Character Glossary

Thomas "Tom" Everett:

A 26-year-old Black Canadian male human who originally worked in a data entry job. He suffered guilt for a while due to his personal belief that he failed to live up to his potential. This guilt only worsened when his parents died during the flu pandemic that killed tens of millions across the world several years prior to current events.

He became the only person to survive the Monster Day Test, out of a hundred participants, which granted him early access to the SYSTEM. Since he gained access to the SYSTEM, he dedicated his life to saving lives and to better the world.

For a while, Thomas adopted the identity of Thunder to give himself the freedom to act against the monster attacks. He created this secret identity because he did not know how the world governments would react to him and if they might restrict him from acting. Thomas still created a large information packet that contained information on all events to make sure the world wouldn't be in the dark. His identity was found out before he had the chance to release it so he gave it to the world leaders directly.

In his journeys, he became involved in current events as he helped take down a terrorist organization, a shadow group, and killing a powerful being of unknown origin. Over time he eventually allied with and fell in love with several Xothican women who were teleported to his world.

Thanks to Tep, Thomas discovered he is a Nephilim. A Nephilim is a person who is the descendant of all races from both Xoth and Earth. Because of his unique bloodline, Thomas had the ability to unlock the power of an Elemental which each of his Xothican companions were.

Thomas Everett is a member of the United Nations Defense Force and acts as an advisor and soldier, and has the rank of Specialist. He is given a fair amount of freedom for his missions by Command due to his actions and abilities.

The Creator:

The Supreme God and creator of everyone and everything. Fearful of a Darkness that threatens the multiverse, he warned Kara that her universe was next to be swallowed up by it. After this initial attempt failed, The Creator endowed his power into fourteen individuals to give them the power to fight back against the Darkness. These individuals are known as Elementals.

Kara:

The goddess of Xoth's universe. Caring and compassionate; she did all she could to bring happiness to her universe. She was accidentally responsible for the Dragon War hundreds of years ago due to them misinterpreting her words. Heart broken by their betrayal, Kara cut herself off from the Dragons which only infuriated them further.

Out of desperation to stop the war, Kara helped a ritual that summoned humans from Roman Empire-era earth to fight back. Due to the trauma she suffered from the war, she forced herself to forget her role in the origin of the war which earned her the nickname "The Forgetful Goddess".

After the arrival of Hastur and his followers, she found her universe dying and her powers leave her. Kara aided The Creator in its plan to create the Elementals and disguised their presence to everyone except those with a Nephilim bloodline. She sacrificed all her remaining power to protect the Elementals and to lend aid to Thomas Everett. Kara fell in love with Thomas, died, and faded away after she kissed him.

Earth's god:

It has not interacted with any of the characters of the story thus far and has kept an invisible presence during current events. According to Tep, Earth's god has cut itself off from humanity.

Hastur:

An extremely powerful being of unknown origin. He originally came to Xoth with his followers and killed the leadership of the demon continent of Almawt three hundred centuries ago in Xoth's local time. Since then, Hastur has instigated many wars against the people of Xoth. In the last war, roughly eighteen years ago, he was severely injured by the Six Heroes. Hastur had recently casted a spell that would fuse Earth with Xoth in under a year. His reasons for doing this is still unknown. All that is known about him is that he is not a demon.

In Thomas' first encounter with Hastur through a communicator orb, Hastur managed to briefly stop Thomas' heart from beating.

Delix Ryezious:

A male nagan Magic Knight and is one of the Six Heroes who fought and died against Hastur during the last demon war. He was married to Niala Ryezious and sired a daughter with her. His other wife was Mia who was killed in a demon ambush. He is skilled in both swordsmanship and magic and uses his knowledge to train Thomas in the Spirit Realm.

Niala Ryezious:

A female nagan Dragoon and is one of the Six Heroes who fought and died against Hastur during the last demon war. She was married to both Delix and Mia Ryzerious. Niala gave birth to Reia. She is skilled in agile melee combat and spearmanship and uses her knowledge to train her daughter, Reia, in the Spirit Realm.

