《Sword Immortal's Rebirth》Chapter 72: Quintessence Sword Sect (5)

“Don’t worry about it. You haven’t even spent a decade in this life and are already worrying about successors… Anyway, both of us are alone for now. Want to learn more about that existence who transmitted the Dao to your disciples in beginning of the Era?” Nineorigin’s voice was quite calming as she asked him.
“Let me guess, it was you wasn’t it?” Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t help his deadpan expression as he pointed at her.
“Uh, maybe I should have waited for you to ask…” Nineorigin didn’t look too surprised that he found out.
“It would have been difficult for anyone else to be the teacher… Only you can justifiably be the person who knows the Dao and cultivation paths of this era. Of course, I would have preferred if it was one of the Perennial Lords or Immortal Kings who were my Sect Disciples, but…” Heifeng Jiansui simply shook his head and walked, Nineorigin following.
The Sword Contemplation World was beautifully designed. Heifeng Jiansui set the Clear Jade Sword as the core and his entire Quintessence Sword Dao was used to hide it. This made the Sword Contemplation World the core of the Ninelight Stellar Circuit, transforming it with the power of the two Sword Daos.
Under the swordlight that shone like stars and upon the earth that was paved with swords, Heifeng Jiansui and Nineorigin walked together, hand in hand as they conversed.
“You are set on reestablishing your Quintessence Sword Sect this era, aren’t you?” Nineorigin’s sudden question was a surprise.
“Of course. Want me to join your Nineorigin Sect?” Thinking about it, this was the only reason he could think of.
“That’s right, considering it?” Shamelessly asking, she looked at his reaction.
“Well, why not? I’ll diverge after I reach Immortal King to reform my Quintessence Sword Sect. But it will take hundreds of years to reach that point.” Nineorigin was surprised at his affirmation. “Anyway, I was planning to join, but my father could only promise me the seat of an Outer Sect disciple at most.”

“Don’t worry, you can be a core disciple or a successor disciple if you want… You can suck my sect’s resources dry, I won’t mind!” Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t help but notice Nineorigin’s tinkling laugh.
“Anyway, only hundreds of years to reach Immortal King? Your disciples took near a million years and you want to accomplish it only a few hundred? If you were retreading the Quintessence Sword Dao then it would only be natural. But you have decided to follow the path of Void, won’t it be harder?” Nineorigin curiously asked him.
“I don’t plan to follow the path of Void… In this era, I will follow the path of Worlds.” As Heifeng Jiansui expected, Nineorigin’s shock cold be plainly seen.
“Are you sure? The path of World Creation is basically something you will embark upon on reaching the level of Perennial Lord. Stepping on to it this quickly…” She thought for a moment before whispering, “Are you doing it for my sake?”
“I suppose that is part of the reason. In any case, World Creation is something I want to embark on even in my previous life.” Heifeng Jiansui’s answer didn’t seem to be to her liking as she pouted before increasing her walking pace.
Nearly breaking into a run to catch up, he was suddenly asked by her, “Hey, I wanted to ask you… The apex of the Sword Dao reached by you is the Quintessence Sword Dao. The apex of the Sword Dao reached by the Clear Jade Daoist is the Clear Jade Sword Dao. Both reaching the apex of the Sword Dao, how are they so different?”
“The reasons are simple. My Sword Dao focuses on slaughter, quintessence of close combat swordsmanship and the Nine Elements while Clear Jade Sword Dao focuses on clear heart void of desire, flying sword techniques and quintessential transformation of sword and heart. Both of them approach the apex of sword arts, but both of them are different. Actually back then, my Quintessence Sword Dao was unparalleled without competitors. By comparing with the Clear Jade Sword Dao, I refined my Quintessence Sword Dao.” Heifeng Jiansui had a nostalgic expression as he answered.

“I suppose you want to know about the Clear Jade Daoist, right? He was a person of two eras before. He broke through to Chaos Sovereign, leaving his sword behind as a legacy. He is only one of the three existences among the 8 eras that have passed by to become a Chaos Sovereign in my Nineorigin Chaosworld.” Without needing to ask, Heifeng Jiansui was swiftly answered by the World Spirit.
