“Next, tell me again how you met him.” [Evelyn]

Evelyn said as she prepared her pen and notebook.

“I already told you many times. Also, that’s not something I want to talk about.” [Maya]

Maya answered in a carefree manner and grabbed the bottle of beer next to her before pouring it in a glass.

The two were sitting face-to-face at a long, rectangular table in the cafeteria of the Avalon. It had black and white checkered tiles on the floor, walls of a lively green and the huge room was filled with long, white tables. There was also a counter on the side of the wall where food would be served.

“This is so I get used to speaking and writing in the humankin language. Your meeting, your training, how you’ve been travelling with him, the fights you’ve been in, how sleeping with him feels like, what you did together and everything you know about Ryner. Making conversation like this is necessary. Now, talk.” [Evelyn]

Evelyn spoke with a serious and dignified expression while waving her pen and Maya emptied her glass before opening her mouth.

“But Evelyn~, you’re already fluent in humankin language. You actually managed to learn it in one day.” [Maya]

“You can never be too careful. Now that I think about it, how do you know it? You’re a beastman.” [Evelyn]

“A friend of mine said that I should learn it since it might come in handy.” [Maya]

Three days had passed since Evelyn found Ryner again. After crying her heart out, she told him that she learnt the truth and had been trying to travel to the world he lived in. Ryner was surprised at her feat, but simply believed her because he knew how talented she was. So, although awkwardly, the two apologized to each other and made up with Evelyn still tightly hugging onto him.

On the side, Maya couldn’t understand them at all because they were speaking in an unknown language. Realizing this, Ryner acted as an interpreter and made the introductions. He kept the details vague and only said that she was his daughter when he lived in another world.

When she heard the story and knew of their relationship, Maya’s eyes went wide, but thinking that such a thing was possible when it was her master, she politely greeted Evelyn. As for the vampire, she looked a bit shocked to hear that she was his slave. But, as a noble that underwent strict education, she didn’t disgrace herself and properly returned the greeting, though her voice was a bit cold.

With their circumstances explained, Ryner borrowed a few books from the library of the castle by using Kelly like a librarian and gave them to Evelyn. As a world traveler, she was completely unfamiliar with these foreign lands, so she first needed to study. Demonstrating her incredible intellect, she learned the humankin language in one day as well as general knowledge.

When she could properly hold a conversation, she dragged Maya with her and asked her all kinds of questions, mainly about Ryner. Before she could spend time with the man she loved, she first needed to know what this beastman that was sticking to him was like.

“I see. Back on topic, if you don’t want to talk about that time, then that’s fine. Describe to me your training with Ryner. You don’t need to tell me about Mana Purification again. Focus on your interactions with him.” [Evelyn]

“Well, I learned various techniques from him and we also fought a lot. Since I’ve been training at a young age, Master focused more on sparring. He said that I should learn what it’s like to fight someone stronger and get used to that feeling. So, until I mastered Mana Purification, I was often beaten up and on the verge of death. But, knowing it was for my sake, I endured and continued to train under him.

Even though my performance was pathetic, Master never once gave up on me and continued to push me hard to become stronger. When I fell down, he would wait until I get back up. When I couldn’t get up anymore and fainted, he would take care of me until I recovered.

No matter how badly injured I was, I always got back on my feet thanks to his healing potions. Soon, instead of one hit, I could take two hits. Then, I became strong enough to take three hits. It continued until I managed to block his punch. Then, I managed to dodge it.

My eyes were getting used to fast movements. All five of my senses were getting used to fighting Master. I learned to effectively use not only my eyes, but my ears, nose, sense of touch and instincts to detect any incoming attacks. Having to track him down and getting ambushed helped to develop my instincts. I was making less and less unnecessary movements.

I also had to hunt for food and I lived by myself in the forest when training was done for the day. It was hard at first and I sometimes failed to catch any animals. During those times, I thought I’d starve as I go to sleep like when I left my country, but dead prey would always be put next to the fire without me knowing.

Also~, at the start, whenever I went to sleep and worried about getting attacked by wild beasts, Master would watch over me secretly. I know because I woke up in the middle of the night once and saw him sitting by the fire. The next day, he would have bags under his eyes. He’s so kind~. Even when his training is so tough I could die, he made sure to properly look after me until I was strong enough to defend myself against anything.

That was also another reason why I wanted to become strong as fast as possible. I wanted him to look at me and be proud of what I’ve become~. Really now, my master is simply the best~!” [Maya]

As usual, towards the end, Maya started bragging about Ryner which served to annoy Evelyn. However, the vampire didn’t let it show on her face. She would get her revenge on Ryner later, so there was no need to be angry now.

“Next, tell me again about the time you slept with him. Don’t worry. I’m his family, so speak freely.” [Evelyn]

“Well~, it was quite wonderful. I felt really safe next to him. My heart was beating so fast the first time, I wasn’t sure I could sleep at all~.” [Maya]

Seeing her speak so happily, Evelyn couldn’t help but frown and muttered her indignation in a low voice.