Axel Jordfodt:

A male dwarven Berserker and is one of the Six Heroes who fought and died against Hastur during the last demon war. He was married to three women, Litee, Mitka, and Cenni, but all three died during the last demon war. Axel and Cenni Jordfodt birthed Vivian Terrabane. He is skilled in ferocious melee combat and uses his knowledge to train his daughter, Vivian, in the Spirit Realm.

Evaline Acer:

A female elven Sniper and is one of the Six Heroes who fought and died against Hastur during the last demon war. She was married to Kydal and Tiria, and all three were elven nobles. Evaline is the birth mother of Sylmae Lyvan. She is skilled with the bow and uses her knowledge to train her daughter, Sylmae, in the Spirit Realm.

Leo Ordata:

A male feline beastkin Cataclysmist and is one of the Six Heroes who fought and died against Hastur during the last demon war. He was married to Zuli and Fiele. Leo had a child named Tala Mau with Fiele. Leo was a highly respected member of the Magic University. He is skilled with elemental magic and uses his knowledge to train his daughter, Tala, in the Spirit Realm.

Ayil Obria:

A female lilin demon Slayer and is one of the Six Heroes who fought against Hastur during the last demon war. Unlike the other heroes, Ayil managed to escape from the battle. Officially, no one knows what became of her. Thomas and his Xothican companions theorize that she may have taken the name Scarlet and started the anti-Hastur resistance group known as Scarlet Night.

Reia Zyer:

Eye Colour: Green with reptilian pupils.

Skin: Aquamarine green with black stripes on back.

Hair Type/Colour: Short length. Medium blue.

A 20-year-old green naga woman and Wind Elemental born on Xoth under her original name of Reia Ryezious. She is the daughter of two of the six heroes: Delix and Niala Ryezious. On Xoth, her occupation was a blacksmith apprentice to Jux Oro.

Reia dreamed of adventure and wished to protect people and fight monsters. Due to the concerns that Sylmae placed on her Adventuring dreams, Reia more or less placed her dreams on the back-burner so she could pursue a steady job that could contribute to the household.

She can be described as impulsive, cheerful, strong-willed, and kindhearted. When she went to investigate an unusual storm near her home, she was suddenly teleported to Earth where she met Thomas Everett. The two teamed up to fight against Hastur's efforts to cause chaos to Earth. Eventually the two fell in love. She later urged him to share these feelings with her friends.

Reia prefers spears or tridents in combat and has the class of Lancer. She is currently a member of the UNDF and has the rank of Specialist.

Sylmae Lyvan:

Eye Colour: One green, one brown. Heterochromia.

Skin: Light peach.

Hair Type/Colour: Platinum blonde. Long length.

A 20-year-old elven woman and Ice Elemental born on Xoth under her original name of Sylmae Acer. She is the daughter of Evaline and Kydal Acer. On Xoth, her occupation was a hunter store clerk.

She can be described as reserved, sentimental, cautious, and serious. When her sworn sister and best friend, Reia, went missing she set off with several of her best friends in order to find her. In their quest to find her, they also got teleported to Earth. After a heated reunion, she joined Thomas and Reia in their mission to protect Earth.

In the past, she had trouble making friends due to her heterochromia eyes. On Xoth, this is considered a bad omen. Reia, Tala, and Vivian were the only ones on Xoth that liked her eyes. This connection made her extremely loyal to her friends and created a vow to always be family. After spending weeks on Earth, she eventually fell in love with Thomas like her other sworn sisters.

Sylmae prefers the bow and has the class of Archer. She is currently a member of the UNDF and has the rank of Specialist.

Tala Mau:

Eye Colour: Faded green with feline pupils.

Skin: Orangish-yellow with black spots.

Hair Type/Colour: Short length. Orangish-yellow with black spots.

