hall. I assume you wanna come with?"
Swind nodded. "Of course. Even if I have to put my head to the ground and beg, I still want to come. Nothing matters more to me than her recovery."

Lone put a hand on his friend's shoulder. "Let me handle everything. You're my back-up muscle, 'kay?" he said with a big grin on his face. "Cover my back if things go south. Y'know, since we can't kill them. We need their skills, after all."
The corners of Swind's lips rose and his exhausted eyes softened slightly. "I want to handle this on my own, but I know I'm not up to the task. This is too important for me to be stubborn. I'll be relying on you, Mr Immortus."
Lone nodded. "Yup. That's what friends are for. Feel free to rely on me more."
"... Of course, Mr Immortus," Swind replied quietly.
Lone and Swind collected Soph, Eolande, George and Scott. Kyuubi and Garadia were both unsummoned while Breena remained hidden in the shadows.
As they were walking down the hotel's stairs, Scott was hounding the ever-patient Swind about his new arm and tail. "They're a lot smaller, but these limbs of yours look a lot more complex than even the clocktower!"
'Clocktower?' Lone thought. 'Right. That massive building... I wasn't paying attention to it last night, but if it really is a clocktower, I have to go check that thing out at some point.'
Swind wore a friendly smile. "Mr Immortus is potentially the best crafter on Altros. It is only natural for his products to be of the best quality."
George nodded his head. "Did he make that sword for you too?"
Lone grinned and answered before the Lemurian could. "Yup. It's Mythic-rated and has the potential to grow an ego. If you kids keep yourselves behaved and don't betray me while we're together, I'll make you all something similar."
Scott was practically salivating at the thought while George was stunned that Lone would even consider creating such powerful tools for them.
Lone pushed his arm out and opened his palm to let the peacefully hovering Saturn land on it. "It's easy to forget this little guy since I have an illusion on it to make it look ordinary, but this baby is my magnum opus. It can't even be rated by the system, it's that powerful."
Eolande smiled coyly. "I like it when you brag as well, Husband."
Soph frowned. "I haven't accepted you yet. Don't flirt with him without my permission," she grumbled.
Eolande just laughed awkwardly and kept quiet.
"Unratable..." George's mind was racing while Scott was practically gushing over the floating ball of death.
The group was soon in the reception area before long. Surprisingly, it was the same member of staff manning the desk as who was there last night. Lone gave him a friendly wave, which was returned by a big and happy - but slightly concerned - smile.
"He's a good guy. Shame not all humans are so open-minded... Eolande," Lone called as they made they way to the building's exit. "I can sense about thirty souls filled with malice. They're all within one-hundred feet of the building's entrance. Do you mind using illusions to make them fuck off? I'm pretty sure they were sent by that Anita woman from last night. Either her, or slavers. I want to talk to her dad before I put her in her place again, and if it's slavers, I don't plan on dealing with them until Rachel is cured."