“… I’m jealous.” [Evelyn]

“Hmm?” [Maya]

“Nothing. Please continue.” [Evelyn]

She quickly put her poker face back on and noted down what she heard.

“Next, tell me about his body again. Are you sure it is covered in scars? Also, he always looks slim, but his body is actually heavenl-*cough* well trained, correct? Don’t worry. I’m his family, so speak freely.” [Evelyn]

“Now, now, you’re right. His body really is heavenly~. Even with all those scars, it was still a real treat for the eyes~. As expected of Master, he has gone through countless battles. For me to have been embraced by those strong arms, I’m really lucky~.” [Maya]

Maya poured herself another cup and began speaking fondly with her cheeks reddening. Seeing her speak so happily, Evelyn couldn’t help but frown once more and muttered her jealousy in a low voice.

“… I’m so jealous.” [Evelyn]

“Hmm?” [Maya]

“Nothing. Please continue.” [Evelyn]

However, she didn’t let the beastman notice her internal turmoil and made sure to write down everything.

“Continuing on, tell me how you managed to get him to agree to… Mate with you and how did it feel? Don’t be embarrassed and give me as much details as you can. I am his family after all.” [Evelyn]

“Oh my~, how embarrassing~. But you see, I’m in my mating season and the urge was just too strong to resist~. So, back then, I couldn’t fight back at all and pushed Master down in bed~. And then, after pleading, Master finally accepted and I just devoured him~.” [Maya]

With her tail wagging, Maya blushed and put a hand on her cheek as she recalled their first time together. Seeing her speak so happily, Evelyn couldn’t help but look down and muttered her real feelings in a low voice.

“… I want to push him down too.” [Evelyn]

“Hmm?” [Maya]

“Nothing. Please continue.” [Evelyn]

However, she quickly hid her emotions and filled the pages with notes as the beastman shamelessly described the various activities they did. Her hand holding the pen was trembling slightly, but no one noticed. Once she was done asking all her questions, she lifted her notebook and made mental notes as she flipped through the pages.

“(We’ve slept together before. So now, I need to see his bare chest, kiss him, lick him and mate with him. Ah, I’ll need to try these different positions too. Maybe add these in too.”) [Evelyn]

Putting her notebook down, she then looked at Maya with a serious expression. Her sharp, red eyes wouldn’t let any lie go undetected.

“This is my last question, do you love Ryner?” [Evelyn]

Her weird question only made Maya tilt her head with a confused look.

“What are you asking now? Of course I do.” [Maya]

“Let me rephrase that. Why did you fall for him?” [Evelyn]

Maya, who was going to drink directly from the bottle, put it back on the table when she noticed the unusual atmosphere around Evelyn.

“According to what you said yesterday and the day before, you fell for him because he saved you, was strong and made you strong. But, is that really enough for you to willingly become his slave?” [Evelyn]

“Yes, it is. If you were in my shoes, you would too. Master showed me kindness that no man ever had. He gave me what I thought I could never have. He gave me enough power to protect myself, to walk with my head held high. It is thanks to him that I am not ashamed of myself anymore.” [Maya]

While retaining a small smile, Maya also took on a serious expression and answered firmly when she realized that the daughter of her master doubted her feelings for him.

“But, you asked to follow him before he offered to train you. So, you wanted to serve him to pay him back for saving you, isn’t that it?“ [Evelyn]

“Yes.” [Maya]

“Then, it wasn’t because he made you strong, it was because he saved you. But, again, is that really enough to want to serve him for life?” [Evelyn]

“It was enough for me.” [Maya]

“Weren’t you simply clinging to him because you had nowhere to go and saw that he could keep you fed and safe?” [Evelyn]

“… Even if you’re his daughter, I won’t tolerate such insults.” [Maya]

The tone of Maya’s voice lowered down a notch and her eyes sharpened to a glare. There was no way she would remain calm when her feelings were being treated as a lie and that she was suspected of using Ryner to stay safe. Her pride as a woman wouldn’t allow it.

“So, if what you said is true, then, why? Even if he saved you, why choose to serve someone you just met?” [Evelyn]

However, Evelyn wasn’t shaken by the beastman’s hostile look and continued her questioning in a calm and dignified manner. Maya leaned forward a bit and locked eyes with her as she explained her reason clearly.

“It is because I felt that it was the right thing to do. I believed that Master was definitely an incredible man and I felt that I should serve this person. That was what my intuition told me.” [Maya]

Evelyn went silent for a short while when she heard her answer before floating a small smile.

“… In other words, you instinctively knew that there was something special about him… I’m jealous.” [Evelyn]

Seeing her expression, Maya’s intensity lowered and she grabbed the bottle of beer.

“Evelyn, why would you ask this? I was quite close to hitting Master’s daughter.” [Maya]

“It is because I am his daughter that I asked you this.” [Evelyn]

Maya, who was about to drink, stopped and looked at the blonde vampire quizzically.

“What do you mean?” [Maya]

“I just realized something very important in my old world.” [Evelyn]

Evelyn closed her eyes and put a hand on the red rose on her chest as she remembered what happened.