A 20-year-old feline woman and Fire Elemental born on Xoth under her original name of Tala Ordata. She is the daughter of Leo and Fiele Ordata. On Xoth, her occupation was a librarian.

She can be described as introverted, shy, curious, knowledgeable, and bookish. Tala preferred to tending to her books and would read anything she could get her hands on. She has a great interest in magic and has even taken free classes at the Magic University to learn everything she could. Due to her shy behaviour, she doesn't have any friends outside of Reia, Sylmae, and Vivian.

Despite her introverted demeanor, she is more than willing to step up in order to help those she loves. This led to her being teleported to Earth alongside Sylmae and Vivian where she reunited with Reia. She started out shy with Thomas, but his gentle and kind demeanor chipped away at her and she opened her heart to him.

Tala is an Elementalist mage and uses a staff and her spells for combat. Tala is currently a member of the UNDF and has the rank of Specialist. She assists with magical knowledge and research with humanity's scientists.

Vivian Terrabane:

Eye Colour: Bright purple.

Skin: Olive.

Hair Type/Colour: Black ponytail.

A 20-year-old dwarf woman and Earth Elemental born on Xoth under her original name of Vivian Jordfodt. She is the daughter of Axel and Cenni Jordfodt. On Xoth, her occupation was an Adventurer.

Vivian can be described as confident, opinionated, optimistic, friendly, slightly perverted, flirty, and loyal. She grew up in the Bolaweth kingdom in the Sogen continent and eventually joined the Bolaweth army. After a superior officer tried to make sexual advances on her, Vivian defended herself but was branded a criminal for attacking the officer. She was forced to escape from the continent and went to Erlonia to start a new life.

Upon visiting Skysign, she met with Reia, Tala, and Sylmae and fell in love. While she continued to woo them over time, Vivian continued her adventures to raise her fame and rank. When she learned that Reia went missing, she offered to help Sylmae and Tala free-of-charge. This led to her being teleported to Earth where she met Thomas. Vivian felt the same connection with Thomas as she did with Reia, Tala, and Sylmae, and soon fell in love with him.

Vivian is a Barbarian warrior who loves to get into the thick of battle. She is currently a member of the UNDF and has the rank of Specialist.

Amber Everett:

Eye Colour: Green.

Skin: Light green.

Hair Type/Colour: Long lengths of grass.

A year old adult dryad and Plant Elemental. Amber was born decades ago to the Matriarch Tree (the oldest and most regarded tree to dryads), but was in stasis as her seed went from place to place until it fell into the hands of some goblins that teleported to Earth. Thomas gained possession of this seed and planted it and fed it over weeks through plant food and Mana. As the plant grew, it quickly developed sentience and intelligence. The knowledge of the dryads flowed into her at the same time.

With her intelligence, this dryad made many requests to Thomas that he fulfilled including giving her a name. At the same time, she made herself Thomas' mate by adopting his last name.

Even with her ancient knowledge, Amber can be immature, comical, and aloof. Eventually the plant grew into a tree that formed a cocoon. This cocoon broke open to release Amber's adult form. She presented herself to Thomas much to his and the other Elementals' surprise. They were quick to welcome her to their team and family.

Rika Darma:

A woman in her forties who watched her local police force burn her town to the ground after they failed to pay their bribes. She was subjected to torture and other humiliations that night which broke her mind. In her broken state, she came to the conclusion that the world was too corrupt to save and that the only way to save it was to burn everything to the ground and start from scratch.

She created the anarchic terrorist group known as Phoenix that consisted of people from around the world. Her organization was responsible for acts such as mass murders, assassinations, and even destabilizing the cryptocurrency market. Her organization's power was increased more so when Mordiggian contacted them and gave them access to the SYSTEM through the use of Soul Axes.

Rika only realized too late what the deal with Mordiggian cost and made one last attempt to destroy the world by using a secret Russian missile facility to instigate a nuclear war. Thomas' group managed to thwart her plans and caused her to blow up with the missiles.

