JohnWillStab and Alexander proceeded to "save" the survivors of Shadeview town while Jordan saved a few himself, mostly by offering them water and whatnot.
"Alright, we saved 3/3 survivors!" JohnWillStab exclaimed.
"Wasn't it ten?" asked Jordan.
"Yeah, I think the quest is broken." JohnWillStab shrugged.
JohnWillStab checked his stats, he was now level five.
Dexterity: 7 + 2(Gloves)
Perception: 7
Stamina: 3 + 4(Boots)
Athletics: 5
Strength: 4 + 1(Gloves) (+1 from "saving" the survivors)
Weapon skill: 6 (+1 from "saving" the survivors)
Magic: 3
Intelligence: 3
Luck: 3 + 1(Ring)
Charisma: 0 + 4(Tits)
JohnWillStab's reached for the "cloak" he was promised, since the quest page was in his pocket at the time of completing the quest that's where it was.
"My one looks more like a cape... I'll take it!" Alex exclaimed.
"What stat does it have?" asked Jordan.
"four intelligence," Alex replied.
"He could use some of that..."
"My one is actually a cloak," Jordan said putting it on his back, it was a bright red cape that increased his magic stat, it had white flame patterns on the bottom.
"Well... my one is just... a scarf..." JohnWillStab said putting his scarf on.
It was bright red and covered in white skull patterns.
Nobody said anything as he stood there with an unimpressed look on his face.
Charisma: -1 + 4(Tits)
"I look like a fucking Christmas decoration..." he said.
"Yeah, it's awful."
"Terrible."
"Horrific."
"Actually a hate crime."
"Disgusting."
JohnWillStab glanced down at his stats.
"IT LITERALLY JUST DECREASES MY CHARISMA!" he exclaimed throwing the scarf to the ground.
"Woah! Don't throw it away! You could sell it!" Jordan complained.
"WHO'D BUY A CURSED CHRISTMAS DECORATION!?"
JohnWillStab suddenly saw a paper fly into his hand, it was a quest page.
"Woah! Did a quest just magically appear for me?!"
"Quest difficulty: F"
"Quest level range: 1 - 2"
"Task: Go into the mansion for no reason :) "
"Reward: 1000XP, 10 gold"
"I got one too!" Jordan exclaimed.
"Same..." Alex said.
"...seems suspicious..." Jordan said looking at the "task".
"What do you mean? We just have to go there for no reason." JohnWillStab said gesturing towards the mansion.
"Perhaps a living maiden wishes to award my courage with-" he was smacked over the head by Jordan.

"Hey, don't go cheating on your harpy person with imaginary women." Jordan scolded Alex.
"Alright! alright!... but seriously, I think we're safe." Alex shrugged.
"Right! I'll get another level for just walking into a building?! Hell yeah!" John exclaimed rushing towards the mansion.
Alex followed, Jordan kept his distance at first, but didn't want to get separated from the group.
As soon as Jordan set foot in the mansion the doors behind shut, the room was completely dark before lamps and torches mounted to the walls switched on.
It was dusty, really dusty, spider webs and mould filled the halls.
The corridor split into three, one leading to a staircase, one to a basement and one to the kitchen.
"...I ...I think this may have been a trap..." JohnWillStab admitted.
"OH DO YOU?!" Demanded Jordan.
"Alright, alright... let's split up!" suggested Alex.
Jordan smacked him over the head.
"Like hell we will! Clearly, the enemy wants to pick us off bit by bit!" he exclaimed.
"Alright, ... let's go to the basement!" JohnWillStab suggested.
"Fine... as long as we stick together... we should be fine..." Jordan clutched his staff tightly as he walked.
JohnWillStab walked down the first passage and into the basement, he turned towards his two party-members and counted down from three with one hand, as he reached one he mouthed "go!".
He swung the door open and in the basement, amidst a knee-high layer of water stood a black-eyed child, covered in moss and rot, he turned towards JohnWillStab who was already in the process of shutting the door.
"FUCK THAT!" he called out slamming the door closed and breaking off the handle with a nearby loose brick.
"Shouldn't we deal with it?!" Jordan demanded.
"Do you want to go in there?!" JohnWillStab gestured towards the crack between the door and the floor from under which a set of bony fingers stuck out and scratched at the ground.
"..." Jodan didn't reply, he turned to where Alex stood moments ago only to find he wasn't there.
He looked up the stairs and saw Alex sprinting up to the main floor.
"ALEX!" Jordan called out.
Alex stopped running and turned back to face them, horror on his face.
"Oh, sorry, I thought we agreed on the topic of not getting our asses cursed by a ghost child."