“Then this must be Ninth Era I suppose… Who were the other existences who became Chaos Sovereigns?” Heifeng Jiansui couldn’t help but ask.
“In the First Era, The Black Phoenix who you descend from became a Chaos Sovereign. The White Phoenix in the Third Era became one as a result of his actions. Then came Clear Jade Daoist in the Seventh Era. And you broke through as well during the end of the Eighth Era. That’s the entire list. There were 66 other Perpetual Emperors as well. As for Immortal Kings and others, I can’t recount.” Nineorigin didn’t need to count nor did she want to.
“Their legacies… As the World Spirit, can you point of their locations in this era?” This was the question he was most interested in.
“I can do that, actually I made a list of it already. As the head of the Nineorigin Sect, I need resources and as the World Spirit I can find out extraction spots. Of course, Perpetual Emperor legacies need existences above the Nine Paths of Cultivation…” Nineorigin seemed glum as she said this.
“You have two Perpetual Emperors. Use them as you please.” Heifeng Jiansui was sure that the Yin-Yang Supreme Couple didn’t mind being used like this.
“That’s right… Anyway I wanted to ask you something… Back then, you said something about the bonds of Karma between us.” Nineorigin asked him probingly.
“Yeah. Karma is intangible and untraceable, but it impacts fate, luck and destiny. I saved you by sacrificing my Chaoseed, destroying my cultivation of a Chaos Sovereign. Due to that, I am a world saving hero. I suspect I won’t experience much bad luck or misfortune as long as I live in this Era.” Heifeng Jiansui said this with a thoughtful expression.
“You said something about solidifying the threads of Karma…” Nineorigin asked him.
“It is a concept that relates to Fate and Destiny. For example, a man and a woman have formed karma with each other due to past life, and that faint karma might lead them to meet. This is the so called ‘red string of fate’. If they marry each other, their faint karma will bloom into the amount they gathered in their past life as a couple as the thin red strings bind together. They might even regain memories of their past life together as well.” Heifeng Jiansui said this scratching his head.
“It seems we have a similar understanding… In truth, you must know that I have difficulty comprehending Daos other than those innate to me and this Chaosworld, right? I researched many legacies of Perpetual Emperors and Immortal Kings, but didn’t find any way to boost my understanding. After that, I realized that both of us share an intimate fate due to Karma. After researching several legacies of Luck, Fate and Destiny, I have pieced together a path for me to grow… However, it requires us to solidify our karma…” Nineorigin’s face seemed to turn red as she spoke.
“I don’t mind. Let’s solidify our karma…” Heifeng Jiansui’s casual response caused Nineorigin’s face to brighten. “Let’s enter a master-disciple relationship.”

Tale of Family - Book 1 - WIP
The world is peaceful in 2063. Fusion reactor and Diamon battery had taken care of the energetical problem. Countries were stable. Automation was everywhere. Life wasn't hard anymore, at least not in the United States of Europe. Summer break is about to start and, finally, Zoe will turn 18 and be able to play the game, Binding Fate. A simple video game, a vrmmo, but what swam under its surface wasn't simple. Power, fame and money were but the tip of the iceberg... State: Hiatus because I've an idea for another story. Quick F.A.Q. : - Yuri/female homosexual relation? Yes.- Yaoi/male homosexual relation? Maybe.- Explicit Sexual Content? Maybe.- Full Fledged Tragedy? No. Never, ever ever.- Body Modification/Body Horror? Yes. (Note: what one person think is body horror can be acceptable for someone else. If you want to see to what length I can go, read a bit of The Other Labyrinth. However, I won't go as high as quickly in the body mod/horror, so relax.- Gore? Hell yeah! I love gore! spraying blood and viscera etc...- Torture? Hurgh... maybe? Idk. Not at the start at the very least.- Memory loss/erasing? No, or at least not permanently. I basically hate this trope because it's like taking out all the character grow from a character, destroying everything that makes them what and who they are. so no.- Overpowered protagonist? You will see mufufu...- Will characters stay relevant seeing how numerous they are? YES, MOTHERFUCKING YES, I hate when characters relevance decay over time for no good reasons ^^'- Plot Armor? First of all, a definition: "Sometimes referred to as "Script Immunity" or a "Character Shield", Plot Armor is when a main character's life and health are safeguarded by the fact that he's the one person who can't be removed from the story. Therefore, whenever Bob is in a situation where he could be killed (or at the least very seriously injured), he comes out unharmed with no logical, in-universe explanation." (courtesy of https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlotArmor I love you guys ^^) So now that this is said, do my characters have plot armour? No, because I always have an