《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 2
Advertisement
I started the day by checking on my apprentices, they've gone a couple days without my supervision and I was almost worried that they had somehow managed to kill themselves. I knew the thought was irrational, but still, I was worried about them. I was much less worried when I found out just how much they had progressed, especially Askos. Over the last several days they threw themselves at the task of mastering flesh manipulation with reckless abandon, justifying me worrying over their safety. They didn't try to manipulate their own flesh, they're not stupid, but they did do things that frequently caused pretty bad backlashes, though they successfully avoided getting sick. It turns out that one of their siblings was infected and I didn't even notice. The child lived, thankfully, but they haven't been treated quite yet. They through themselves into their work really hard to avoid thinking about it. Askos took it especially hard, were he not a healer he probably would have crippled himself from the backlash of miscasting a spell. I wasn't even aware that it could get this bad until now. Junior is faring a bit better, she's always been the more reserved of the two. She is less distraught and more solemn. She did start crying when I hugged her though, same with Askos. They already lost their parents, it would suck for them to lose their siblings too. As for their actual progress, they are able to more or less perfectly create a new limb, even managing some outright improvements over the body's old limb. And thanks to Azrezel they had no shortage of bodies. Now they are working on figuring out how to make the entire body from scratch. It feels kind of weird, finding out that Azrezel supplied my apprentices while I was otherwise distracted. It's not necessarily a bad feeling, it's nice to know that I can rely on him for things like this, but I still should have been the one doing it. Other than that I hung out with Azrezel. I bought him some fake chocolates to thank him. Made with magic and locally produces flavors, or so the package says. I can't really tell the difference between the fake and the real stuff, but apparently there is a difference. It's always fun to hang out with him. Anyway, Good Night Diary.
