《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 299

Early in the morning, I got a chance to look at some of the gear we had pulled off of the invaders, though not too closely as I have a lot of plants in my body. And nothing, I couldn’t understand it at all and I wasn’t able to do anything with it. Which was no surprise, but still disappointing.
The scholars are not doing so well with it either, none of the ones we have here have studied enchanting. All of them specialize in things like dungeons, evolution, plants, alchemy, and other things along those lines. Which makes sense, as we are developing those things quite a lot here, but it is still disappointing. They have called for a specialist to be sent here, though there is no telling if or when they will show up.
It turns out that Tiddol is the only one who has studied enchanting in any real capacity, and even that was only enough to realize that she found the subject boring. Still, she managed to show me a way to work things that should theoretically turn off any enchantment if you pour enough mana into it, no one knows how much mana is ‘enough’ but it is irrelevant anyway as the only thing I would be able to do that with is plants, can’t exactly interact with an anti-plant enchantment with plants.
So finding a counter for their enchantments is a bust unless something changes in the near future.
Luckily Azrezel is no longer puking his guts out from teleportation sickness and is now able to use his undead properly. That is a significant boon to our fighting force, but by the looks of things it isn’t going to be nearly enough. The invaders have been making fast slash and burn attacks against us, basically trying to do as much damage as possible while decreasing the amount of time that they remain away from the safety of their platform as much as possible. Azrezel is able to slow those attacks down a bit, but he doesn’t have the force to attack them on their own base, and with all of our stuff being made of plants they can do a lot of damage. Damage that I can fix pretty quickly once they are gone, but not nearly quick enough.

To make matters worse, we’ve confirmed that they do have an enchanter with them creating new weapons and armor for the soldiers. So even damaging their gear isn’t having an effect. Luckily casualties have been negligible otherwise I don’t think we would be able to hamper them as much as we are.
To make matter even worse Par is too pinned down to come to our aid. Practically the moment the soldiers teleported in to attack us they were attacked with a much bigger force than they were preparing for. By the reports, he is in an easily defensible position and the attackers don’t seem concerned with trying to actually kill them, just keep them there, so they should be fine overall.
I don’t know how we’re going to win this. I could try burning my Fate, I have been building it up for a couple months now, but I don’t think that will be nearly enough. And I think it would be a waste to use it like this. Unless there is somewhere we can pull up an army that I’m not considering it is going to be hard to remove this pest. I can keep trying to find a way around their enchantments but I don’t think it is going to be possible with my plants.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

The Misplaced Dungeon
The gods on four worlds were in trouble, or rather the clique that had taken over those worlds development and refused to listen to the established but less powerful gods already in power were in trouble. Their mismanagement was causing four previously lush and pleasant worlds to become harsh and inhospitable. So taking another leaf out of world building 301 they arbitrarily decided to seed the worlds in question with new dungeons they could control or at least influence. One fine day Azurea, self declared Goddess of dungeons on those four worlds discovered a fascinating world; it was teeming with life, literally overburdened with teeming billions of sophonts. Even better in her view many were atheists and due to the rapidly expanding population many of those were brand new souls. So without further ado she soulnapped one hundred of them for her cliques experiment. This is the story of one of the randomly selected beings, a sixteen year old girl with anger management issues, in fact Mary Silvestre has been diagnosed a borderline psychopath by a lazy school system. MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.
