The Royal City of the Mulan kingdom was a very bustling city. The streets were filled with many people and the noise made by them could be heard everywhere.

On both sides of the streets were towering buildings, there were plenty of restaurants and inns among them. Even though the city wasn't as big and prosperous as the Imperial city of the Djage Empire, it wasn't that far off.

The buildings were built in a neat and orderly fashion and alleyways could be seen everywhere. Shad was really surprised by how neat and well designed the city was. It seemed like he had underestimated the Mulan Kingdom.

" How is your royal father?." Asked Shad while he was looking at the pedestrians out the window of his carriage.

" His health is getting worse by the day, I am afraid that he might that make it past this year." Answered Roman with a hint of sadness in his voice.

Shad did not know whether his sadness was fake or genuine not like he cared anyway. He didn't care if the King dies or not. Also, it didn't matter who becomes the new king of the Mulan kingdom, as long as that person is faithful to the Djage Empire.

He only came here to protect the interest of his empire as well as taking care of the nobles' family that were causing troubles and the group of bandits that occupied a good portion of the Mulan Kingdom. He did not come to support anyone in their quest for the throne. At the same time, he did not mind taking care of those that were sided with the 3rd prince of the Nicholas empire.

"I will pay him a visit tomorrow. Right now, I just want to go take rest." Shad did not sleep at last night and spent the whole night traveling. If he had taken a break, he would have arrived at the Mulan kingdom at noon or late in the afternoon, but he didn't dare to.

After almost losing his life in the hand of the mysterious 7th rank warrior, Shad did not dare to make camp in the dark forest in the middle of the night. Not only that, even after that person had failed to kill him, he still felt that he was being followed by someone but couldn't find out who or the location of that person.

Especially while he was ambushed by the bunch of archers, he could still feel that someone was watching him. At first, he thought the mysterious person and the group of archers was one group, but after he had captured the leader of the group and the person still did not reveal himself, that's when he was sure that they weren't the same group. It was also one of the reasons that Shad did not waste his mana by fighting the group of archers by himself, even though he wouldn't be able to kill of them, he could still kill half of them at the most.

He was afraid that after he was running out of mana, that person would attack.

" I did not know you were that tired because I already took the liberty to arrange a welcome banquet for you at the Royal Palace." Roman had an apologetic look on his face. If the 4th prince did not come to the banquet, that would a huge blow to his prestige.

One of the reasons he had arranged the banquet was to show the powerful nobles' family as well as the high officials that he had a connection with the 4th prince. If the 4th prince did not come, it will just show that the 4th prince didn't want to associate himself with the crown prince.

Even though the crown prince was said to be the next king of the Mulan Kingdom, his power wasn't that stable. Each of his siblings was outstanding and was eyeing for the throne as well. they even have the support of some noble family within the capital as well as the support of some high officials within the government.

Though the Empire doesn't meddle in the affair of the throne, if he could gain the support of one of the members of the imperial family, especially a prince, he would be a huge help. The Imperial family was like a behemoth, even his royal father has to be polite when he was talking to one of them. Their power was something that they could not dare to go against.

" It's no big deal. I will attain the banquet." After thinking for awhile Shad decide to go.

Shad wasn't a big fan of parties but it was his first time in the Mulan kingdom, and he did not know anyone there except the crown prince. Going to the banquet would provide him with a good opportunity to get some information about the officials, the noble's family as well the power struggles between the princes.

After Shad had agreed to go, the Crown prince Roman was beyond happy.

" I will come to pick you personally around eight," he said with a huge smile on his face. It seems like everything was going well so far.

Soon they arrived at the huge estate where Shad would be staying. shad did not stay in the Royal Palace but in a huge estate that wasn't far from the palace.

The huge estate did not lose out one bit when compared to the Royal Palace. There were two royal guards at the gate.

" Crown prince your highness." called out the two royals guards towards the carriage respectfully.

Roman led Shad and Monalissa out of the carriage and then entered the estate.

" This way please," Roman said with a smile leading them forward.

" How large." Even though Shad was surprised at how large that estate was.

There was a huge garden within the courtyards and the road to the front door was in the middle of them. As he advanced further, there was a large pool of water which had all sort of fish in it, and beneath the water was some luminous pearls.

Within one of the quiet private courtyards. " Brother Shad, this is where you will be staying. This estate was built by the Empire for the future Emissary, except for the two royals guards guarding the gate, everyone inside the estate was appointed by the Imperial family. "

" Also, tomorrow I will arrange for a book detailing the various nobles' family as well as the major power within the royal capital. Aside from that, I will give you an updated map of the kingdom as well." Roman was trying his best to be helpful to Shad as to maintain a good relationship with. shad was not a fool, he could clearly guess Roman's thought but it did not bother him in the slightest. If he truly wishes to be his friend, he did not mind.

After explaining everything to Shad, Roman took his leave and let him rest.

The residence was clearly meant for some powerful noble. It was quite large and roomy, and there were seven building within this residence itself where the soldiers were staying along with more than a hundred servants. especially the maids, all of them were beautiful, flower-like women.

" Young master." called out Monalisa while they were alone in the living room.

" What is it."

" Do you want me to search the origin of that Richard person now that we are in the Royal capital," she asked.

" Hehehe, don't worry. we will know soon what family he belongs to. I can't wait to see the look on the 3rd prince's face after he finds out how his plan had backfired." Shad said with a devilish smile on his face.

" Anyway, prepare a bath for me, after that, I want you to use your ability to go to the Imperial capital and give Lisa of the Bennet family this letter for me," He said as he handed out an envelope to Monalisa.

There was a hint of jealousy on her face but she didn't say anything as he took the letter from Shad's hand. Even though Shad had left the Imperial capital, he still did not forget about the rest of Henry's diary. He had a feeling that this man was hiding a huge secret and he couldn't wait to find out what it was.
