《Vacation of a God》Chapter 10

The summoning finished and the heroes were now in my pocket dimension. Around 20 people were summoned.
As the summoning took place the two worlds were briefly connected. Taking this opportunity I have a look at which world these heroes originated from.
The planet was called Earth. Earth was a special planet as it came from a universe devoid of mana. Earth was also the only planet in that universe sustaining life. The goddess of life Sarah a higher god created life on earth as an experiment. She wanted to see how life would evolve on a planet without mana and monsters.
Pleasantly surprised at how humans have evolved it sparked my desire to visit the planet. I was definitely going to pay a visit in the future.
All the heroes now summoned were looking around and trying to make sense of what was happening to them.
“Where are we, what the hell is going on?” A woman said afraid of this unknown place.
“Uwah a white room is this the famous hero summoning?” A slightly chubby male asked getting excited.
Seeing their reactions I confirmed my suspicions. Clearly these humans were taken without their consent some torn away from their families and all of them were about to be thrown into a completely new world.
“Greetings humans.” My voice echoed throughout the dimension catching the attention of all the heroes.
“I am a god who took notice of this summoning. You have been summoned without your consent to a different world.”
“What the hell send me back! My child is all alone!” A panicking mother screamed falling into despair.
This time Angelica spoke. My voice was masked as being more powerful and authoritative, Angelicas voice was more, well angelic.
“No need to fear, this is precisely the reason why we interfered.” The woman who was crying in despair and the other heroes turned towards Angelica. Listening to her soothing voice helped calm them down a little.
Getting straight to the point I start preparing to send those who want to return home.
“Those who wish to leave please step on the blue circle.” I created a circle on the floor which was glowing bright blue. The circle wasn’t anything special, I just reversed the summoning circle and added my own little touch.

Most of the people went ahead to the blue circle. Those people clearly had strings attaching them to earth whether it be materialistic things or things like family.
Speaking to those who didn’t enter the circle I gave them their last warning. “This is your last chance if you continue with the summoning you will not be able to return. Proceeding in the summoning ceremony any further will change your bodies so that they can adapt to the new world and its mana. Earth has no mana therefore even if you do return your bodies won’t be able to survive.” Of course I have the power to send them back, but I won’t be babysitting these heroes forever. They need make this decision now.
Seeing that no one changed their minds I went ahead and sent the people in the circle back to earth. The circle started to shine brightly and the heroes disappeared from the dimension. The heroes that were sent back to earth would wake up thinking they just had a weird dream.
Looking over the group there was 6 people remaining. 3 boys and 3 girls. On the female side there was a lady in her 50’s one small child around the age 18 and a woman around the age of 30. The male side there was 2 older men and the chubby teenager.
“To those who have decided stay we feel it’s necessary to inform you about the world you’re about to enter. The world is called Eremel and is nothing like the world you come from.” (Skyler)
The chubby male then started shouting, clearly his excitement was driving him crazy. “Is it a fantasy world with magic and monsters! Are their beast men and elves and other races!”
“Yes you are correct.” Rapid firing questions at me I was surprised but glad that these humans knew about the existence of magic and monsters.
“Do any of you have any questions about the summoning or the world you are going to?” I asked.
A female around the age of 20 spoke up. “Will we be summoned as ourselves and as heroes like that man said?”

“Yes you are being summoned by the holy kingdom as heroes. It’s up to you to decide your own fate. I will not tell you your future as that is something you need find yourselves.”
The chubby man once again started to shout out his questions. “Will we be able to use magic and have cheats to help us on our adventure?”
To answer his question I pull up their statuses. Statuses are a forms of identification magic. With their bodies adapting to mana their stats have increased from what they used to be but their titles and experiences have not. For example a blacksmith would keep his blacksmithing skills and be given blacksmithing as their subclass if it wasn’t already their main class. Of course these heroes being from a place without mana have never seen this before. Seeing them all checking their statuses I scan through them as well.
As gods we don’t have statues as we don’t rely on the system. I specifically created the system eons ago for mortals. It’s now spread to every world with mana. If gods were to use the system without manually changing the numbers the stats would just show errors.
Checking everyone’s stats I see some of the older generation with classes like paladin, berserker etc. Thinking that was stupid and would waste everyone’s time I changed them. The lady was given a crafter class and the two older men were given a healer and an enchanter class. These non-combat classes were chosen randomly with some influence from their past experiences.
“About your statuses, you all have something you are good at and have been assigned your classes. Whether its crafting or fighting, how you use your potential is up to you.” (Skyler)
Arriving at the status of the 18 year old I was alarmed. Glancing over her titles I felt disappointed in the human race. Not only was she was dressed in rags she was also keeping her distance from the other heroes. This child had a tough life full of physical abuse. She had a skinny malnourished body full of scars and bruises and barely looked alive. Her hair was badly damaged and one of her eyes was missing.
“Child, how do you feel about living in a new world?” (Skyler)
“Eh? Um… All I want is a better life.” Surprised at being questioned she answered truthfully.
Seeing plight I decide to give her a helping hand.
Giving Angelica a hand gesture she started to weaken her illusion. Right now the heroes could vaguely see her. Her face was a blur of holy light and her hair was golden. Behind Angelica was 6 beautiful crimson angelic wings.
“An angel.” Said the older woman. The mere sight took away the breath of all the heroes.
Slowly descending Angelica made her way over to the girl. The girl was just as confused as the remaining heroes.
Angelica started to pat her head which started healing all her physical wounds. First her bruises started to fade then her scars. Next her hair and body started too healed. Finally Angelica put her palm over her missing eye. Angelica and the girl started to shine in a holy light forcing the other heroes to cover their eyes. Slowly her eye was healed and the girl started to cry. Angelica just embraced the crying girl changing her now barely fitting rags into a beautiful dress.
It only took a minutes for the bright light to fade away. The heroes now saw a beautiful girl standing next to an angel. The sight was breath taking. Angelica whispered something in the girl’s ear and then walked back over to my side.
“Our time is drawing to an end, we wish you luck on your new lives.” As soon as Angelica finished speaking I destroyed the pocket dimension and returned the heroes to their original positions inside the summoning room. Outside the now destroyed dimension only 1 second had passed. The heroes had finally been summoned to Eremel.

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