Rika, like her other cohorts, currently suffers in the Agony for eternity.

Mordiggian:

Officially, Hastur's recon agent and saboteur. Like Hastur, Mordiggian's origin is unknown and he is not a demon. Mordiggian was sent to Earth during Monster Day in order to sow chaos on Earth before Xoth and Earth fused. He was responsible for giving Phoenix access to the SYSTEM through the use of Soul Axes.

On his mission, Mordiggian made contact with the human shadow organization, Umbra, and even found Hastur's long lost son. Mordiggian's tactics ended up backfiring and resulted in humanity uniting against Hastur. Mordiggian later died in New York City against Thomas and the Elementals.

Wendigo/Ithaqua:

Hastur's long lost son who, through a magical accident, was teleported to Earth long ago. Ithaqua spent centuries travelling Earth and eventually went mad from a lack of access to Soul Axes. He became feral, adopted the name Wendigo, and hunted humans in Canada. Wendigo was found by Mordiggian and his sanity was brought back after he fed on a Soul Axis.

Wendigo later took the identity of US Presidential hopeful Samuel Hawke after his assassination. His plan to take control of the US was short lived as he was discovered by Thomas and the Elementals. Wendigo was later killed by SYSTEM-enhanced UNDF soldiers led by Captain Laura Garza in China.

Lucas Draig/Lucius Artorius Castus/King Arthur Pendragon:

A Roman Legatus who was teleported to Xoth centuries ago in order to help end the Dragon War. His tactics and technical knowledge helped turned the tide and ended the war within a few years. As an act of mercy, Lucas allowed a colony of dragons to live so long as they fulfilled their debt to humanity.

After the war was won, Lucas went back to Earth with an elf named Tep along with several magical artifacts. One of these artifacts was the Alchemist Grail (also known as the holy grail), which is capable of filling up repeatedly with any fluid placed within its compartment. Lucas used dragon tears to retain his immortality.

When Lucas returned to Earth he found that the Roman Empire had fallen. He attempted to create a new empire in England but was betrayed by some of his closest friends which broke his spirit. From there on, he created Umbra. It would be an organization that would manipulate world events from the shadows in order to develop humanity along their plans and to make sure that humanity never had a moment of peace to ensure it remained strong militarily in preparation for the arrival of the Darkness.

Lucas attempted to manipulate Phoenix and Mordiggian to fulfill his plans, but he underestimated the capabilities of Thomas and the Elementals, and did not expect his closest friend to betray him. Lucas was killed during a raid on his estate by UNDF forces.

Tep:

An elven man born on Xoth who was a travelling monk who later became a priest of Kara. He was one of the mages who summoned Lucas and his legion to Xoth to fight the dragons. Tep became close friends with Lucas during the Dragon War and even followed him back to Earth.

He stood by Lucas' side over the centuries and during the rise and operation of Umbra. Tep had a conflict of conscience and later betrayed Lucas to aid Thomas against Umbra. He provided information and membership list of Umbra to Thomas and his allies. Since the fall of Umbra, Tep has taken an independent role in the fight against Hastur but swears to aid Thomas and the UNDF in the future.

President Michael Forest:

The 45th President of the United States. A 74-year-old man born in Augusta, Maine who had a successful career in the US Marines and later in the CIA. During his time in the CIA, he formed a strong bound with another agent known as Grace, but it never developed into a long-term romantic relationship. He later went into politics and eventually ran for the Presidency as a Democrat. Forest managed two successful terms thanks to his charisma, popular policies, and strong relations with US allies.

After the events of Monster Day, Forest submitted a UN resolution to create a unified military force to fight back against the monsters and what ever is behind them. With the help of Thomas, the resolution overwhelmingly passed and the United Nations Defense Force was created. At the end of the year, Forest served his final days in office and left the office for President Marcus Rex.