“I thought that I could support him. I tried hard to polish myself to stand by his side. I thought that he would be fine so long as he had me. But, I was wrong. I wasn’t enough. I couldn’t help him… I didn’t help him.” [Evelyn]

She said in a painful tone of voice and Maya eyes were widened with surprise. She had never asked about their past together since she didn’t want to pry and she thought that knowing she was his daughter was enough. But, from Evelyn’s words, she could guess that something horrible tore these two apart.

After insulting herself for her shortcomings in her mind, Evelyn opened her eyes and looked at Maya with a sincere expression.

“That is why, instead of supporting him by myself, I need to find other people that can help me support him.” [Evelyn]

“Really?” [Maya]

“Yes, I can’t be everywhere at once and some things may evade my notice. As such, having second, third and fourth opinions would be greatly helpful.” [Evelyn]

“But, Master doesn’t really seem like the kind of person that would travel with a lot of people.” [Maya]

“It doesn’t matter. What’s important is that I make sure he can have all the help he needs, whenever he needs it. No matter how strong he is, he can’t do everything alone. So, even if he doesn’t like it, I will gather trustworthy comrades on our side. If I, a single rope, couldn’t catch him when he fell, then I’ll gather more ropes and weave a net for him… So that we can catch him… So that he won’t leave us again.” [Evelyn]

Evelyn spoke in a strong tone of voice and lovingly stroke a certain word on the page of the notebook. It was Ryner’s name.

“I’ve confirmed that your feelings for him are genuine. Maya, I can trust you and leave you by Ryner’s side. You will definitely protect him from danger with your life. So… Please help me keep him with us.” [Evelyn]

The blonde vampire bowed her head and earnestly made her request to the beastman sitting in front of her. Her noble and dignified air was all but gone.

“I don’t want him to leave for somewhere far away again.” [Evelyn]

Her voice sounded teary and she looked more like a child that was afraid her parents would suddenly leave her behind. Seeing her in such a state, Maya, who was at a loss for words at first, gently smiled and put the empty glass right in front of Evelyn’s head.

Hearing the clanking sound of glass being put on the table, Evelyn raised her head and saw a smiling Maya pour beer into the glass.

“Of course. All I want is to be by Master’s side. That’s why I will protect him no matter what. Also…” [Maya]

Once the glass was filled, the beastman lifted her bottle in front of her face and flashed a teasing grin.

“Thanks for accepting me, Evelyn. But, even if you didn’t, I still planned on being with Master. That’s why, I think you should be true to your feelings~.” [Maya]

“My feelings?” [Evelyn]

Evelyn blinked a few times when she heard this.

“Of course~. Though Master raised you like his own daughter, you don’t see him as a father, right? All I want is a place by his side, so I think you should follow your heart. You did follow him from another world already~.” [Maya]

“What makes you think that I see him like that?” [Evelyn]

“A daughter wouldn’t show such an expression when talking about her father~.” [Maya]

Maya had noticed that Evelyn loved Ryner as a woman after talking with her for the last two days. Realizing that this beastman quickly saw through her, Evelyn sported a troubled smile. She raised her glass and lightly knocked it against her conversation partner’s bottle before taking a sip while the other was heartily chugging it down.

“Ever since I set out to see him again, I intended to do just that. In fact, if you help me, I might let you in on the action.” [Evelyn]

“Ohhh? What do you have in mind?” [Maya]

Seeing Evelyn show quite the evil smile, Maya asked playfully and the two leaned forward as if they were conspiring together.

“I can’t tell you the details now since we can’t be too careful around Ryner, but I assure you it will be worth it.” [Evelyn]

“Oh my~, just what could you be planning?” [Maya]

“Ryner doesn’t want children, but he’s sterile. In that case, it doesn’t actually matter if we go wild, does it?” [Evelyn]

“Wild? Fufu, Evelyn, what could you be suggesting to this beastman during her mating season~?” [Maya]

“Huhuhu, nothing much. It is something that even I can do.” [Evelyn]

In the end, the two really did look like conspirators as they softly laughed suspiciously in the empty cafeteria. Seemingly satisfied to have found a partner in crime, Evelyn sat with her back straight and swirled the beer in her glass around.

“We will need to bid our time until an opportunity arises. So, for now, what I need to do is collect information.” [Evelyn]

Maya drank the last drop in her bottle and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand before asking what she meant.

“What sort of information are you looking for?” [Maya]

“It is the type of information that I haven’t seen my whole life and that I can’t see even with everything you told me.” [Evelyn]

Evelyn closed her notebook that was filled with notes about Ryner and she answered the beastman’s silent question that she sent with her puzzled look.

“I will need to see his naked body for myself. If I remember right, Ryner should be in the bath right now.” [Evelyn]

Although her expression was both serious and dignified, her cheeks were blushing slightly, but no one really noticed.

Oh yeah, apparently the last chapter felt like a cliffhanger for some. Sorry about that.

On a side note, next chapter is a bath scene between Ryner and Evelyn, so rated 15+.
