Chapter 15
Azran POV
Ugh. Why does everything feel like sh*t. Oh, right. I killed a God and stole his soul. Well, that was a relatively good day. As long as I ignore the fact that it ended up burning off all my skin and forced me to accept a princess carry from Dufus.
But now I have to figure out a way to use his soul. Hmmm. Maybe Navaris will know a way. I could probably create a link to his soul, and slowly replenish my mana, but when his mana pool is gone it won't be of any use.
I open my eyes and glance around. Let's see, it looks like Hasan, Dufus, and Navaris are all in the room either guarding or waiting for me to wake up. I groan and sit up.
"Remind me to have a back-up plan, the next time I decide to kill a God."
"Oh. You're awake."
"What the Hell, Navaris. Not even a 'I'm so happy that you're okay'?
"Of course not. You were fine, so why should I act relieved when you wake up? It was only a matter of time until you did."
"You know. . . .Nevermind. Anyway do you know of any way I can take Marxis's power, without just gradually draining his mana pool?"
". . . . .There is a way, but you will have to listen to me and forgive what I did first."
"Okay. You're forgiven. Now can you tell me?"
"You can't just forgive me. You have to listen to what I did first."
"Why? You didn't kill any members of my family, or try to kill me, so I could care less about what you did. Even if you went and enslaved an entire race, or slaughtered a world, I wouldn't care because it doesn't really affect me."
"I did something worse. I lied to you. I have visited this world before, but I didn't want you to know, because you might have feared me if you know what I have done. I am a God-Eater, one who can gain power by devouring the souls of Gods....Please don't hate me."
"Really Navaris. . .I could really care less. So you lied to me. So What? You think I care about a small lie, that you told because you thought I would fear you. Your lie didn't harm me or my family, which you are a part of, so why should I care? And there is no way I'd hate you. We've been through far to much for me to even be capable of hating you. But enough of this emotional sh*t, tell me more about this God-Eater thing. So if I eat this crystal, I'll gain Marxis's powers? Although if I also get his stupidity, I'll pass."
"Y-You really don't care?"
"Of course not. So, back to the important question. How does this God-Eater thing work."
"Well it basically consists of eating the soul of a God ranked being. But once you do that, almost all Gods will fear and hate you, as well as actively plotting your demise."

"So. What's the downside?"
"I just told you, Almost all God's will hate you and try to kill you."
"I'm pretty sure they're doing that anyway. So, there's no downside. Allright."
And with that I popped the soul crystal into my mouth and chewed. Hmm. Weird. It tasted like some of that hard candy, you can buy back on earth. I swallowed, but didn't really feel anything.
"You didn't let me finish. You are supposed to eat it slowly or when you get his power, it's really gonna hurt."
"Oh. Well that sucks."
Just then pain ripped through my body and my mouth opened in a horrible scream of pain as my body shook in convulsions, before I passed out and my sight went black.
'Ah, Hell. Who the Hell are you?'
I faced this shapeless mass of darkness and could tell that it had a consciousness, so I adressed it and wanted to know what it was doing inside my head.
'I am the Darkness. A Being of immense power and immortality.'
'Yeah. So what? What do you want and why the Hell are you in my head?'
'I am being forced to serve the conclave of Greater Gods, and I wish to make a deal with you.'
Ugh. Typical, just another being who wants to be on top. Let me guess, he just wants my co-operation in a few 'small' matters, in return for a portion of his power.
'So what is this deal?'
'If you do certain favors for me, I can lend you a portion of my power, making you invisible to the Gods and granting you the ability to manipulate any type of darkness, including shadows, space, and black holes, and by extension gravity. I can do all of this freely and with minimal mana usage, since that is what I am made of.'
'I see. That is a very attractive offer, but before I agree. Tell me what these favors would consist of.'
'You would take care of some of the Lesser Gods and eventually one of the Greater ones. If you think about it rationally, it is a small price to pay for my power, since you will be fighting them eventually, now that you are a God-Eater.'
'You are correct. If I think about it rationally it is a good deal. However; there is one flaw. I am dependent on you for my power, and I don't like to depend on anyone for power. So I am afraid I will have to refuse.'
'You are an overconfident assh*le. I have seen many of your kind. You will soon be killed, no matter who your guardian is.'
'I am sure you see me as a cocky loser, but I'm afraid you have underestimated me. You see you made one fatal mistake. You invaded my mind. And I have many traps set up to protect me from any kind of mind control, including the one that cut off your escape route.'
'What?! Impossible!!'
'You made a mistake when you attempted to make a deal with a God-Eater by invading his mind. So now I'm going to take your power. Although you can die knowing that I will end up fulfilling your ambitions and kill those Gods that you are so pissed at. Goodbye. If it makes you feel any better, I will inherit your memories, as well as your powers so that I know which Gods are a serious threat.'