"Fine, don't separate yourself from the group like that, though!" Jordan sighed.
"Oh, come on-" he was cut off by a chain grabbing him by the foot and dragging him away from the basement and up the stairs.
JohnWillStab and Jordan exchanged a look.
"What a dumbass..." they said in unison.
"YOUR FRIEND'S SOUL IS ALREADY FORFEIT!" the ghost-child laughed in a distorted voice.
"We need to hurry!" JohnWillStab exclaimed as he and Jordan began running upstairs.
"Too late! He is being judged by the spirits of the people you saved thinking they were survivors! BUT THEY WERE REALLY GHOSTS!" the kid laughed.
"What do you mean?! You mean the two children and old woman in a wheelchair were ghosts!?"
"I knew they were ghosts, though." JohnWillStab shrugged.
Moments later Alex walked back, he still had the chain tied around his ankle, but as he walked in from the main room, two see-through children and an old woman in a wheelchair desperately trying to win in a tug of war against a swordsman in his twenties.
"This... " Alex scratched the back of his head.
"This is a bit... awkward..."
"FEAR US MORTAL!" the ghost of a kid who looked like he was around ten demanded, he was practically crying at this point.
"Wait, what the hell!?" demanded the basement-child.
"Yeah, Alex and I killed all the ghosts. Looks like our little, naive Jordan saved the children and elderly first." JohnWillStab laughed smugly.
"Alright, hold on, time-out! time-out! I want to talk to my ghosts."
JohnWillStab pinched the roof of his nose, "Alright, you have one minute." he relented.
"You three, come down here!" demanded the basement child.
The two children and old woman made it down the stairs (the woman fell but was placed back on the ghost wheelchair by the two kids).
They whispered around for a while before the basement child sent them back to the top of the stairs.
"Hey, you there, pale woman!" demanded the basement child.
"Yeah, what is it?" asked JohnWillStab.
"Come here."
JohnWillStab moved up to the door, there was a head-sized hole with iron bars for people to look-in on the basement.
The rotting face of the basement-child faced JohnWillStab's face.
"Look, they're just kids, for crying out loud! Would it kill you to at least scream in terror?!" pleaded the basement ghost.
"Kids?! What about the old hag?!" JonhWillStab pointed at the old woman.
"She's not even dead, but she's almost there anyway." the basement child said dismissively with a shrug.
"Look, I'm just here for the XP!" JohnWillStab sighed.
"Come on! This is the next generation of ghosts kids and you're killing any ambition in them!"
"Well, maybe they don't want to scare people for the rest of eternity!"
"Oh good, another one!" scoffed the basement ghost.
"Timmy left for college after just three-hundred years of haunting the out-house... what's wrong with you kids!?" demanded the voice.
"Look, they have an eternity to go back to scaring people! You can't force them into the scaring business or they'll grow to hate it!" JohnWillStab exclaimed.
"...I ...I never thought about it that way..." said the basement child.
"So, will you let us go and get our XP?" John asked.
"Uh... I guess... though we're not the creators of your quest... the one who made it is in the kitchen, he's hiding in the big oven." the kid explained.
"Alright, thanks for the info." JohnWillStab said as he headed upstairs, he was followed by Jordan and Alex.
"What the hell was that about!?" Jordan demanded.
"Hmm?" asked JohnWillStab.
"You turned a scene from the e*orcist into a lecture about parenting!" Jordan exclaimed.
"Oh, that just... happens sometimes." he shrugged.
They walked into the kitchen, it was completely open except for the large oven, it was slightly ajar, it was hard to tell, but inside sat a large man, part-undead and with a long twisty moustache.
JohnWillStab looked over to Alex and Jordan who didn't expect the final-boss to be a fat man hiding in the oven.
"Jordan..." JohnWillStab said.
"Got it." he replied shooting a ball of fire into the oven and charring the "final boss" in seconds.
JohnWillStab's level increased to six, though he didn't get the money... it may be related to everything the man had being reduced to ash.

The boy who fell in love with a tree
This is a story about a boy who fell in love with a tree… A story about powerful people changing the rulebook to stack the odds and line their pockets… I aim to create a story that will transport us so we get a glimpse of what that boy felt. The first 4 Chapters might be classified as a prologue depending on how you look at it. The boy quickly grows and the story really starts when the System arrives on Earth. I’m trying to achieve a relatively slow power progression and guide what we learn at a pace following the people in the story. There will be fighting but It’s more focused on base building. The MC is not all-powerful and all-knowing but he has some significant advantages. I’m trying to create a universe that makes sense in its own context. Much of what you will find, are my own world views, in a magnified way, as to make it for interesting fiction. The story took a life of its own when I started to write and I’m really happy with it. Not all of the tags I have marked will immediately be applied. There is stuff planned for far in the future such as the Sci-fi tag. There might be some cursing and gore but it is not very often. -------------- English is not my primary language, so I ask everyone to be forgiving. If you see a glaring error I would appreciate a msg but it is not feasible to fix everything. And if the story offends you, I wish you happiness, reading what you enjoy. ------------- Img link: https://unsplash.com/photos/EwKXn5CapA4

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
