《Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]》Book 4 Chapter 64: 5-Minutes of Endurance and Impromptu Water Magic Lesson

Lone scratched his head upon seeing none of the over 30 humans making the first move. "Uh, you guys only have a little over 4-minutes left, y'know? I'm gonna wipe the floor with you lot, like, pretty much as soon as the 5-minutes have passed, so were I you, I might want to start chanting," he noted nonchalantly.
One of the humans tightened the grip on his staff in rage. "Even... Even if you're a triple-S-ranker... Even despite that, you're still only a beginner with magic! Ahhh!" He screamed to pump himself up then utilised the assistance chant that was etched into the shaft of his weapon before he chanted a few lines of ancient magical text. The next moment, he casting, "Crude Fireball!"
He, as well as all of the other humans, watched in suspense as the ball hurtled through the air and slammed right into the breastplate of Lone's battlemage armour.
Lone whistled. "That was a fat fireball. Must be, what, at least advanced, right? Maybe expert? Nice. Keep 'em comin'. You're at 3-minutes-50 now, by the way."
"Ahhhh! Crude Waterball!"
"Crude Sand Snare!"
The host has developed the active sand magic skill: Crude Sandy Snare. The host has developed the passive skill: Sand Magic Resistance. Congratulations! The host has developed an affinity for Sand Magic.
"Take this! Crude Lightning Bolt!"
"Eat my Crude Lava Stream!"
The host has developed the active lava magic skill: Crude Lava Stream. The host has developed the passive skill: Lava Magic Resistance. Congratulations! The host has developed an affinity for Lava Magic.
"Crude Dusty Breeze!"
The host has developed the active dust magic skill: Crude Dusty Breeze. The host has developed the passive skill: Dust magic Resistance. Congratulations! The host has developed an affinity for Dust Magic.
It would seem that since Lone had, in fact, not dodged or blocked at all, this had spurned the students into attacking him all at once, which put a big fat grin on the foxkin's face.
His body burned, it was cut, his skin was peeled off, he was soaked in water and electrocuted, but no matter what the students did, a smile always remained on Lone's face.
Very quickly, a peanut gallery formed and a handful of idle teachers and professors had heard the commotion or felt the strong usage of magic, so had come running.
Seeing as how Lone was being ganged up on, some of the more sympathetic teachers and professors wanted to break up the fight, but they had already been warned by headmaster Erion to never interfere with Lone and Sophie should they be participating in a perfectly legitimate challenge.
'Even if he's a triple-S-ranker, getting hit by so many beginner-level spells will most definitely result in some permanent injuries... Our professors that specialise in healing or nature magic can only do so much...' one worried teacher thought.
'Hmpf! Serves the stupid boy right! Maybe a live-long injury will teach him some humility!' a professor commented internally.
Slowly, but surely, the minutes continued to roll on by. Eventually, almost all of the students were starting to get headaches from almost depleting their mana reserves. None were foolish enough to actually overtax their mana organs, luckily enough for Lone. He didn't want to heal any damage that they caused to themselves or anything absurd like that.

Cracking his neck and his knuckles, Lone's broken body spoke. "Well, that's 5-minutes."
He raised one of his hands and pressed it against his chest before saying, "Minor Healing. Minor Healing. Minor Healing. Minor Healing. Minor Healing. Ah, there we go, no longer effective."
Congratulations! The host's nature magic skill [Minor Healing] has levelled up! It is now Advanced Level 10. Congratulations! The host's nature magic skill [Minor Healing] has levelled up! It is now Expert Level 1.
"Ah, I'm still pretty fucked up, huh? 'Won't be long before he bleeds out now' is what you're all thinking, I bet, right? Well, no need to worry." Lone poured a good chunk of his MP into Basic Regeneration, and just like magic, his wounds all closed.
Congratulations! The host's unique skill [Basic Regeneration] has levelled up! It is now Master Level 9.
'Only two more levels to go before an evolution... Well, if there is one, which there fuckin' better be since it's called 'Basic' Regeneration,' Lone idly thought as he noticed a lot of the students and teachers who had no aversion to blood blush upon witnessing his now healed body.
Seeing that everyone was still in shock at his self-healing, Lone simultaneously used his Creation Magic to repair his battlemage armour and he inspected Minor Healing now that it had ranked up.
Nature Magic Skill: Minor Healing
Allows the user to cast a minor healing spell that can heal minor cuts and bruises.
Will also heal headaches and very basic illnesses like the common cold. [New!] While unable to cure them, can identify most basic illnesses.
Can clot bleeding from serious wounds, but will not heal them.
Cost: 350 MP [-50 MP] Mastery: Expert Level 1
'Identification of basic illnesses? I guess that means more uncommon ones than what fall under the 'very basic' of what the skill can cure? Interesting, but mostly useless,' Lone concluded.
Moving on from his immediate advancements, Lone smiled warmly towards the 30-plus humans that had so viciously attacked him. Were he not who he was, he may have even died.
Of course, he had provoked them and not even tried to fight back, but regardless, that did not change the fact that they had tried to - as a group - cripple or even kill him. It was certainly possible for a professor with knowledge of a healing-oriented spell to help him avoid meeting the Grim Reaper, but regardless, the students went too far in Lone's opinion.
"I'm about to teach you all a lesson in restraint, so listen very carefully, okay?" Lone then waved his hand and quickly cast one very specific spell 10 times in succession.
Immediately, all of the exhausted students felt their throats dry up and their sweat evaporate. Needless to say, it felt uncomfortable and strange. It was like all of the liquid in their body was either being removed or thinned somehow, even their blood.
Lone smiled then cancelled the skill after seeing a barrage of system notifications. "What I used on you all just now was a water magic skill called 'Dehydration' as you probably noticed when I was casting it. It's a fairly useless skill in combat if looked at with a purely offensive-potential-focused mindset, however, as you all saw, it works to dehydrate all of the water in the target area. It not only makes you feel uncomfortable, but it makes you feel unnatural. If I'd kept it on for much longer, some of you may have even experienced hallucinations and gone into panic attacks."