Eolande raised an eyebrow. "Sure," she replied before she started mumbling chants. A second or two later, and she was finished. "All done. They had weak mental defenses, so I just wiped their memories of being paid to attack us by her. It was her, by the way. Good guess."
"As expected of a mightly double-X-ranker who specialises in illusion magic, huh? Some of those people were B and A-rankers," Lone praised honestly, forcing a small blush to surface on the girl's face.
Soph puffed out her cheeks. "I knew they were there too. I could have dealt with them just as quickly if I used some extra mana to speed up my Teleportation..."
Lone chuckled and rubbed her hair, erasing her pout and making her grin from ear to ear. "I know you could have. I or Swind could have too with our Ascending Auras. Eolande's magic was just the fastest and simplest way for now. It's also the very last chance I'm giving to Anita. If she tries to send people after us again, I will be far less peaceful."
"Okay..." Soph cuddled a few tails and rubbed their exceedingly soft tips against her cheek. Doing so cleansed her heart and made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
George was left speechless by this interaction. 'H-How can he handle two women so flawlessly? If only I could handle one woman, then maybe Emma would actually look at me for a change...'
"So this is the Soul Hall?" Lone asked.
In front of his group was a grand structure that - much like the buildings in the Crimson Foxkin Clan - was distinctly oriental in design. It was a very large building and it was about five-hundred meters squared in size.
A long line of people stretched from the hall's doors all the way down the street. Even though they were in the guild district and many people were going about their mornings, no one seemed to pay any mind to the line that was partially in the way of a few other guilds. It seemed that the queued up people were making a conscious effort to make way if they were blocking a door.
George scratched his cheek. "Yeah. Em, it's always like this. The line's full of people hopeful that one of the soul oracles will spare them some time and maybe hear out their issues. It's really rare, but it happens sometimes, so people come from all over the kingdom to try their luck. After all, soul injuries can't be healed by anyone except for a soul oracle."
"I see." Lone held his chin and thought. 'Breena's aunt and uncle, Tama and Lars, they had a serious soul injury, right? Not even that shitty dragonkin, Elksworth, could heal them easily. So, why are there so many people lined up here? Are such injuries common? No. They must have minor soul damage or something less serious. A lot of the people here look rich, so maybe some don't even have sick loved ones waiting for them. Maybe they just want connections with a famous soul oracle... Hmm...'
Lone walked forward without minding the queue even slightly. Eolande, Soph and Swind didn't hesitate to follow him. George looked conflicted, but a shoulder shrug from Scott told him that it'd be useless to fight back, so the two teens trailed after them.
Many dirty looks fell onto Lone's group. Very few of them cared about him being a demihuman, but they certainly didn't appreciate him jumping in line like this. A lot of them were strong enough to recognise the strength of Lone's group, so they kept silent, but some couldn't hold in their anger and were ignorant of the power wielded by Lone and his friends.
The apprentice soul oracle charged with guarding the entrance and seeing to the guests frowned a bit, but he stayed silent and just folded his arms. He was only a C-ranker, so he didn't want to risk offending these strange people in the event that they were powerful. He'd just wait and see for now.
"Hey, you! Don't cut in line! I've been waiting here for twelve hours! Who're you to just ignore the rules?" a woman dressed in full-plate armour asked as she pointed a finger at Lone. There was no hate in her voice like with Anita. She was merely upset and a bit angry.
Lone could feel that she was actually an S-ranker, and thus, could clearly detect their own ranks. 'She's got balls. Could a normal person stand up to two fellow S-rankers, two A-rankers - thought Breena is hiding her presence, and a double-X-ranker? I guess I should say sorry at least. I am being a little bit rude.'
"My bad. I'm not here to ask to get someone's soul healed, though," Lone explained with a polite tone. 'I'll be the one doing the healing, after all. Like fuck I'll let some stranger mess with Rachel's soul.'
The woman straightened her back and put her hands on her hips. Her long ginger ponytail flopped to the right and her face wore a frown. "Then why're you here, and why're you cutting in line?"
Lone held out his hand. In response, Saturn happily landed on it. He smirked charmingly and said, "Well, I'm a soul oracle, and this little guy here is a tool designed to store souls without any degradation whatsoever. I'm here to learn as well as to make an offer to Mystopolis' Soul Hall that they can't possibly refuse."
The armoured woman's face showed that she didn't believe him, but the apprentice soul oracle guarding the door, well, his countenance contained some mild suspicion, however, hints of excitement could be seen hidden behind his other visible emotions.

The Adventures of Alan
What happens when a university professor somehow ends up in another world, where magic bends the laws of nature? Alan is, albeit unwillingly, about to find out. As a professor of physics, he has a decent understanding of how the world works, or so he likes to think. Armed only with his knowledge, Alan is thrown into a world very different from his own. In his new reality, he will meet both friends and foe, he will seek knowledge, he will build power, and perhaps he will even find love again? Follow Alan through his adventures, and find out for yourselves how he deals with the challenges thrown at him by a new world, while struggling with the issues brought with him from his old one. * Author’s note: A fair warning. This is the first time I’ve published anything, and basically the first time I’ve written anything more than mandatory school-stuff. The story will probably have inconsistencies, grammatical errors (not my native tongue, though that excuse is getting old), and potentially confusing (missing?) plot. I will naturally do my best to write something worth reading, but my main goal in writing this story is to have fun and explore the limits of my own creativity. My hope in publishing it here, is that I’ll reach someone who enjoy the story, and can push me forward towards writing more, as it is difficult at times to find the motivation to write just for myself. Additionally, I can’t really promise to have regular updates, as I have a full-time job that often likes to take the ‘full-time’ part literally, and a sporadic social life that occasionally surprises me (happy surprises mostly, so I shouldn’t complain). I’ll aim for once a week to start with, and take it from there. Happy reading! Cover photo by Jeff Hire (/photographer/gun4hire-58415), from https://freeimages.com/.

The Heroic Tales of Silas Horne
In the year 1858, the system came to the world. It brought with it beings from fantasy and mythology the likes of which the world had never seen before. In the American frontier, a place already known for being a dog eat dog world the system gave bandits the capacity for untold violence, not to mention monsters and system loving fanatics hell-bent on the murder of the innocent. But are they truly so innocent? No one knows what the system is or why it came, they do know one thing though. That the world post system isn't a place for a hero. Luckily for the world, U.S Marshall Silas Horne is no such man. ----- AN: This story is a litRPG inspired by "Randidly Ghosthound" and "The New World" but after reading many such stories and finding them to be a tad samey I decided to write this in a new setting, the Wild West. Also, my release schedule is chaotic, expect at least one 1000 word chapter each day but probably like two more will also be released.