in-universe explanation, even if you don't know it yet ^^ Something is illogical or don't make sense? Read more, the answer is surely in the story ^u^- Balanced system? If you want to crush numbers and have a perfect equation balancing all the system, that's not the story for you. The system is more like a living being, and the rewards aren't forcibly tied to the level of the player. In fact, the system is purposely unbalanced ^^' Author's note: My goal here is to write a slow-paced story revolving around the bonds linking the characters, be them family, friends or lovers. Fight will be part of it, but I intend to build an actual interesting world before making truly large-scale battle happen, because the bigger a battle is, the larger its causes and effects are. I also aim at telling a story about how the characters actually help each other becoming stronger, more stable and happier. I particularly despise the lone MC type that becomes so powerful that every other character of the current setting become irrelevant beside being hostage targets, so this will not happen. I also like crafting, arrays, blacksmithing etc... so there may be crafting. Another thing I like is management game like sim-city or the like, so this while also appears, keeping in mind that I like MC's that make people around them stronger... For the tropers around here, a list of tropes that I like to use (note that I may not use all of them ^^) (this list will be updated as I dive deeper and deeper into our dear trope wiki.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BodyHorror- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SealedGoodInACan- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/YouAreNotAlone- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ZombieAdvocate (In particular since I see a lot of things that aren't human as worthy to live and to live with)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvenEvilHasLovedOnes- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvenEvilHasStandards- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeelFaceTurn- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CorruptTheCutie (Note: being corrupted don't mean you're a villain, only different than before.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DefectingForLove (Of course.)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainousRescue- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InterspeciesAdoption (For the same reasons as zombie advocate, since I love family stuff)- https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrokenBird (to go with corrupt the cutie if it's a girl)Cover: "The Bard" by John Martin, 1817.

Grey Worlds
A mysterious incident occurred on a otherwise normal science centered world where all of the children from the age range of eight to sixteen suddenly vanished. “Where have their kids gone and will they ever return?” The now childless parents never got to really ask that question, because a strange new element replaced their lost children. This element slowly mutated the various animals that they once ruled over with their technology to the point that they were immune to their modern weaponry. The barren land of savages on a continent far away from theirs also had their children taken, but they easily mutated just like the beasts and only grew stronger thanks to the incident. A revolution of animals eventually took place after the mutations started to cause the animals to understand just how badly the humans ruined their lives and planet. Humans were the slowest to figure out how to use this strange new element to evolve, while their opponents were evolving and growing stronger by the day they couldn’t even surpass their modern technology. When humanity was on the brink of extinction a long forgotten event finally ended and their children finally started to return from the various worlds they were summoned to! It turns out that the mysterious new element that they didn’t know what to call was mana and that it’s everywhere in some fantasy planets. The children brought back a increase in technology and techniques to grow stronger with, which caused the humans to finally be able to build safe havens for their race. They grew stronger and started to finally adapt to their brand new environment. This is the story of a orphan who was taken away from his world, before he could gain a sense of attachment to the world. Who only has his older sister to care about and how he ends up adapting to the new world in front of him.