Seeing that everyone was listening to him either carefully or wearily, Lone smiled. "Every school of magic has such 'useless' skills. And thus, I have proven that you can win a fight without having to shed even a single drop of blood."
He paced back and forth as he juggled his lexicon between his hands playfully before he chanted, "Water Droplets." He only wanted to use this skill once for maximum impact, so use it only once he did.
"Ahhhh!"
"My eyes!"
"It burns!"
All of the students thrashed about violently on the floor or began weeping violently after all being hit in the eyeball by a quickly moving water droplet made of MP and the essence of water.
Lone chuckled. "Don't be such babies. That was harmless. I just showed you all another fairly weak and useless skill being used in a way to incapacitate a person. Sure, this skill is deadly when it's at a high enough level, but that right there was the skill at beginner-level-1."
His chuckling soon stopped and his face was painted with an evil grin. "This, however, this is gonna hurt, so grit your teeth and pray you learn Water Magic Resistance or Physical Pain Resistance from this, particularly the latter. You'll need it."
Lone then instantly drained almost all of his remaining MP to cast a little over 30 Mana Waterspears with the assistance of his lexicon.
The spells whizzed through the air rapidly and tore massive holes through arms, legs, or even the chests of the more physically capable students.
Entire limbs were torn off and destroyed beyond any conceivable repair. Lungs were blown to pieces, kidneys ruptured, stomachs torn and emptied... needless to say, it was very gruesome. So much so that several of the onlookers screamed horrifically and expelled their breakfasts onto the floor very promptly as they hunched over in disgust.
Many of the observing professors rushed towards students who were in their classes and they grabbed their wands or staves quickly and started chanting in attempts to save the lives of their precious pupils. A handful of the other professors that had been watched pointed their weapons at Lone.
Lone just laughed faintly and ignored them all. They could attack him if they really wanted to. He hardly cared either which way.
Reaching into his Dimensional Storage, Lone pulled out his new Eternal Mana Crystal and activated it to refill his MP. 'This is a bit wasteful, but I can always use my SP to practice Soul Rooting today instead of my MP. I don't want these idiots dying thanks to me, after all.'
Lone approached a student whose left arm was nothing but a bloody stump now. The boy was groaning in pain as a professor cradled him in her arms.
She looked up and Lone and narrowed her eyes. "Have you not done enough damage as it is, Student Lone?"
He ignored her and hovered his hand over the boy's wound. "Minor Healing. Minor Healing. Minor Healing."
Once the healing spell has finished its job, Lone invoked Creation Magic mentally, restoring the boy's arm to pristine condition.
"What?!"
"Did he just use Grand Restoration?!"
"No! It felt like he used less than 50,000 Mana Points if I was forced to give a guess!"
"There's no way he has any healing-based magic skill so perfectly mastered to the point that it would cost less than 50,000 without at least 19-lines of assistance chanting!"
"Indeed, but regardless, he's restored Student Uthgar's arm. As you all know, I teach illusion magic, and that right there was no illusion..."
Hope filled the eyes of the injured students that were still conscious while the many teachers and professors ready to attack Lone sheathed their wands and staves cautiously.
Lone didn't even offer them so much as a shrug and he just calmly went around each student, spammed Minor Healing on them, then recreating what he couldn't fix with only his nature magic.
He went through more than a million stored MP, which was a shame, but he had a plan to make up for the loss beyond the immense skill gain he had already experienced.
Lone returned to where he was standing earlier and clapped loudly to get everyone's attention. "Okay, every student that attacked me and every teacher that was about to attack me, you are going to touch this icosahedron and inject all of your remaining MP into it. I don't give a fuck if you get a throbbing headache from it. No need to overclock your mana organs or anything, so just suck it up and do as I say. You could all use the Mental Pain Resistance skill anyway as mages if you don't already own it."
Seeing the cautious and unwilling looks in everyone's eyes, Lone wore an evil smirk. "If you don't, then I have no issue almost killing you guys again," he said as he looked mockingly at the students that had tried to kill him. He then glanced at the members of staff. "And for you teachers and professors, I'll do the exact same. This is the price you have to pay for threatening my life. Anyone in the peanut gallery that did jackshit or a teacher or professor that just tried to help your students, you're fine. No need to give me any of your MP."
Everyone looked unwilling, hell, a handful of the offending party had even started to leave. Lone sighed and shook his head. "Ascending Aura."
Like ragdolls, the few students leaving which had attacked Lone and had been healed by him or the professors that had been seconds away from subduing him with powerful skills that were fleeing the scene, each and every one of them collapsed.
"You're giving me your MP. There's no way you're getting out of this," Lone boldly stated.
"Is that so?" a powerful and familiar voice asked.
Turning towards its owner, Lone frowned. "What the fuck do you want, Vice-headmaster Merkel?"
"I want you to stop acting so arrogantly and for you to apologise," she replied as she held her head up high and glared down at Lone judgmentally.
"Oh, is that so?" Lone responded with a challenging tone.