Agent Grace Cooper:

A woman in her late 70s with a long successful career in the CIA as an analyst. She was gifted in her deduction skills and eye for detail. While she retired from the CIA, she was brought back into the profession when President Forest asked for her help in locating Thomas Everett who was known as Thunder at the time. Through the evidence gathered by various Intelligence agencies, she was able to discover the identity of Thomas Everett. Since then, she now acts as an advisor to the UNDF's Intelligence network.

Supreme Commander Conall Steele:

Former British Field Marshal who was well known for his cooperative works with UN Peacekeepers. Well decorated and respected among the international community, he was the top choice as the new head of the UNDF military. He is the direct command officer for Thomas Everett and the Elementals. During his time as the UNDF Supreme Commander, he oversaw the death of Phoenix, Umbra, Mordiggian, and Wendigo.

Captain Laura Garza:

A 34-year-old stoic, Hispanic woman who was originally a US Marine who lead a squad in Columbia, South America in a fight with local cartels and drug lords. Due to her squads exemplary service in South America, President Forest chose them to be a part of a prototype force for the UNDF to focus on fighting Xothican monsters. They were initially given exosuits to increase their strength and speed. Later, a couple dozen soldiers and she were infected by werewolves but were immediately cured by Thomas and his companions. This gave them access to the SYSTEM.

Laura became close friend and ally to Thomas and his companions and assisted him in taking down Lucas Draig and Umbra. In a major battle, Naidoo's and her squads killed Wendigo. They gave Thomas the credit in order to increase his renown and to protect themselves and their families from Hastur's wrath. Regardless, her team still received great commendations and promotions since they helped save the world.

Lieutenant David Li:

A 29-year-old Chinese-American man who was Garza's squad's sniper. He is one of the best snipers in the world and has even been credited with multiple 2.5 kilometer sniper kills. David is known for his patience and is very direct. He was given access to the SYSTEM thanks to a werewolf attack that he recovered from.

Lieutenant Samantha Smith:

A 30-year-old Texan woman who is best described as the team's heavy and demolition expert. Samantha likes to use heavy shotguns, grenade launchers, and C4. She is sometimes made fun of by her friends as being the stereotypical meathead Marine. Like her squad, she was given access to the SYSTEM and now likes to use weapons that are usually reserved for vehicle mounts.

Second Lieutenant Christopher Jones:

A 27-year-old African American man who is the team's tech expert. He uses portable computers for hacking and drones for scouting. Jones usually teams up with Li to act as a Spotter and to cover his position. He is technical mind and very intelligent.

Azikiwe Naidoo:

South African man who leads the other SYSTEM-enhanced squad.

Marcus Rex:

A 41-year-old successful former rapper who ran as the Democratic candidate for the US Presidency. Despite initial skepticism of Marcus, he proved himself worthy of office as he won the 2020 election. Rex was later sworn into office as President Marcus Kendrick Rex.

Samuel Hawke:

He was the Liberty Party candidate for the US Presidency. His party formed after splitting from the Republican party. They quickly gained prominence in the 2000s and became a serious contender for the 2020 Presidency. Samuel and his family was later killed by Phoenix and their souls were consumed. Samuel was replaced by Wendigo who pretended to be him until Thomas and his companions revealed his identity.

Tyler Scott:

He was the Republican candidate for the US Presidency. Tyler was later killed in a massive attack by Phoenix.

Juliana Asker:

She was the Libertarian candidate for the US Presidency. Juliana was later killed in a massive attack by Phoenix.

Elder Neva Kassa:

She is the leader of the largest elven colony under Iceland. Her ancestors were teleported to Earth long ago due to a phenomenon. They came into conflict with the Vikings and were forced underground. Tep entrusted Clarent, the counterpart sword to Excalibur, to her people long ago. When Thomas' group visited the colony, she handed the sword over so that Lucas could be defeated. Since the fall of Umbra, her colony reestablished contact with humanity.

Prime Minister Franklin MacNeill:

The current Prime Minister of Canada and leader of the Liberal party.
