“It took me three weeks but the old guy finally told me where I can find the item to turn my beloved Diana into a form that is... more compatible with me. He didn't want to give it to me at the beginning but after showing him my beautiful wife he agreed. I could have could have sworn that he was talking to her... but of course that's not possible, right?
Anyway, after showing her to him he told me that I can find this item hidden inside of a small chest deep in the woods. I will of course start my search right after I finished writing this all down into my new book. I'm still thinking about a title by the way. Well it's time to go! I and Diana can't wait any longer! “

*Sirius POV*
After killing those disgusting spiders, Doro and I look around to find a way back up. The room we are currently inside of is very simple and made out of some strange black stone. We are not able to climb the spider webs back up, neither am I able to create ice on them. Well, guess we'll have to leave this room and look around outside.
We check everything once again for a last time and then get out of here and are met with and unexpected sight outside.
We seem to be inside an enormous cave inside the mountains! This place is really huge! Just how much of the mountain range is hollow?
It's pretty dark in here since we are underground but there are some gigantic crystals on the walls and ceiling that give of some light at least. I can see something similar to a city around a mile or two away from us. The 'buildings' in that city are... Simple.
They are basically just enormous cocoons made out of spider webs. Each of those cocoons are about twenty meters high and ten wide. There are so many of them... at least a thousand if not more. The most noticeable thing is in the center of this 'city'. A black cocoon with a height of over a hundred meters is standing there. Now that I look closer I think there are even some windows and doors on all of those cocoons...
I have the feeling that we should get out of here before whatever's inside that big cocoon gets out. The building we just came out of seems to be the only one made out of stone by the way. Now there has to be another exit, right? Maybe we should try to walk around the edge of this cave? This way we should be able to make sure we won't meet to many spiders and if we are luck we will find a tunnel or something. It's not very likely though. Well, it's a beginning. If we don't find anything we still ca-

“Stop Humans! You shall be fed to the great Mistress!” (???)
…
Hey look a spider that isn't talking in this annoying retarded way.
A group of four spiders are approaching us. Those guys don't look as disgusting as the last ones! Their lower bodies are that of spiders but their upper bodies look human. Well expect of the six eyes and this strange vertical mouth. They are also all carrying silver spears, expect of the one that talked, who carries a golden spear instead. Seems like they aren't too dumb.
Let’s try talking before freezing.
“Do we look like Humans to you?” (Sirius)
“…” (Spider Guy)
“We don’t, right? We look both like the undead, right? Want to know why? Because we are. So, unless you want to fed your mistress bones and rotting flesh, fuck off.” (Sirius)
“Right Fuck off thin-legs!” (Doro)
Thin-legs? Really? Doro has to work or his insults.
“You are still under arrest for killing fourteen civilians!” (Spider Guy)
“Under arrest? What the fuck? You are spiders, stop acting like humans and other civilized races. Also, it was you guys that attacked us.” (Sirius)
“Just surrender and we will give you a fair trial.” (Spider Guy)
Fair trial? Down here? As if. I have a very hard time imagining a spider judge. I don't think we have much of a choice though...
There is a whole city filled with spiders and we have no idea how to get out of here. Worst case scenario, we can't. I mean this slide may very well be the only way down here. If we kill them they'll probably going to send more anyway until I run out of mana or Doro out of stamina. I guess that's the only way. My only hope is that spiders probably won't eat undead.
“Alright we surrender, let's go.” (Sirius)
“I see you want to do this the hard wa- wa wait what?! You actually surrender?! * cough * erm, I mean of course you do!” (Spider Guy)
“You guys really lack confidence.” (Sirius)
“Do we really surrender, boss?” (Doro)
“Yeah, no use fighting. What now? Do we get handcuffs or anything? Or are you going to spin your web around us? I may not be claustrophobic, but I would prefer you guys to not put me into a cocoon.” (Sirius)
“We Hybrids can't create spider webs and we don't really have handcuffs, so... would you please follow us?” (Spider Guy)
“Alright.” (Sirius)
“This is going incredible well! I actually got them to surrender! Maybe I'll get promoted!” (Spider Guy)

“Good for you.” (Sirius)
They surround us and we all walk together towards the city. Seems like they are really not planning to kill us.
Let's be happy about that.
We enter the city and I see many different spiders walking around and staring at us. Most of them are those disgusting face spiders, but there are also some more hybrids under them. The most disturbing things are the small baby-faced spiders... They actually send shivers down my spine. I notice that we are not walking towards the black cocoon.
“Where are we going anyway?” (Sirius)
“We are escorting you two to our Prison.” (Spider Guy)
“You guys actually have something like that? What's inside the black cocoon by the way?” (Sirius)
“Hm? That's the home of Mistress Saxin! We are all descents of her and she's also the one ruling over all of us.” (Spider Guy)
“She lives pretty comfortable here, huh? Seeing how big her home is.” (Sirius)
“Well she need such a big home because of her size! She measures 35 glorifying meters from one leg to the other.” (Spider Guy)
“…” (Sirius)
35 meters? Are you serious? She's bigger than an adult dragon! I really hope she won't eat us. It's very unlikely though. I’m all skin and bones. Actually, I’m only bones. Great, now I’m depressed.
After walking for over two hours we finally arrive at a cocoon that looks a bit different than the other ones. This one looks a lot tougher. We are bought inside and the spider shows us our cell. I have to say, they are not too bad! I mean they are pretty big and the spider silk makes them very comfortable. They are at least better than the cells humans, elves and most other races use.
“Stay inside until we decide how to proceed from now on.” (Spider Guy)
“Didn't you say something about a fair trial?” (Sirius)
“We never had one, since nobody ever surrendered... We'll just ask the mistress what to do.” (Spider Guy)
What? Fuck you. What do you mean you never had one? I swear to god if they let us rot in here I'm going to haunt them if I come back for a third time. The spider leaves us alone in here and exits the building. I really want to break its legs right now.
*Third Person POV*
The leader of the Elite Soldiers enters the building of Mistress Saxin and knocks against her door.
“You may enter.” (Saxin)
The Spider-hybrid takes a deep breath and opens the door. He enters the room and is greeted by the gigantic spider.
“So, how did it go? Did we have any casualties? I heard they should be pretty strong.” (Saxin)
“N- no mistress! They... They actually surrendered.” (Elite-Leader)
“…Really? It's pretty rare to meet a human that won't freak out if they see us. Well how did they taste? I hope you didn't eat all of them yourself.” (Saxin)
“Actually... we didn't eat them at all.” (Elite-Leader)
“Thy is that? Are they infected with anything?” (Saxin)
“No! They are... undead.” (Elite-Leader)
“Undead? You mean Vampires? What's the problem then?” (Saxin)
“No! One of them is a strange skeleton mage with creepy eyes and an eerie aura. The other one was once an ogre but is now also an undead with his bones showing on his torso as well as on his jaw.” (Elite-Leader)
“What? And they surrendered? Did they seem intelligent to you?” (Saxin)
“The big guy not so much but the skeleton seemed very intelligent to me.” (Elite-Leader)
“Interesting... maybe a unique monster? Bring them to me, I want to see them myself.” (Saxin)
“Yes mistress!” (Elite-Leader)
The Elite Soldier quickly leaves the room and leaves the mistress alone.
Meanwhile, a certain adventurer found herself in front of a big hole inside of the ground. After thinking a bit about how do go down there safely she just simply jumps and enjoys the slide. She is just as surprised as Sirius when she discovers the underground city of spiders
“A Secret realm, huh? Could be interesting...” (???)

When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
