I was asked a question I think is very important by one of my readers, and thought it deserved more attention that just a post on the forum.
Here is the question and my reply, detailing how I view this story and why I decided to write it:
Warning: Major Spoilers ahead if you haven't read up to Chapter 23
Quote:
Hmmm, I think I can see what you mean. To me it's still mysticism, but Heller is choosing to view it in a familiar way, if that makes sense. Also I see suddenly having a character sheet as a not-very-logical way of approaching things. If you look closely, you can see what happened there. I may have made it too subtle, but if you go back and look:
There is no game system. There is no spoon (Matrix reference). There is no character sheet! It's all in the MC's head, and how he has chosen to have the Gift given by the Celestial present things. Its all a fabrication, a strange filter he has chosen to view the world of Cultivation through!
Soul-points are DEFINITELY not real.
If the MC was originally from a fantasy world, this story would be exactly like a typical Xiania. But that's more or less the whole point, and why I decided to write the story in the fist place.
What would happen to someone from our world put in a Xiania situation where anything is possible; how would they approach and view things differently than someone who had never lived life on our Earth?

It's also not meant to be obvious when reading the story, but I figured I might loose more readers by NOT explaining it at this point. It's all there in the story, but as I said very hard to catch unless you know what you are looking for.
The whole thing seems pretty mystical to me.
I'd say the story is still mostly Xianxia at it's core, but with a cultivation method that the reader can actually relate too a lot more than the vague explanations most give. That said, any of Hellers abilities do still need to be trained physically in 'true Xianxia fashion'. :)
I'm kind of glad it's a shock, because that follows along with what the MC is experiencing as well But with all new things, soon it becomes the new normal, and life carries on.
I hope this helps you enjoy the story, and I hope I don't end up regretting posting this. :D

TM: Monster
He died and his soul travelled across the void and ended up taking over the body of a member of one of the weakest races ever. Even worse than a goblin or slime. It was ok though, as long as he had a positive mental attitude, he could live a happy life… Nope. Interdimensional wars? An all-powerful cosmic entity called the System that will grant all your wishes for a price? Survival of the fittest? In a universe far different from his old one he will reach the Zenith. (TM stands for transmigrated which is different from reincarnation. At the very least I have my own idea on the difference between the two) (Yes the title is a play on Re:Monster which is my first light novel)

Cable City Saga
The Pillars are vast and their secrets are their own. Whether they were built by some ancient civilisation, or were caused by some unknown phenomena, they extend as far as anyone has ever been able to travel, and on them everyone who has ever lived passed their time from birth to death. Through them weaves the interconnected settlements, both small and huge, of the so-called 'Cable City', with its endless wires and walkways which join together the myriad people living life among the pillars. Reincarnated As A Benevolent Tyrant
NOTICE: This story is under rewrite. New novel has been published. Search **RE: Tyranny** in Royalroad for the new novel.Link- Re: Tyranny Thank You! ------------------------ "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." What a brilliant line, isn't it? James was a boy who had nothing to worry about. A happy family, a nice childhood. What's more to ask? But one day, everything changed. He lost everything in the blink of an eye. The only thing left for him were the memories and dreams of the past. Trying to cope up with the loss, he cut all ties with the outside world and became a shut-in, having no one left to call his own or to rely upon. There was nothing left for him in this world, but still he lived and soon found a purpose in his life, which lead him to create something that could change the world. And on the very day when his dream project was about to come to the light, he lost his life, trying to save a little girl from an unfortunate accident. "Will I ever be remembered...? I wish... someone would." These were the last word James mumbled before his conscious faded into darkness. But his life didn't end there, as he is transmigrated into the body of an arrogant, worthless Duke's son in some unknown land with no memories about who is or any idea about where he is. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Duke's son is forced to prove his worth for inheriting the title. Will he be able to accept the new reality and prove himself by leading this country into a prosperous future? Or will he cease to the pressure of his past and lose everything once more? Disclaimer: This is not a power-fantasy or a 'feel-good' story. If you feel a protagonist should never lack agency (especially in early story) or make compromises because of difficult circumstances, then this fiction is probably not for you. It is a story that delves deep into real world sociological/psychological subjects and explores many topics of gray morality. I wrote it because I like stories that make me think more about the world around us, not to detach myself from reality. Some aspects you can expect based on the tags include:- [Kingdom Building]: political drama, geopolitical/geoeconomic strategy- [Army Building]: massive battles featuring in-depth planning, combined arms, and operational logistics- [Identity Crisis]: someone translated into a whole different world having to rebuild their identity and life aims The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but I guarantee you it will get there. For those who want to skip the slow part, start from Chapter - 35 (Beginning of The End) (The whole Disclaimer section is copied from Aorii as I am too busy writing the complete story.) And yes, just for General Knowledge, James will become OP throughout the story. He is not some legendary guy who will pull out Excalibur & conquer the entire world. Update Schedule - One chapter a day. This novel is also available on Scribble Hub. And again, I humbly thank you for reading it. I hope you stick throughout the journey.
