《Dungeon Core Abi》Chapter 30 : Prophecy or Probability

Every elf knows about the prophecy.
Said to have been written long ago, it has since been embedded into their entire culture.
At some point in their life, every elf dreams that they are the one the story speaks of. It inspires their whole species to strive to be better. Better than they were yesterday, better than they are today, and better than they will be tomorrow.
"An elf of ordinary origins, humble in nature and blessed by the mana, will one day be born to two hard-working parents. This elf will go on to change the lives of everyone they encounter. They will inspire the world and in turn be named its king. One of the stories I remember the most, is that The Destiny Elf will rid the land of evil so that they can..."
"Pfft, I've heard this drivel loads of times now and it still pisses me off! Why does it sound like a fucking fairy tale, Kya?" Hiroshi interrupts mid story with a blunt question.
"Fairies don't have tails, Master, they have wings. Unless you mean male fairies, then... Then that's... A little..." Kya blushes at the thought before she receives a backhand from Hiroshi, much to her joy. Aura, on the other hand, watches in disdain and keeps her mouth shut. Not that this is different from her usual behaviour as she only speaks when spoken to.
Tears of joy fall from Kya's eyes at her master's touch and she rubs the source of joyful pain with pride.
"I believe that you're the elf the prophecy speaks of, Master. The Destiny Elf. You're already so much different than any other elf I've ever met. You don't act like a normal elf would, or speak like one, and the way you're acquiring power is amazing. You're so... different. Ever since you bought me on your quest to rid the world of dungeons, I... " she goes on as Aura and Hiroshi listen on. Both have completely different thoughts and opinions on the subject matter however.
Aura had never pegged Hiroshi for the elf of prophecy. When her master was cut down by his hand, she became his property. Surely, the Destiny Elf wouldn't take the life of another just so he could acquire the merchandise they possessed. The Destiny Elf is a figure of hope, an inspiration. There's no way it can be that shit-talking womaniser that needs his ego boosted on a regular basis. As she's entertaining these thoughts, Hiroshi bursts into laughter at the misguided fool that's still rambling on.
"How dare you compare me to that crap from the prophecy, Kya. You're going to get it rough tonight, bitch," at his words Kya squeals in delight.
"Y-yes, M-master," at such a passive response, he turns his attention towards the less compliant slave. The one who turns into a sack of flour everytime she enters his bed.
"What about you? What are your thoughts on the Destiny Elf?" with nothing else to do, Hiroshi tries to involve the ever sad-looking Aura into the conversation. Killing her master was not actually his intention when he had stumbled upon them weeks ago.
On Earth, Hiroshi suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. Some days were OK, others not so much. If he were to take a count, or make a tally, then the bad days far outnumbered the good. The depressing life he had lived back then was lonely and hollow. Even at work, the other sanitation employees would avoid him due to his weird personality and they'd leave him to clean his sections alone.

If he would have had a partner with him on the day that he lost his life then he may not have ended up in this strange new world. Unfortunately for Hiroshi, the person he was supposed to be paired with that day had decided to call in sick. That insignificant phone call was the start of a chain of events that would lead him to his current life.
A life that he has been enjoying to the fullest.
"I think The Destiny Elf is meant to be an ideal to live up to. Not an actual elf. I think the prophecy was created to try and inspire us to be better than we can be," having to give an answer as she was asked directly by her so-called Master, Aura describes her take on the elf of destiny.
"So you don't think I'm The Destiny Elf?" completely missing the point of Aura's answer, Hiroshi stomps towards her in outrage.
"I'm sorry, Master. That's not what I meant... I mean, I don't actually think there is a Destiny Elf," trying to avoid another beating, she tries a different way to get her point across. Unfortunately for Aura, her second explanation is no better than her first and she can only watch as Hiroshi's face scrunches up more before he disappears from her view in a cloud of dust.
Before she can even blink, Aura feels an excruciating pain in her head as Hiroshi kicks her across the clearing into a tree. Blood tickles from her new wound as she picks herself up from her seated position without saying another word. Her eyes hang low to the floor to avoid the fierce gaze bearing down on her.
"Silly Bitch. Of course our Master is the Destiny Elf. He's amazing, he's the best, he's..." Kya is still ranting on over on her own side of the woods, yet Aura's eyes don't leave the floor. Another horrendous pain explodes across her ribs as she's kicked across the clearing once again, this time it's back towards Kya. Hiroshi's speed is ridiculous as she didn't even see the attack coming.
'Hahahahaha, I'm so fast, I love it!' zigzagging through the trees, Hiroshi suddenly forgets about the sprawled out woman and the brown-tongue beside her.
"I don't need you telling me what to do you know. It's bad enough talking to myself but with you it's even fucking worse. Yes, I'm stronger. Yeah, faster too. So fucking what, it's still far away and if I wanna do what I want for a while, then that's what I'm gunna fucking do. This is my body and it's finally my time, so shut up and just watch," to the eyes of the two slaves that are watching nervously, Hiroshi breaks out into a one sided argument all of a sudden and begins screaming at himself.
After his rant is over, silence is present in the woods. All the surrounding wildlife has fled and even the wind has calmed to nothing. After a few moments he returns to his slaves before raising Aura up to face him by her hair.
"You will definitely be getting 'it' tonight. Heal her up, Kya. I need her in breaking shape."
After a full healing from the multitalented fangirl, the group heads on.
On the way towards the mountain, they come across a camp of wounded adventures. It was easy to spot the large area they had made their own. It was also quite obvious that they'd been hunting there for a while.