------------------Dog notes by doggo First 'five' chapters aren't what the story is really about and is more of a prologue. The reason why some are separated into parts is because Doggo originally posted them as a entire chapter. The main setting is Ghost's actual world and not any foreign world. So this story was already posted once to another site or this site three years ago… and Dog is finally ending that three year hiatus! The explanation on why Dog was on a three year hiatus would of been written in the review section, but rrl doesn't allow self reviews. I'd have to create a alt just to self review which they obviously don't want even tho I'd not give myself any stars so its going to be here instead. The update schedule is a chapter a week till Dog get a editor and then two chapters a week till Dog gets enough money to pay for Dog’s bills. The final goal is to release a chapter every other day. Dog writes 4k word chapters so they are about twice as long as some of the other authors so every other day is actually more like once a day. ------------------- The part that was supposed to be the 'review' which Dog wont bother editing out repeat infomation since it wasn't supposed to go here in the first place. The first thing Dog will go over is what changed for the first 5 chapters, so that anyone who still remembers Dog's little novel and wants to continue from where Dog originally left off can decide whether or not to reread it. Also Dog is moving over to qidan simply because dog like the app they have. Dog won't go premium even if Qidan tells dog to and will simply move back to royalroad or create a blog. The things that changed over the years are mainly two important things. The first is that Dog changed the first person point of view to a third person, because Dog read a really bad first person novel and it reminded dog of dogs own novel. Dog also changed the thoughts of the character to be - - instead of italics. Finally dog changed chapter 3 completely to make the mc not seem like a homicidal maniac and introduced a important character in chapter 3.What happened to do in the three years that dog was away? Was dog at college and now needs money to eat? Was dog off in space after successfully becoming a astronaut and has now returned home with a completed novel or two? The answer is actually quite plain dog graduated from highschool and was supposed to only spend a year at dogs owners house to choose what major dog wanted to go to college for.Dog didn't do that and is still stuck with dogs owners and is sick of being a neet. Dog wants to move and buy doggy food, but dog is antisocial and doesn't want to work a simple 9 to 5 job for the rest of dogs life. Dog is a reader before dog is a author and the reason why dog got into writing was because dog wanted to write a novel without all the things dog finds annoying. Dog spent the first year reading various novels and dropping various novels. Dog is all caught up and has to much free time on dogs paws. The first year that Dog took off was the very same year that qidan came out so dog was naturally overloaded with free chapters. But now that pemium exists dog naturally has to limit the amount dog can read. Dog is addicted to reading like my very own readers and can understand your frustrations for dog disappearing for 3 years.Dog decided that dog will go back to writing 2 years ago. Dog wanted a decent stockpile incase dog has any other emergency so dog didn't post for a year but then dog decided to change the point of view which took another year.Dog has a patreon page https://www.patreon.com/mclaindog but there isn't any tiers there or goals till dog gets a editor. My final goal is to release a chapter every other day, but as long as Dog gets a editor Dog will do two free chapters a week.Dog will probably also make a kofi for anyone who just wants to send dog a tip and can't afford to donate money monthly while maybe having bonus chapters if the tip jar gets filled.

Theory of Rifts (LitRPG)
You can join my Discord here. Keynes Kid is gifted with a photographic memory and being several months away from receiving Level 1, and a Talent, he finds himself in the center of attention of people who want to shape his Talent. If they can get him an intelligence related Talent, they will hit a jackpot. The Talent Unlocking ceremony finally comes and Keynes Kid receives… Error… Anomaly (What?) His new talent is… useless. Why then does the World Government want Keynes so badly they will silence anyone who knows about his Talent? At the same time... Somewhere in the Universe, ancient beings stir from their slumber, awoken by the system alert and the wall of glaring red warnings. Their greatest fear just manifested and they are hell-bent on erasing it from existence. -------- It is a slow-development story, so you won't find the MC with super powers at the beginning. -------- It is a coming of age story and focuses on a Talent system (in the beginning) with several additions that bring to the table upgrading of a planet’s tier and such (a bit later). There will be quite an amount of rebuilding society as new, unknown resources enter the economy, and a lot of travelling, delving and naturally, unlocking the secrets of the Universe. As for the setting, the story starts in XXI century, which technology-wise isn't much different from what we have now, but it is enhanced by magic associated with Talents. This allowed the humankind to colonize the solar system, but the technology that allows for interstellar travel doesn't exist (yet). Because it’s my first attempt at LitRPG, please be forgiving but constructive. I hope you will enjoy the story! --- Cover by Daniel Gembus https://www.artstation.com/daniel_gembus instagram.com/danielgembus
