《Diary of Erica Kron》Day 59

Today one hundred thousand creatures teleported away from my home in the same manner that they arrived. They did not have access to any form of teleportation related skills, and they did not have any equipment that let them teleport. They did have something that acted as a beacon and that is it. It is honestly more than a little scary that the older dungeon is capable of teleporting that well. If he really wanted to I have no doubt that he could get away with not using some kind of beacon to direct his teleportation. I probably shouldn't antagonize him in the future.
Still, I felt the effects almost immediately. With so many people gone everything suddenly got much easier. I've said it before several times but I'm expecting, hoping, that people start learning faster under my much more direct guidance. I'm especially hoping that more people will reach the level of being worthy of joining my Paladins as well, though I have less expectation there.
Other than that I also hung out with Tiddol. It was really eerie seeing her opened up and splayed out across her desk while she was working on some internal piece of her body. Apparently, it was some spring that she could use to drive the motion in her left arm, the specifics of it were beyond me but it was supposed to help deal with the random tremors she sometimes gets. Something about turning that motion into potential energy instead of movement. She talked about it quite excitedly, though almost everything she said was beyond my understanding. This must be what it's like to talk to me when I am in the middle of a big project that I really enjoy.
She was also telling me about how Par is heading to the front lines again in a couple days, he already has an army built up again, though the recruits are green and most of them have never seen combat before. She has decided not to return to the front lines with him, as she wants to stay with her kid, who is not going this time, and she is also not in a state to actually fight and stay safe in that type of environment quite yet. She's still trying to figure out how to get every part of her body working properly, according to her the work she did originally was a rushed patch job that was only half functional in ideal circumstances. I'm looking forward to being able to hang out with her more in the future.

Maybe I could introduce her to Jasmine, though I'm not sure how well they would get along.
Anyway, Good Night Diary.

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]

However the most pivotal character in the novel is Ornias, the so called """"living divine artifact,"""" and his role in the ever changing world of Yeshir. Ornias is in fact the embodiment of a divine artifact that came from the heavens and enshrouded him at birth. Regular Divine artifacts have never been known to meld with a person before, and are instead used to increase an individuals Cultivation methods. Ornias so far is the only known exception. After much deliberation and suffering during his younger years he eventually will find his role in the full scheme of things. Come read and find out the fate of Ornias as well as many other pivotal characters. ****Mature Warning***** Contains material that emphasizes rape occurred but does not describe the act in progress.
