《Binary Progression》Volume 4 - Chapter 32: Training

"And that's why I think you should cheat for the jGuardians!" Curstl exclaimed smugly while standing in the canteen of the jGuardian base, at the table sat Crown, Bromy, Revenberry, and Bony.
Pedecree was still in the kitchen.
The room was located on the second floor of the base, the floor was made from wooden planks and the walls were made from thick stone bricks.
Lamps lit the walls, they were stolen from some more obscure roads and seemingly burned indefinitely.
Olivionion disappeared a few hours back, he said he had someone he wanted to draft for the raid.
Curstl was standing beside a large sheet of hide held up by two large sticks, opposite her, a jGuardain intern stood with a hand-drawn picture held before a candle, this resulted in the world's shittiest projector.
Bonifacius clapped his hands out of politeness, he didn't pay attention to most of the presentation, but he knew the intern had to work hard to figure out how to make a projector.
"So them, what is your response, Crown?" Curst asked.
Crown sat there with a glum look as always.
"Alright... a few problems..." she began.
"A; points two through forty-three were "please" and variants thereof..."
"B; I already told you I can't cheat..."
"C; who are you?"
Curstl crossed her arms.
"Sure you can't cheat, wink, wink!" she performed an exaggerated wink.
"..."
"What was that?" asked Crown.
"Oh nothing, I mean I totally believe you, wink, wink!" again, she performed an exaggerated wink.
Crown turned to face Bonifacius "Is... is she having a stroke?!" she asked.
"Do not worry about Curstl, she has no shred of respect for anyone including herself, thou would be wise to ignore her," Bonifacius said bluntly.
"Oh, Bony~ Don't be like that!" Curstl exclaimed cheerfully.
"Leave me be, wench!"
"Oh, you're no nice when you're upset!"
"THIS IS WHY I AVOID THEE!"
Crown stood up form the table.
"Anyway, I'm going to this alleged room of mine..." she replied coldly.

"Of course! Go ahead! We can chat about this later!" Curstl exclaimed.
"I'd rather we didn't!" Crown exclaimed walking out the door and heading towards their rooms.
A solid thirty seconds passed before Curstl snapped toward the table, her pleasant smile relaced with an exhausted one.
"She must be hiding the ability..." she thought.
"Bonifacius, Bromy, I have a job for you guys!" Curstl said changing the topic.
"A job?" asked Bromy.
"Right!" Curstl gestured towards the intern who frantically flicked through the sides until they fount the picture of Arlepia.
A red dot symbolised their base.

"The red dot is us, as in this base!" she exclaimed.
"The blue circles are towns we have confirmed have people!" she added
"And the area highlighted in red is the amount of land we'll control when we conquer the villages!"
"So you want us to beat the other villages into joining the jGuardians?" asked Bromy.
"Thou does realise it is very likely thy rule will be opposed?" asked Bonifacius crossing his arms.
"Yeah, I mean - I don't mind going over and busting some kneecaps, but as soon as a 'nicer' faction arises, you'll be taken down and probably decapitated," said Bromy.
His eyes looked bored, as he leaned back in his chair with his arms behind his back.
"Bromy be careful thou will fall!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Whatever mom..." Bromy replied still leaning in his chair.
"Whether it's permanent or temporary we need to expand before someone else takes the towns!" Curstl argued.
"Stronger ties with one or two villages will be worth more than a dictatorship over a dozen!" Bonifacius interjected.
"That's pretty naive..." Bromy sighed looking over to Bonifacius.
It was a shock for both Curstl and Bonifacius that Bromy agreed with Curstl in a non-sadistic matter.
"We're starting from a blank slate, Earth had thousands of years of war and atrocities to get to where it is, and even not it isn't peaceful, thinking that we can just come over and say "hey, let us rule you, please" is just stupid..." said Bromy.

