Still a big no to stigma generation. This dude was tracking me, I honestly don't think it'd be safe to just chill in the library having your soul tattooed.
Well, let's see if I can use my skill points.
Alec dismissed the stat screen and pulled up the skill list. There's a lot. But literally everything was locked behind conditions or restricted by levels. And again, none of the conditions were stated.
He looked up and down, scrolling through the skill list. There were different sections for different skills. For example, skill [Fireball] was under section. There were a lot. Space affinity, Time affinity, Shadow affinity and even death and doom affinities were a thing. Alec knew that space magic was a thing, thanks to his dimensional pocket thing, but he was honestly surprised to see time affinity under the list.
The page was varied by different affinity trees. And affinities were further divided by tiers.
Affinities were the base for everything. Yet again, their unlock conditions were not specified. Affinities were further decided by tiers.
For example, Tier 1 fire affinity made the base. Tier 2 fire affinity was divided by 3 different branches. Tier 3 took the tier 2 as the base and further divided them into 5 different categories. So, that makes 15 different branches at tier 3.
Tier 4, 5 and 6 were further specialization of tier 3 skills. Higher tiers took one of the skills as base and specialized it further. So, tier 6 too had 15 branches available, specialised version of tier 3 skills.
Too bad I dont have any fire affinity, man, I really wanted to roast some centipede ass. Whatever, if I need to find a skill I can specialise further. Blood affinity tree only had 8 branches in tier 6, so, my options will be more limited here.
He narrowed down the list to current available skills and the ones with level restrictions.

Most of the general skills were useless to him. What the fuck? Cooking? sewing? cleaning? System do realize that I am bloody kitten? I don't even know where a cat is supposed to use them. Or wait, can a cat even use them? Like how the hell am I, a fucking cat, supposed to sew? And cook? Before he formed a mental image of catboy Gordon Ramsey, he quickly dismissed the idea. I have better things to attend to.
Now, onto the task!
The first skill that caught his attention was under his tier one blood affinity.
Blood bullet was exactly what Alec needed. As the description stated, it used condensed blood mana as its main ingredient, so, obviously, it was a magic attack. Further, it was ranged, which the exactly what he needed regarding the centipede context. While it wasn't clear the exact roles of stats, one thing was certain, if the 'strength' implies the physical attack stat, then there must be it's magic counterpart. Most likely, its 'Mind', If these all status screens work like games, then I can make a few assumptions.
My mana pool hasn't increased much, implying my theory of it being ten times the mean of wisdom and clarity was correct. Just like stamina being ten times the mean of my all three physical stats.
The exact role of wisdom and clarity was still not clear. If mind was magic counterpart of strength, then, perhaps both vitality and endurance have their counterparts too.
HP was ten times the base value of vitality, if MP is directly influenced by both wisdom and clarity and SP is influenced by all three physical stats.

Alec narrowed down his assumptions and made a mental note of how stats worked in theory, using the knowledge of his previous world.
HP: Hit Points.
Derived from: 10[VIT]
MP: Mana Points
Derived from: 10[(WIS+CLR)/2]
SP: Stamina Points
Derived from: 10[(STR+END+VIT)/3]
Strength: Defines the base physical attack skill power. Currently one of the highest stat.
Endurance: Basically the physical defense. Currently one of the lowest stat.
Vitality: Increases the chances of survival by directly influencing the base Hit Points. Perhaps related to physical health regeneration too(Assumption).
Mind: Magical counterpart of Strength. Influences the intensity of magic attacks(Assumption), currently the highest stat.
Wisdom: Influences the maximum mana pool. Any other usage yet unclear. I seriously have no fucking idea what it does.
Clarity: Influences the maximum mana pool. Perhaps the magical counterpart of Endurance. Or base mana regeneration? Or base magical resistance.
Agility: Defines the base movement speed. I don't know which factor will affect this the most. So, i've kept it in neutral zone, neither physical nor magical.
That sums it up. The best I can do with lack of world knowledge. Now, onto the task!
So, blood bullet is a must! I can't see the details of restricted ones, but hey, I can't even unlock them right now. Space step costs 3 skill points, rest of them, one each. For starters, I don't want any physical skill. No matter how powerful they are, I can't just scoop in and expect to deliver a nice punch without getting my own throat slitted. Memories of giant centipede's scythed mandible send a cold sweat down his furry neck. No! No physical skills.
Alec swiped down the green screen, to see if he left any available options.
Nope that's all.
He didn't have any affinity to other elements. Let's see, what do we have here. Poison, Shadow, Death, Doom, Space and Blood. Is it just me or these option sounds very specific?
His species were literally a bunch of demon assassins. That makes sense. There was no point in being picky, where the literal survival is in question. He needed everything he can get to escape this hellscape.
Physical attacks are a big no, so, there goes rest of my available options. Stealth is out of question too, I already have a better version. That leaves me with these two.
Blood bullet:
Power: 80
Type: Ranged
MP cost: moderate
Cooldown: 20 minutes
Shoots the opponent with a bullet made of condensed blood mana. Explodes upon contact and deals 200% of that base attack dmg as blood damage.
Space step:
Type: Status
Range: 2 meter(s)
MP cost: High
Cooldown: 10 minutes
User manipulates the space around itself to send space mana waves within the range. User can teleport anywhere within the given sphere.
Space step is a heavily inferior cousin of Teleport and Blood bullet is basically a ranged blood-dynamite or bloonamite? Heh. Laughing at his own joke, Alec spent four skill points and unlocked both blood bullet and space step.
Only problem with these both skills were their long Cooldowns. Twenty minutes for Blood Bullet and ten for space step. Why? there's no cooldown in physical moves. Even the Mana cost is higher.
There was no point in complaining. The long cooldown was a strong letdown. Yet, he was still delighted after finally acquiring a ranged spell.
Space step, despite the heavy cooldown, if used in a critical moment can actually save my life. Now the question is, can I pass through walls using this? There's a high chance.
He needed to check if the mana waves possessed the same properties as sound waves or electromagnetic waves.
Electromagnetic waves were not like sound waves because they do not need molecules to propagate. This means that electromagnetic waves can travel through air, solid objects and even space. If mana is basically a form of energy, I'm pretty sure mana waves possess the same properties as electromagnetic waves. To test the theory, I have just the right place.
He casted his gaze down on the circular desk he was scrunched upon. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. Mentally he tried to activate the space step skill.
[Space Step]
White waves of mana started surging around his body. First a small sphere coated his black fur, the volume increased with every moment before it fully engulfed his surroundings expanding full two meters in radius.
But for Alec, everything was a blur. What the hell is this. He lost all of his sense, the structure of smooth wooden desk he was seated upon, the pain around his back when he slammed against the bookshelf, the sticky feeling of centipeded's blood down his paws, everything blurred out. As the mana sphere increased it's volume, the senses slowly returned, yet they weren't his own. It felt like he was sharing his senses with the sphere itself. He was the sphere itself? The strain on his mind was increasing, he could even feel his own body seated there, from the prospective of sphere. He concentrated, the place under the wooden desk, the floor, he could feel it. The thin layer of dust upon the rough floor, the smooth structure of desks wooden legs. His brain was screaming down his head, yet, he felt nothing, no pain. Focusing on the rough floor under the table, he activated Space Step again and his senses returned.
What welcomed him was a pain he had never experienced before. His brains screaming down his skull, his body felt numb, every inch of him was screaming in agony. Before he could even check the result of his experiment, he lost all his senses in pain and blanked out.
