《Double Trouble》14. Everyone (Part 2)

After a while, the door slammed open, and Stanley rushed inside as quickly as possible. "I got the call and came as fast as I could. Are you ok?"
"Oh, I'm alright," Hilary replied calmly.
"Hey, what's he doing here?" Stanley pointed at Jordan and asked.
"What do you mean? I got here by choice. Hilary led me here." Jordan raised his hands to defend himself.
"Same here, but I got here because of concern. Why did Hilary let you—?"
"Guys, stop." Hilary interrupted. The two boys looked at her in silence, wondering what she'll say next. "It worked, my plan worked."
"What did?" They inquired.
Hilary put her finger to her lips to shush them before continuing. She took the diary and showed them specific pages. "I've written in my diary everything I knew and did, including the ones where we tried to commit suicide, and the parts where we died on accident."
Hilary glanced up to see if Stanley and Jordan followed what she had been saying so far. When they nodded their heads with certainty, she continued.
"And that's when I found out we keep going back in time through an endless loop; this seems to occur when one of us or all of us end up dying."
"How the—? Say what?" Stanley's eyes widened in fear. "So, are you saying that someone is actively putting us in this never-ending spiral?"
"Precisely." Hilary nodded in agreement.
"But who could've done this?"
"Oh, no..." Jordan whispered. The others glanced at him. "I think I know who it is."
"You do, who?" Stanley and Hilary questioned.
"Melody," Jordan muttered, lowering his head. "I think she told me she'd end the torment if I got rid of Stanley and had you, Hilary, for myself. That was part of her plan."

Silence embodied the room for a while, as nobody knew what to say about the circumstances.
"But didn't you question any of her motives before?" Stanley asked, breaking the silence.
"I don't remember." Jordan panicked. "I don't even know why I have these weird feelings toward you two!" He cried. "I just want to see her happy for once!"
Stanley's phone rang, breaking everyone's concentration. Stanley took out his phone and checked to see who it was; the name said 'Nana.'
"Oh, I almost forgot. My Nana likes to call me on certain mornings," Stanley recalled. "But should I answer?"
"It's most likely a disguise," Jordan mentioned. "If that grave is real, then someone could pose as your nana in disguise." He looked down at the palm of his hands. Why didn't she call me, though?
"Maybe she wanted to manipulate Stanley?" Hilary guessed. "And have you two turned against each other?"
"What could she want or gain from all of this?" Stanley pondered.
"You know, your 'Nana' might get suspicious if you don't answer," Jordan told him.
Stanley gulped as he stared at the phone, which continued to ring. He slowly reached to flip it and place it beside his ear.
"H-Hello? Yeah, I'm— Huh? I'm, well, all by myself, of course, why do you ask? Did you hear something? That was my refrigerator. No, I wouldn't lie to you. So where are you? What? No, I'm just curious, that's all. What makes you think I—?" Dead silence rang around the area once again. "She hung up," Stanley concluded as he put away the phone.
"Oh no, this ‘Melody’ person could be onto us," Hilary recalled, scratching her cheek. She turned to Jordan. "Why don't you call her?"
Jordan shook his head. "I think we might have a similar problem."
Hilary pouted. "Drat, now we'll never know where—"
"Hold on; I think I know someone who can help us!" Jordan exclaimed.
He got up from his seat and motioned the other two to follow him outside. They needed to get there before Melody, no matter what.

Marvel's Cloak: Shroud of Darkness
Tyrone Johnson had everything: a bright future, a wonderful girlfriend, supportive parents. At least, that was until the day his mutant brother, Billy, was unjustly murdered by the Police. Tyrone's life was sent into a spiral of running from the law, fighting for a new home, and forced experimentation. Until one day an experiment to awaken his latent mutant powers went extremely wrong causing an outburst that sends him across Universes into Earth 19999 aka Marvel Cinematic Universe. Upload Schedule: Chapters are long so one chapter per week. Depending on how well this novel does, I can make it my first priority fanfiction. Note: Tyrone's Background is based in an unfair justice system so there may be instances of racism apparent in chapters. Nothing major but you are warned.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