As they leave the cover of the woods the first sight to catch Hiroshi's eyes is a female healer tending to the wounded. She has a white robe on and the green light of her healing spell illuminates her own large blue eyes, causing Hiroshi's cold heart to beat.
"I need her," he smiles as they approach.
"You. What is your name?" he eyes the beautiful human as they reach her.
"I'm Tilly. We didn't realise there were elves in this forest?" she says without taking her eyes off her patient. This earns her a scowl from Kya as she hasn't even bothered to gaze upon the one speaking to her, rather than just taking her by force.
"You must come with me," remembering a woman that lived in the same apartment as he did, Hiroshi could almost mistake this beautiful woman for the one from his past. He spent many nights fantasizing over what it would be like to knock on her door and sweep her off her feet into his arms.
"Why? Are there more injured people? Or elves? I'm still kinda busy with my own squad at the minute. I'm very sorry," trying to let him down easy, Tilly explains she can't help with anything until she's first helped her own comrades.
"Is that all? Kya, heal these fools," misunderstanding her words Hiroshi wastes no time making his number one slave take action. As hateful of humans as she is, Kya isn't one to disobey her master and she does as instructed.
It takes less than ten minutes and Kya has managed to heal every one of their injuries. Even wounds unrelated to recent battle and everyone is graciously thanking their healer, much to her dissatisfaction.
"I feel five years younger," boasts one of the sword men.
"You're telling me," shouts another, testing his bow arm.
"Hey, how did you heal my shoulder? The last guy said it was past its time?"
"H-how did she heal everyone so fast?" ashamed of her own speed, Tilly stares at Kya in amazement as she blurts out her wonder.
"Now you will come with me, yes?" ignoring her curiosity completely and returning to the conversation that caused Kya to heal everyone, Hiroshi grabs the human Cleric by the wrist that's holding her staff.
"What? No, I don't even know you? I mean, why do you even need my help when she's clearly more capable than me?" doing her best to pull free from his grip, she looks at the other elf amongst them. The one that hasn't said a word and has a sad foreboding look on her face makes Tilly definitely not want to leave the safety of her friends.
"This is my group. I need to stay here with them. Let go of me," she begins to panic and pulls harder against his grasp but to no avail.
"But they're weak and I want you to be mine. No. In this world, you will be mine," slandering them to their face, Hiroshi smiles maniacally as the young cleric's heart drops.
"Hey buddy. We're grateful for the speedy recovery, especially since we don't get on all that well, but there's no way you can talk shit about me to my face and expect me to smile." One of the males shouts from the back.
"Yeah! And like fuck are you taking Tilly either," pipes another.
"Watch," stating one sinister last word, Hiroshi releases the now terrified woman and disappears before her eyes.
Less than sixty seconds later and the rowdy campsite has turned into a silently eerie graveyard. Instead of the many voices that had once filled Tilly's ears, there are now only two sounds that the broken cleric can hear. One is herself, the sound of fear lingers on every breath she takes. The other is the agent of death screaming at himself in a strange rage.
"Say nothing," Tilly hears a whisper but barely recognises the words in her deteriorating state as she states at the blood-soaked murderous elf. Emotions rage inside of her, fighting the fear of death in a battle to hold herself together.
"W-why? They... They were my friends. Why did you kill them? Why did you heal them just to kill them you Monster?" escalating in sound with each word, she ends up screaming at the horrible twist of fate that has brought this demon upon her.
Stomping towards the distraught Tilly, Hiroshi slaps her hard enough to send her falling backwards.
"You have two choices. Walk, or be dragged behind us. It makes no difference to me as Kya will heal your injuries before tonight's activities," now that his internal and external fights have finished, Hiroshi informs his latest slave of her options in a disinterested tone.
"T-tonight?" mortified at her current situation, her brain can barely keep up with the thoughts invading her mind.
Without waiting for an answer, Hiroshi strides off into the forest towards the mountain leaving Tilly in Kya and Aura's company.
"I suppose it's fine. Master does love women more than he cares about what species they are. Even if they're human," letting her dissatisfaction be known, once again, Kya tuts and follows after Hitoshi.
Unable to move from the same spot that she watched her friends get slaughtered from, the only word that doesn't elude her is 'escape'.
As if her mind had been read, the last elf left in the makeshift camp, Aura, stops next to Tilly before facing her.
"You can try to escape if you like, I myself have tried many times. Do not worry if you are caught. Hiroshi will break your legs and have you dragged behind but he won't kill you. Death would be a release from such a vile person. Make a choice quickly though as the longer you wait to make a decision, the more frustrated he will become," as the last words leave her lips, Aura leaves Tilly alone to make her choice and follows the two other elves into the forest to see what the newest slave will do.