The 'Darkness' screamed as I devoured his essence, sucking his soul into his body. He was honestly a little smarter than Marxis, and definitely more powerful, but since he was in my head he was at a serious disadvantage. This made it relatively easy to rip out his soul, and take his power for my own.
Oh Sh*t!! I forgot that Navaris told me to eat it a little at a time. And 'Darkness' was definitely stronger than Marxis. This is really gonna hurt. Hmm. I wonder if you can scream when you're unconscious.
"AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!"
Well that definitely answers that question. Now I wonder when I'll wake up, and when will this pain stop.
Markal POV
I sulked in the corner while Minerva went on a long rant about faithfulness, and how I should be thankful to her for not torturing me. Yeah RIGHT! Trust me, I'll take torture over Minerva's psychological torture any day.
Who is scarier. The guy who can tear you apart and tell you your a bad person or the guy who can get in your head and make you believe that you are a piece of sh*t who doesn't deserve to live.
Unfortunately for me, I had been unable to escape and her psychological torture had taken effect. I had however, managed to send a small portion of will deep into my soul, where she didn't look. So I had preserved a small part of my voyeurism. Unfortunately, Now I was unable to think of watching Azran or his wives without shivering uncontrollably. I was even unable to consider it. . . . . Well at least not if Minerva was within a hundred miles. I would dare to try it if I could draw her attention to something else and lock myself in a secure room with no other entry permitted.
Yeah, well, it looks like she noticed I wasn't paying attention. Sh*t. It looks like it's going to start all over again.
Navaris POV
I was happy that Azran didn't hate me. I had been worried that he would fear me, or hate me for lying but he didn't.
He is really kind and understanding. He is the only person who truly understands me.
Sometimes he is an idiot though. Like when he just ate the God's soul instead of waiting and eating it slowly. I almost laughed because the pain that occurs when you recieve a God's power is immense, as it changes your body so that it can hold that amount of power.
I am a little worried though. Just when his screams started to die down they started up again even louder. That was odd, and when I tried to jump into his mind to find out, he blocked me out.
Hmm. Weird. Well I can always find out when he wakes up.
Azran POV
Damn. Now I really feel like sh*t. First I get my skin burned off, then I get stuck with so much pain that I faint, then I get stuck with even more pain and faint in my faint. If that's even possible.
Hmmmm. My body looks the same, but I can feel the differece. My body is probably ten times denser than it was, giving me about ten times the strength.
Interesting. Now let's test out this gravity control. I try and feel for the gravity and reverse it. Oh, there we go. Oh, Sh*t! I managed to mutter this as my body was flung through the roof of the house and straight up to the sky.
I manage to stop myself before I end up in space. Hmm. This could definitely be useful but I really need to learn to control it. But before that, I really need to fix or finalize this thing with the Demon King, Markal set me up with. Yeah, that should probably be first. I can work on controling these new powers while I have Hasan set up a meeting.
I slowly let myself back down into the house and look at everyone.
"Well, What are you waiting around for? I'm awake, so you can get back to work. Hasan, I'm going to want you to set up a meeting with the Demon King. And Dufus, until then you're on patrol. Make sure no one invades. Navaris, you can come with me. Maybe you'll be able to help me adjust to these new powers. Oh, and I almost forgot. I might have consumed some other God-like being while I was unconscious. Well, Why are you still standing around? Lets get moving."
Well. Today was a good day, a very good day in fact. Well as long as you take away the horrible pain and the fact that all my skin was burnt off. But to look at the bright side, I killed a God, ate his soul to gain his powers, then ate another God, and devoured his soul. I mean really, how many people can kill two Gods in one day? I must have set some sort of record. Azran the Great, killed two Gods within 24 hours! Yeah, Something like that. Well, now to get ready to hook up with a psychotic Demon King who likes human sacrifice. Yep, definitely a good day.
Lana Bloodray POV
The beautiful human woman screamed as my claws ripped through her skin. Her screams of pain and horror, were like music to my ears and they worked to erase some of my anger.
F*cking Markal. Putting me together with some assh*le who probably sold him his soul, in exchange for power.
Well, F*ck him. I'll show him real power. If I have to marry him, you can bet that I'll be the one to be giving orders.
I leaned over and ripped out her throat with my teeth, allowing her blood to splatter everywhere. I looked around at the numerous bodies that lined the room. Well, at least I had released some of my anger so that I didn't try to kill this Azran, when I first met him.
I straightened and cracked my neck. Ah, well I suppose I should get ready to go meet Azran.
Look out little guy. I'm going to make your life a living Hell or even worse.

Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (1870) (Completed)
In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation. An illustrated edition, published by Hetzel in November 1871, included 111 illustrations by Alphonse de Neuville and Édouard Riou.
