《Dragon, Silver Dragon》Affairs of the Heart

Haladoria and Dorvus were in the Dragon Head discussing the events of the day. Michael had given them prosperity far beyond what they had ever envisioned. Peace had come to the land, mostly due to the fact that most dissenters were squashed as soon as they opened their mouth. Crime was not tolerated and citizens were quick to report any attempts at any illicit organizations being organized. Race played no part, they were all citizens now of Dragonhaven and they were proud of their city.
“I be goin fer a bit. Got us a contract up north.” Dorvus said as he sipped his stout.
Haladoria smiled “Not stealing our work crew for the inner ring, are you?”
Dorvus laughed. “No No lass. Be a few of us stone shapers. Duke Ramses wants a fountain fer his new place. Surprisenly enough, it ain’t o’ him.”
“Oh?”
“Ya, believe it er no, he wants a statue o Michael. Hope the big lizard don’t see it, it’s suppose ta have water shoot outta it’s mouth. Suppose it do beat having dragon fire, but it just don’t seem right.”
Haladoria laughed as she pictured Michael shooting water. “No, That doesn’t seem right.” She agreed
“Heard Michael is scratchin his horns wonderin at what we be doin outside his new home. Think we oughta tell him?”
Haladoria giggled. “Now, lord dwarf, where would be the fun in that.”
They both had a good laugh and Dorvus waved for another beer. “Ya, who woulda thought we be playin games with the great destroyer?”
Haladoria sighed. Somehow she just couldn’t reconcile the legends with the dragon they both knew. “He is…” She sighed again.
Dorvus cocked his head to the side. “I ain’t one ta be tellin someone their business, but why don’t ya just tell him?”

Her eyes widened. “Tell him?” She said weakly.
He snorted “I knew ya as an enemy and I knows ya as a friend. Hun, ya got it bad fer the big lizard. I know he be dense as a rock sometime, but I ain’t. I ain’t got a clue how’d work, but you be drivin yerself crazy.”
Haladoria just stared at Dorvus for a time. She made to argue, but thought better of it. He had her dead to rights. “I am afraid, Dorvus. I don’t know what to do?” She said quietly.
It was Dorvus’s turn to sigh. “I be knowin hun. Best I can say be take a chance. I don’t think the lizard would send ya away, and it be better ta try, than ta fail by not tryin.”
They sat for a while after that, both lost in their thoughts.

Leveling Up Is Better Than Reality
If you've ever been called a slacker, you know, it's not that you're lazy, it's just that you're not interested. Your values don't allow you to work hard as you wish to live in a heaven-like world where you don't have to do anything. As Gandhi said, ""Be the change you wish to see in the world...'' Wise words indeed. This story's about lazy- I mean an idealist hero named Zellin living in an RPG-like world. I'm going to deem this work as PG-13, but you never know...
