《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 336

Askos is still taking to this exercise incredibly well, he just needs a little bit more mana and he will be able to keep all of the bodies alive, if not in one piece. Junior, on the other hand, is still spending more mana than she absolutely has to on every single body, keeping her from achieving the same despite the fact that she is the better healer.
The actual work I did today was more of what I am already used to, refining things until they are perfected. I’m able to keep a plant from sinking for a full minute now, as opposed to the two or three seconds I was getting previously, simply from increasing the speed at which I am able to spin the water. Hopefully, progress will continue like that until I get what I want.
The people digging caverns have come across something interesting today, a massive natural cave full of hot water. There are even some living creatures in the cave, mostly different varieties of small aquatic beasts, though I did see a small draconic creature in there that was hunting the beasts. How they got down there I have no idea, the mana in the area isn’t exactly thick, mana doesn’t move through solid rock very fast, and there aren’t any obvious holes to the surface. Maybe this is the remains of an ancient dungeon that died before the first sentient? Who knows?
The creatures inside of the cave were pretty unique compared to other creatures I have studied, one of the beasts in particular had ears good enough to hear and track the heartbeats of every other creature in the cave. It was interesting to study them and I am curious to see how they will change with a massive influx of mana. Regardless, I will try to avoid interacting with them as simply me being close can cause some changes, like easier evolutions.

My Paladins are doing well, they are quickly becoming some of our best soldiers. With all of them being able to take advantage of the skills of the others, as I have said before they all know everything everyone else has said.
The news about them isn’t all good though, one of the forty died in an accident. Ended up falling to death inside of a dungeon after some explosions opened a hole in the floor, and several floors below it. I mean, it’s annoying, but it was bound the happen eventually so I’m not too worked up about it. But something interesting happened when he died, or rather something interesting didn’t happen. Based on what I know, when he died everything he knew should have dropped out of their hivemind, but everyone is still able to access what he knew without issues. All of them claim that he is still somehow there, just sleeping. It’s weird, and probably has something to do with the soul so I’m hesitant to touch it, but it is still reassuring to know that death isn’t a total loss.
It doesn’t happen with the greater hivemind though, I wonder which difference it is that causes that to happen.
Other than that I spent my downtime hanging out with my dad and listening to him tell stories. It is amazing that he still has stories to tell after so many years of never telling to same one twice. I guess there is a good reason for him to be so famous.
Anyway, Good NIght Diary.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)

Quantum Rip: Welcome to Ethos
A special day has come, a day that Earth has awaited for oh so long. The day where they are finally going to try and run the reactor. This had been long-awaited and everyone dropped off their kids with a hint of dread. Hoping that nothing would go wrong, we know it did. Since else there would not be a story. I won't go into too much detail, but only simply explain what happened. Due to some malfunctioning and incorrect assumptions, the reactor overproduced energy. Something which should have been impossible according to all the known knowledge of a really advanced Earth. I mean, they have even started colonizing planets. Have done countless simulations and even built test stations in space. Yet now, something had gone when they did the same on earth. Bizarre, right? This malfunctioning and imploding of the reactor caused a massive explosion due to the instability of space itself. This is also what allowed the story to exist, as our main characters were all transported. The method is not known, nor why they survived. We can say it is for the story, for now... They all now find themselves on Ethos, eating a mouthful of dirt as they struggled for breath. Some find their situation horrible, others find it relaxing and peaceful. Some see death, others see life. Despair and hope, madness and sanity on an edge. What has fate given you? Welcome to Ethos, a planet of magic.Welcome to Ethos, a planet orbiting an exotic star.Ethos wishes you luck in surviving. Maybe, just maybe... You can someday go back, or not. -----------------Release rate: 3 chapters(1200-1400 words) a week.