"Then are thou suggesting we ignore the foresight of the civilised world?" asked Bonifacius looked towards Bromy, he looked visibly upset, though not unreasonable.
"Of course not, I'm saying being main characters will excuse only so many war crimes..." Bromy said breathing a sigh.
Bromy looked over to Curstl.
"First of all, I think it's a pretty stupid our strategist isn't involved in our strategy meeting..." Bromy said.
"That's right! JohnWillStab!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Second of all, you never told us your aims, are you going to play a country, the police or what?" Bromy continued.
"Well... I haven't really... decided that yet..." she replied uncertainly.
"So was your plan to go up to a village, plant a jGuardian flag into the ground and say "Guys, I dunno what we're doing, but please listen to us until we figure it out!" or something like that?" asked Bromy.
"Ermm... I mean... yeah..." Curstl replied.
Bonifacius spoke up.
"We must remember, the witch Curstl came up with this plan quickly to maximise our advantage, tis not entirely unreasonable to think other factions are doing the same thing!"
The room went silent for a bit.
"We should call the corpse already..." Bromy sighed.
"Indeed..." Bonifacius agreed before calling JohnWillStab on the friend-contact menu.
Bonifacius made the conversation to be heard by everyone.
Instantly the first sound that came across was loud panting.
"Oh shit, it's still fucking hard!" John exclaimed in an exhausted voice.
"See, I told you it's not the length that matters!" XPhaxX exclaimed.
Bonifacius blushed as he heard the message come across, everyone else in the room stared at Bonifacius.
"Ahem..." Bonifacius did a loud, exaggerated cough as he tried to get John's attention.
"Alright, are you ready for round... ehh... ten?" XPhaxX asked.
A shriek came from John, "W-what do you mean round ten?! I thought this was it!?"
"Oh no, I'm going to abuse that undead stamina of yours until you die!" XPhaxX exclaimed.
Everyone in the room sat and listened quietly.
"Hell no! I've had enough for today! Put it down!" John cried.
The sound of footsteps coming near was accompanied by evil laughter.
"Oh no, John... you're the one who asked me for this..." XPhaxX replied.
"Please, man! I... I don't think my body can take anymore..." John exclaimed.
"GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!" XPhaxX exclaimed excitedly as a desperate cry came from John.
"STAY BACK DEMON!" he exclaimed.
"We were sword-training for like... an hour, man!" XPhaxX exclaimed in a disappointed tone.
"I thought you beat me with the sword because of the long-range... but it turns out I just suck..." John sighed.
"That's why you need to stop being lazy and get to training!"
"Uhmm... John?" asked Bonifacius.
"Oh shit, Bonifacius, how long were you on the line?" asked John jokingly.
"...a while..." he replied awkwardly.
Bromy fell backwards on his chair doing his best to stop laughing.
"There is a strategy meeting going on, we would be grateful if thou attended!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Alright, I'll be there soon," John replied.
Moments later a muffled "Oh, looks like I can't finish the training today! Sorry!" Jonh said in a fake apologetic voice.
"It's alright, John! I'll double tomorrows training!" XPhaxX replied giving him a thumbs up.
John's voice went from smug to horrified.
"So where are thou?" asked Bonifacius.
"I'm outside of Levelgreen, I'll be back at the base soon!"
"I see... well, we shall be waiting!" Bonifacius said before hanging up.
"Levelgreen? That's like... a twenty-minute walk at best..." Bromy remarked.
"I wonder who is it JohnWillStab is getting sword-fighting lessons from..." Curstl replied.
A few seconds later JohnWillStab and the Thief appeared outside the jGuardian base thanks to the Thief's Shiningstep ability.

Forgotten Dungeon
Death comes quickly and without warning. Even for such little personage as him. It's quite hard to start as a dungeon core. Quite harder when divine bureaucracy simply dumps you in the a** end of nowhere because of their incompetence and because of your agent status as a Fallen Angel. Yet Uno (temporary name) is used to working with subpar materials and making the best of circumstances. It doesn't help that his personality was cut down to size, but he tries to overcome the system with ingenuity and a healthy dose of duct tape. Or the local equivalent of such. *** An audiobook of the Forgotten Dungeon story has been made by Agro Squerrils and is available on YouTube, under this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcfzFNUhrNS3Z7DfjN5pMWn-CI1uKg3s2 He has my permission and full support for doing so, so don't be shy and check it out! *** Hello people! It's a story about a dungeon. Or maybe the dungeon? Who knows. Dumped in a hostile world, working hard to overcome circumstances. There is an RPG system in place, but I'll try to make it not number-heavy. I would be more focused on skills - at least from the perspective of the sentient races. Dungeons will have their own little playground. I'll try to make MC not overpowered - it always irks me how the stories tend to go from zero to hero in a few minutes. I hope y'all will enjoy the ride! *** Also, a Discord server has been made recently: https://discord.gg/sK2pam3 Join and share your opinions, if interested! :)

The Rowan Fox, Tail 1: The Missing Children
Deep in the Maple Woods sits a mountain of old. Humans have claimed it and today a city called Redlog covers it from peak to foot. Meet Josei, one of many medicine makers living in the city of red roofs. Hers is the start of many tales, home to a very special fox. Like foxes often do, this one finds himself plenty of trouble. (Thought I would be gone forever did you? I'm back again! This time with a book that actually has an ending. I know because I've written it. I will be editing each chapter then releasing it here as they're done, probably once or twice a week. It's a shorter tale than what I've written before but that was the goal from the start. I really need to learn how to finish a story so this was a big accomplishment for me. I'll be writing The Rowan Fox in several parts instead, short but hopefully sweet.) (This story is a combination of some of my favorite things: folktales, foxes, ancient forests, and feel good slice of life. I hope you like it!)
