《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 232

Today I figured out how to get Spellwood to trigger an evolution. I was right yesterday when I said it might have something to do with my soul, it needed a piece of my soul in order to work the way I needed it to. It took me a couple tries to get it in there perfectly, as a dungeon I might be naturally talented with soul manipulation, but natural talent is nothing without practice.
This is more than a little frustrating as now I need to figure out how to duplicate a small piece of my soul, I have no idea if that is even theoretically possible. If it is possible then I think I’m in a good position to do it. Between Spellwood and Grey Iris I think I can pull it off, I just need to learn more about my own soul. Specifically what exactly it is that is triggering an evolution.
So after figuring that out I started studying my own soul. There is an obvious core to my soul, where all the important structures are, the stuff that actually does something. For obvious reasons, I stayed far away from that. Instead, I focused on the rest of the soul, the more massive part, for me anyway, in other people it's pretty small. It acts as a kind of buffer for the soul to protect against standard wear and tear, which is apparently a thing that happens. I never would have guessed. It doesn’t happen very fast, but it does happen, it doesn’t need to be very big, or recover very quickly, but it does need to be there.
This is the part of the soul that you take a chunk out of when you seed new life. And as such the two people in my forest that do that regularly, Azrezel and myself, have much more of it than the average person, with Azrezel having much less than me. He naturally recovers and grows pretty quickly, but I artificially recover and grow quickly. It is also the part of the soul I used to get Spellwood to trigger an evolution, which is a huge relief. I’m guessing this means that whatever it is that lets me trigger an evolution is not something that is an inherent part of me but rather something tacked on by an outside force, meaning I don’t have to dig through the entrails of my soul to figure out how to do this.

If I did end up needing to I probably would have still done it, but I would much rather not.
Other than that I spent some time with Azrezel. I can’t help but compare Par and Azrezel to each other. They are the two most attractive people I know, at least since Par’s evolution. While Par is hot to the touch, Azrezel has no natural body heat, so his skin is always room temperature. That is something I can change temporarily with some healing, so it won’t too big of an issue in the upcoming winter months, it would suck to not be able to cuddle with him because it was too cold.
They are also both rather driven, Par wants to leave his mark on the world with an empire while Azrezel is determined to advance the field of necromancy as far as he can, ideally creating intelligent undead in the process. And both of them are rather competent at what they do.
I should also mention that both of them are ripped, though not near enough to be musclebound.
I think Tiddol and I have similar tastes in men.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

Hunter Or Huntress
A human engineer named Tom accepts a deal to travel to a Fantasy world with the mission of changing it forever. He is given a week to prepare before setting off. Once on the other side, he is greeted by a fantastical world and its inhabitants. his original mission to change this world and have some fun while doing it quickly turns into him making a home for himself and defending it and his new family against whatever ends up coming their way. The story will also follow the POV of Sapphire a local woman who Tom encounters early on in his travels to yield a closer insight into our local population. The story focuses mainly on the interactions between the characters with intermittent action, romance, and the technical side of trying to bring a medieval-high-fantasy people up to speed with more or less modern technology. There will be discussions of mental illness, immense loss, and joy, ranging from the truly heartbreaking to the properly heartwarming. The first chapters are on the short side but eventually escalate to the 3000-5000 word range. especially the early chapters suffer from poor grammar and I am sorry. they are slowly going to be brought up to spec. Red Clay Technical Services: Mercenaries, Magicians, and Marketing
Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones. Chapters released on a semi-regular basis, at least one every two weeks, sometimes more. Also published on Offprint.net, Webnovel, and Scribblehub under the same title!
