《Binary Progression》Volume 1 - Chapter 37: Elplorr joins a guild...

While JohnWillStab and the rest of his party were busy coming up with a plan of their guild base:
The man dressed in a blue coat and blond hair stood in the open field, patches of dirt covered the otherwise light-green grass, in the distance stood an evergreen forest of relatively small trees, all looked over by a massive mountain in the distance.
In the centre of the field stood various tents and several players, at each tent stood a player dealing with some sort of paperwork.
A large banner reading “MercenaryGuild Recruitment Day!” was hung from two large poles.
"Elplorr: I’m here to sign up for MercenaryGuild!"
MercenaryGuild was a medium-sized guild holding almost one hundred players, they were composed of high-level PVP and PVE players who would work as mercenaries for a client for a stated price, the guild covered armour repairs and handled support for those willing to perform longer quest chains to unlock abilities that would aid them in performing their work.
MercenaryGuild was definitely the most iconic, and arguably most powerful mercenary organisation on the server, though there were four other ones, each one offering lower prices at the cost of more underqualified players.
The player Elplorr was talking to was, in fact, not at one of the recruitment tents, it was just a player.
The pink-feathered harpy replied with: Revenberry: Yeah~ the recruiters are in the tents…
"Elplorr: Oh, sorry – I saw you had the badge so I assumed you were working with them!"
"Revenberry: No, I’m actually a recruit, too!"
She played the /flex emote showing off the black badge on her shoulder with what looked like an armoured fist as the crest of the guild.
"Elplorr: I see, in that case, I shall move on to the recruitment booth!"

"Revenberry: k."
Revenberry was somewhat creeped-out by the man's way of speaking, “was he roleplaying?” she thought.
The man-made his way to the recruitment tent, before him sat a small, frail-looking man, ahead of light green hair and a blacked armband were the only parts of his character design that stood out.
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Hey, how can I help you?"
"Elplorr: I want to sign up to the MercenaryGuild!"
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Are you sure? I think this is the wrong line, dude…"
"Elplorr: Nonsense! This is where I must be to stand at the forefront of adventure!"
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Alright… if you say so!"
GreenHairArmbadgeGuy traded Elplorr an item called “Guild Recruitment Form.”
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Read over it, and click accept if you’re interested."
Without even glancing at the page Elplorr hit accept and with a quick flash of light he was in the guild.
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Welcome! I must say, it takes some guts to join the special unit! Dealing with account-deleting hackers and people that will track down your IP and send illegal imagery to your doorstep before calling the police on you – but we always need more people like you who are willing to help maintain our standard of playing!"
“WHAT!? WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST GET MYSELF INTO – WHY!? I WANTED ADVENTURE NOT FIGHTING VIRTUAL ASSASSINS!”
"Elplorr: Well, I can’t wait to get to work!"
“THE HELL I AM! BUT THERE IS NO GOING BACK! I can’t quit now… I need to figure out a good chance to leave… once there’s an opening-”
The GreenHairArmbadgeGuy interrupted his thoughts,
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: It’s great that you joined because we have a mission for you already!"
“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!”
"Elplorr: Fantastic! Just tell me where to go and who to slay!"

"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Before you go you will meet up with the other two members of your party!"
“Thank God it's not just me!”
"Elplorr: I see, and what are they called?"
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Celerious – she fights with a mace, I think she plays a wolfman, and there’s Rootin' – wolfman rifleman!"
“So my party is all furries… Oh God…”
"Elplorr: Fantastic! I cannot wait to meet them!"
"GreenHairArmbadgeGuy: Great! You’ll meet at those coordinates," welcome to the team!
GreenHairArmbadgeGuy traded Elplorr a note with the coordinates as well as an arm badge.
It was black with an armoured fist but aside from that, it was covered in skulls and flames.
Revenberry saw Elplorr leaving the fair and in a sudden moment of compassion decided to go over and comfort the role-player (and show off her badge while she was at it).
She made her way up to him,
"Revenberry: Hey, too bad you didn’t get in!"
"Elplorr: What do you mean? I did get it…"
He equipped the arm badge.
For a second Revenberry felt a little down she couldn’t show off before noticing the other patterns on the badge aside from the fist.
"Revenberry: HOLD ON! YOU JOINED THE SPECIAL UNIT?!"
"Elplorr: Well, you know how it is, you click accept and suddenly you’re in."
"Revenberry: YOU DIDN’T READ OVER THE LETTER?!"
"Elplorr: Fear not! For I am no weakling."
"Revenberry: …"
"Revenberry: Whatever, guess this is goodbye since you’ll have your account deleted by some hacker soon enough or whatever…"
"Elplorr: I doubt they could catch me off guard!"
“THEY CAN TOTALLY CATCH ME OFF, GUARD!”
"Revenberry: If you have half as much luck as you do confidence you’ll be fine…"
"Elplorr: Exactly, that’s the spirit!"
“HALF OF ZERO IS STILL ZERO!”
And so Elplorr headed out and down a dirt road to the designated area where he was to meet with his party members.
