《The Will of the Strong》Karma and Irony

'Ugh' Alec woke up and looked at his phone next to him on his loft, college bed.
It read eleven thirty am. "Fuck" he muttered under his breath. 'I already missed my first two classes'. He glanced over at his roommate Clark. ‘Still sleeping off the party from last night, typical' Alec thought to himself getting somewhat angry.
'I should talk to him again. It's not okay for him to be waking me up in the middle of the god damn night every time he manages to get into a party.'
I tried that already, but the result was sleeping right before his eyes. Alec could always go talk to the dorm's manager, but he didn't want to get Clark in trouble.
Alec walked into the bathroom he shared with his roommate and two other boys. Looking in the mirror he glanced over at himself. He was a pretty decent looking guy. Not quite muscular or scrawny. He had a short, and somewhat messy head of hair that gave off a vibe of an easy going guy, who wouldn't cause trouble. Alec always believed his most attractive feature was his eyes. His eyes were a deep blue that gave off a feel of intelligence and solidarity. They were appealing but the same time off putting.
'What am I doing I don't have time for this I might even be late for chemistry.' Alec thought while he splashed cold water on his face. He then went through his morning routine hurriedly, before he ran out of the bathroom grabbing his backpack and jacket. He left his dorm building and walked quickly to the science wing of the college. Alec is currently going to Smithers University in New York. It’s a small high quality college in the middle of nowhere with only a college town surrounding it. He is a freshmen there studying Bio-Chem engineering.

Alec had decided to go to college a year early. He managed to graduate a year early due to his intelligence and the need to get the hell out of his high school. While in high school Alec was miserable. He wasn't bullied or anything though, it was just that there he didn’t exist. He felt extremely alone and out of place there. While others held parties and enjoyed their high school years, Alec was just ignored. Sure he had plenty of "friends", but really they were just people that took advantage of Alec. They would act friendly and be pleasant only when they were asking for his help on tests or the answers to the homework. Of course Alec knew all of this and it tortured him on the inside, but who is he not to help them. He has always tried to help other thinking that eventually it will come around to benefit him later. The thing is that it never did. After receiving Alec's help the people would just go back to their normal selves and start ignoring him again. Believing college would be better for him he put in the effort and graduated a year early.
Walking into the science wing and walking into class, Alec sat down in the middle of the classroom. After taking out his laptop, notebook and calculator he was all set for class to start.
“Hey would you mind moving up a row so me and my friends can all sit together.” Said a classmate as he poked Alec’s shoulder. Alec didn’t know him it was hard to remember other students’ names when you have a class with a hundred other students.
“Ya sure give me a sec” Alec said slightly annoyed. He packed up his class materials he had just put down and moved back a row. Just as he was getting settled the professor came in and started class. Today we were learning about chemical reactions when encased. Alec picked up the material fast and spent half the class bored out of his mind. The only thing interesting to Alec was an example problem using the combination of potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulfur. After that he just took out his phone.

After playing on his phone for thirty minutes class ended and Alec started packing up to leave.
Deciding to go get lunch before going to go apologize and ask the professors what he missed earlier this morning.
Walking his normal routine Alec left college campus and made his way towards his favorite local diner. He made his way up to the crosswalk when he heard a familiar voice.
“Oh, hi Alec. Would you mind helping me across the street again.” Said Mrs. Johnson, a local elderly women. “You have always been such a help.”
“Of course Mrs. Johnson, Let me take those bags from you.” Alec replied. This isn’t the first time he has done this. He often meets Mrs. Johnson here due to their schedules matching. He also see her while he is volunteering at the local senior centers.
Alec was taught to always help his fellow man by his parents and lived by that most of his live. He was an eagle scout and often volunteered. He was a naturally kind hearted person. Doing something like help Mrs. Johnson across the street was normal for him.
Taking the bags of groceries, Alec started helping Mrs. Johnson across the street with the walker.
When Alec reached the middle point of the street he heard someone yell.“Hey watch out!”
Alec quickly glanced over and saw a bus speeding down the street out of control. The diver must have fallen asleep or have something happen to him. Alec didn’t have a chance to think about it much though. He only had a second to try save Mrs. Johnson and himself.
He reached out to push Mrs. Johnson away, but before he could he felt Mrs. Johnson's small hand push against him. Alec wasn’t expecting this force and was attempting to throw his weight forward to try and push both of them to safety but this pushed caused his efforts to turn into him stumbling on the ground.
He had run out of time. Before he could get up off the ground he was hit. His neck was snapped and he died quick and painlessly. He landed crumpled up and bleeding almost completely disfigured.
Right before his death, Alec had one last thought. He realized that Mrs. Johnson used him as a back board to push herself to safety! She had sacrificed him so she could get away.
SHE KILLED HIM!
The eighty two year old women he helped every day killed him!
Right before the bus hit him Alec felt something that changed his soul.
UNSPEAKABLE RAGE! IT FILLED HIM AND MADE HIM FEEL ALIVE!
Then everything went dark for a while.
All the sudden a screen popped up in front of him that said.
