《Binary Progression》Volume 7 - Chapter 3: Bonifacius got a quest!

It was early in the morning, JohnWillStab was in his lair once again, he was going over the raid in his mind, writing down everything that happened and trying to come up with ways of making fewer mistakes in the future.
Aside from that, he was finishing up his written-up plan of phase-one of the ‘jGuardian territory expansion and improvement project’
In the document, JohnWillStab wrote up a quick run-down of his plan to introduce a very loose set of laws to make the world safer and more enjoyable while at the same time not restricting the players.
There are four policies any town joining the jGuardian territory would have to agree to.
Firstly, they will have to elect one person to submit requests and send documents to the jGuardians.
Secondly, a fee of two gold per citizen of the town is required, this will fund infrastructure, but most importantly act as a ‘money sink’ to help stabilize the economy.
Since the flow of gold from mobs is endless, sinks that “remove” gold need to be introduced.
Ideally, for every one gold collected from monsters, one should be destroyed somewhere else, but until the jGuardians are able to collect that sort of data, this will have to do.
Thirdly, PVP between non-consenting people in towns is forbidden, the line between what was truly murder in this world was thin, as such doing something drastic like banning PVP completely was not only unrealistic but also not the jGuardian’s decision to make.
Fourthly, jGuardians get the final say when it comes to laws and their enforcement and or punishment.
The main benefits of joining the ‘jGuardian territory expansion and improvement project’ are as follows…
Protection, the jGuardians would send trained warriors to defend towns from bandits and thieves, this would allow people to live normal, domestic lives.
Fair punishment, a thief wouldn’t be at the mercy of the given town’s code, the jGuardians will offer a fair trial to the person in question and come up with a fair punishment, anything from a fine to perma-death.

Food circulation, food from higher and lower level zones will be dispersed in order to give more variety to people’s meals.
After Curstl had a look at the documents, Foxly, Bromy and Alex would be sent out to Glummington to negotiate the terms of their membership.
In the dining room…
Bromy and Bonifacius sat and ate breakfast.
For Bromy it was a well-balanced meal consisting of cereal, he specifically requested Pedecree to make him some.
Pedecree even went a step further and put the cereal into a wooden box with the text “Bromy-o’s” etched into it.
The cereal itself was simply made from flour, water and dried fruits, boiled and pressed into ring-shaped pieces before being baked.
Bromy chewed on his cereal in silence as Bonifacius ate his omelette.
“I can’t believe he actually made cereal…” Bromy remarked.
“Indeed, tis quite impressive! I wouldn’t even know where to start!” Bonifacius exclaimed.
Bromy ate another spoonful.
“I wish we had chocolate cereal though…” he sighed.
Bonifacius drank from the cup of tea that sat beside him.
“Indeed, however, thou would never eat any fruit if that was the case,” Bonifacius replied.
“What would be best… Chocolate rice? Choco-shells? Choco-hoops?” Bromy thought out-loud.
“What about honey? Does thou enjoy the flavour of honey flavoured cereal?” Bonifacius inquired.
“Eh…” Bromy shrugged.
“I know! Choco-pillows!” Bromy jumped from his chair as if he reached a eureka moment.
“…”
“I see…” Bonifacius remarked.
“Chocolate cereal, with chocolate inside, what’s not to like about Choco-pillows?!” Bromy demanded.
“Well… they do contain vast quantities of sugar,” Bonifacius replied.
“Bony, sugar is in everything, bread, tomatoes and even milk!” Bromy explained smugly.
“…what about eggs?” asked Bonifacius cutting another piece of his omelette with his knife before stabbing his fork into it.
“…“
“…”
Bromy’s smug disappeared.
“Shit… eggs are all protein and fat…” Bromy thought.

Bromy didn’t want to admit defeat.
“W-well, technically, proteins are be broken down into glucose, so in a roundabout way, they’re sugar!” he explained.
“Oh, I see!” Bonifacius continued eating his meal.
“If that is the case, how come people aren’t developing high blood sugar all the time?” asked Bonifacius.
Bromy sat down and crossed his arms.
“Well, they are, but blood sugar fluctuates throughout the day,”
“Basically, simple sugars like those in chocolate are easily broken by the body, and as such the glucose in the blood adds up,”
“Now, a load of glucose in the blood can make its PH get out-of-whack so the body releases insulin, and it essentially just pushes the glucose into cells with itself… and that’s like really bad long-term,”
“So, if the body sees a fuck-load of insulin in your cells it’s like ‘alright, fuck this, just let the sugar float around in the blood,’ and then you get diabetes…” Bromy explained.
“Stuff like bread and cereal is a little harder to digest, but not much,”
“And protein and fat take ages to break down, so the sugar is dosed-out over a long time, the body sends energy breaking it down making you sleepy,”
Bonifacius finished his meal and placed the now empty cup of tea on his plate.
“Sometimes I forget thou are truly a doctor and not an evil genius,” Bonifacius laughed.
Bromy grinned.
“I am not limited to one trade!” he exclaimed.
“Anyway…” Bromy began.
He stood up and cracked his back before turning to leave.
“This concludes today’s dietary lesson,”
“I have some business to do in the basement, I better get started on that,” he laughed maniacally,
“I see, good luck in thy work!”
Bonifacius took his dishes as well as Bromy’s bowl to the kitchen.
Inside, he washed them so as not to add to Revenberry’s already large amount of work, no matter how much everyone pleaded, she refused to “let you shut-ins handle the cleaning,”
After finishing the cleaning, he placed the dishes away and headed outside.
The air was cold and refreshing.
Bonifacius walked through their base, Arachnophobia basked in the sunlight atop the storage shed.
With a puff of smoke, Llime, the rabbit-frog messenger appeared.
“Curstl has a job for your guild,” she said bluntly.
“Greetings, Llime! Thou came early!” Bonifacius exclaimed.
She nodded.
“Mm, Curstl said its important this is solved soon, before the expansion plan comes into play,” she explained.
Bonifacius nodded.
“I understand,”
“There’s a new organisation on the rise, they’re not particularly strong though they have proven themselves as bloodthirsty brutes a few times already, for the sake of the jGuardian reputation they need to be dealt with,”
Bonifacius nodded.
“I see,”
Llime reached into her messenger bag and pulled out a handful of papers,
“I’ve marked the location on this map, I’ve also managed to take a few pictures of people we know are associated,” she continued.
Bonifacius took the papers looking at the map pointing to a town in Grimwood as well as the two pictures of players, both humans.
“Fear not, I shall get this job done in no time!” Bonifacius exclaimed.
“You’re going?” Llime asked.
“Well, Bromy and John are busy, the Thief is still asleep, Alexander and Revenberry are also away,”
“…fine, whatever,” with that, Llime disappeared with another puff of smoke as Bonifacius got ready to go take down a criminal organisation.

Barry Buckman and the Interdimensional Beastiary
In the beginning of 2021 I did something possibly stupid, I hired a ghostwriting company to write one of the many ideas going on in my head since I was busy with my job. Unfortunately... They were not the greatest, after the first writer assigned to me left I was stuck with... We'll just call her 'Karen'. Karen didn't want to listen to my feedback on chapters, and turned what was supposed to be a long story about a young guy surviving on an island of supernatural and crazy stuff, and becoming stronger from it, was turned into a not so great romance novel.I plan on releasing another one, probably after this that will be Barry Buckman Redux, which will be me writing it out the way I originally envisioned it.
