《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 54-55

Day 54
The sprite woke up this morning. She seemed to have a broken understanding of the language making it difficult, though not impossible, to converse. Before trying to get a solid understanding from her Tiddol, Mest, and I decided to try to teach the language to her as well as possible.
It went well, as in she willing tried to learn, however, she didn’t make much progress. It’s funny, the language barrier seems to be the biggest problem in overcoming the language barrier. It’s more than a little frustrating, but we did manage to make solid progress be the end of the day.
I just realized that I haven't described what she looks like yet, or what I look like for that matter, so here I will describe both of us. She is tall, a good two heads taller than me, her hair is a vibrant yellow while mine is green, her hair goes halfway down her back while mine rests on my shoulders, her skin was tan while mine is pale. The biggest difference, however, is two lumps on her chest that I don’t have. I remember something similar on my mother, but I have no idea what they are or why they are, so naturally, I asked.
I learned that they are called breasts and they grow when a woman reaches maturity. So eventually I'll grow a pair as well. I also asked Tiddol why she didn’t have any, and she seemed pretty insulted for some reason, apparently, hers are just small.
It took me a while to figure out why she had the body of a mature woman despite the fact that she was just born. Eventually, I just asked Mest. Apparently, when a sprite is born from a tree she might need to protect the tree very quickly, and a younger body wouldn’t be very helpful for that. While a sprite born the way most other creatures are born doesn’t have that as a concern and is free to gradually develop.

Other than that I worked on the puzzle cube for a bit. I didn’t make any progress through. I also saw Par testing out his sword against Thes, I won’t provide commentary on it because I have no idea what was happening but it looked like they enjoyed themselves.
It’s getting late so I should go to bed now. Goodnight diary.
Day 55
I spent most of the day teaching the new sprite language. She is improving faster, but still nowhere near literate.
We still need to think of a name for her. We’ve thrown around a couple names but nothing feels right.
During the parts of the day that I wasn’t teaching language I was working on the puzzle cube. I think I figured out the first step, but passed that I’m hopelessly lost.
Thes and Par sparred again today. Which is no surprise as they spar all the time. Par seems to be getting better, or at least I think he is. I’m pretty sure getting hit less is a good thing.
I had fun today. There is something oddly satisfying about teaching someone something you know well. Watching the new sprite improve fills me with a sense of pride, I hope she quickly gets to the point where it is easy to converse with her.
The young sprite crawled into bed with me to sleep. She might be physically mature, but she still acts like a very young child, because she is a young child. She seems comforted by me, I’m not sure why, but I guess it’s a good thing.

You were bought from your parents when you were only a small child at two years old. You don't really remember your old family at all. That's a good thing, since you would hate them on sight for selling you to her. All you've know for your whole life is pain. You are usually quickly healed and receive a lot of training and experience as her unofficial apprentice. It's unofficial because she would never pay to have you registered as an actual apprentice. To everyone else, you are just the boy she took pity on and brought into her home. What they don't know is that you are much more than that. So much more. You are her food. She uses you as her own personal buffet and she indulges herself quite often. You even have the permanent scars to prove it. You have learned many things from her, mostly without her knowing, since you have been helping more and more with her spell work the last few years and her potion making. The only parts you can't do are the magic condensing rituals that her potions require and the mana infusions that a lot of her other creations need. Do you wish to initiate the Main Storyline with these parameters? Please Note: I publish daily.Second Note: I changed this story to a fan fiction. It is based on Swamp Boy. The old story is about 4 years old and was dropped after 19 long chapters. The author hasn't been online since then, so I figured it was safe to do my own take on it.

The Fire Within Can Be Scary
In a fantasy world similar to ours, magic worked similarly to physics, with each elemental spirit magic being tied to a state of matter. Earth is solid.Water is liquidAir is gas.Fire is plasma. Four elements, four states of matter. However in the ancient world of Hitarea, "Plasma" hadn't been discovered yet. The people of this world believe that only three states of matter existed, and thus, only three elemental magic could exist. For years, Earth, Water, and Air stood alone as the three main elements from which all others originated. Advanced arts like metal from earth, or Ice from water were only extensions of their original element . . . so what does that make Fire? Fire is powerful as the earth with its mighty explosions, flexible like water as it writhes around in the air, and swift like the wind. All at the same time. Fire, in regards to combat, is the most powerful element by far. This fearsome power is Alden's to master, but this power is a double-edged sword. One shouldn't play around with fire if you don't want to be burned. The fire within can be scary, you know?
