《Greenskin》Chapter 14 - Hoof n' Nail

The Satyr's hooves smacked against the stone, his powerful hairy legs carried him deftly along the many small ledges that dotted the steep mountain, even now the memory was still fresh in his mind. The memory of the raging fires that engulfed his village felt like it had happened a mere hour ago. Which it had. A human caravan was passing through the village, trading with the friendly satyr inhabitants when it came. The monster's leathery, bat-like wings could be heard before they could see it, the dense canopy made by the trees was good to protect the satyr villagers from the rain, but it meant they only saw the creature when it was too late.
O'Kay The Satyr could still remember it vividly. The dense canopy was swathed in an inferno as a massive creature fell from the sky, its armoured body and sharp talons crushed the human's wagon underfoot, along with a number of traders, human and satyr alike. The beast. No. The Wyvern opened it's gargantuan, fanged maw as it made a faint hissing noise. O'Kay remembered that smell, like sulfur mixed with farts. A small spark seemed to glint within the Wyvern's mouth.
FWOOM
An inferno swathed across the village, the wood homes sprang into plumes of flame like kindling as the fire spread rapidly, within an instant the satyr village was nothing but a scorching hellscape, the tortured and terrified screams of the dying could almost be heard over the scaly behemoth's roar. The sound was horrifying, O'Kay's sensitive ears felt like they would burst.
He remembered the fighters of the village moving to stop the fierce monster, a combinations of warriors, rangers and numerous spellcasters attempted to intercept the creature to little avail. Their blades and clubs bounced off the monster's thick scales, their armor crumpled or was torn apart as they were batted aside by it's bladed tail or slashed in two by it's razor sharp claws.

Arrows snapped and ricocheted off the living tank of a creature whilst every spell the caster's slung simply dispersed along it's plated hide. Whilst the frontline was crushed beneath it's powerful body, the backline was reduced to nought more than ashes and charred flesh by it's raging, hellish breath attack.
O'Kay was no fighter, he couldn't help at all. He simply watched on as his loved ones. His friends. His people were massacred, innocents killed by a ruthless monster without reason. Without cause. The satyr couldn't fight the beast, but he could help others, his people were doomed, but he could warn any other innocents of the monsters precense. There was a sizable town not very far away, they welcomed the Satyr's since his village often helped with training adventurers as well as trading medical supplies for the mining town's most common commodity, iron. If O'Kay came to that town telling them of a wyvern, they would surely put together a hunting party to eliminate the creature.
The only real issue was that although it would usually take no more than a few hours for O'Kay to reach the village when he was sprinting at full speed, he would also have to cross a mountain range, home to a number of other monsters, none as dangerous as the Wyvern, but still deadly.
That was when O'Kay had made up his mind to find help others. To run away.
O'Kay was gone from the smouldering wreckage of his village and clambering up the nearest mountain within the hour.
He was in such a rush in fact, that he didn't notice the rather ill-crafted and badly hidden tripwire that was set up along one of the many narrow mountain paths.
He did notice that his hoof had snagged on the wire a moment later however, since an arrow came hurtling down from above him and sunk into his shoulder.

The next thing he noticed were two figures clambering down from above towards him, a muscular looking humanoid monster, thick patches of hair and fur covering his body and growing around his head into an admittedly glurious mane. Behind that monster was a much smaller creature, one he recognised from a manual he'd been gifted by a human trader a while ago, it's ugly, green little frame matched the illustrations he'd seen in Valon's Guide To Killing Garbage Mobs. A goblin.

Adagio of the Enlightened
The Elders will tell you the stories and lore. Of our ancestors, their deeds, and of the foes of yore. They will praise to you the chariot, and how it flew to the stars. How it stole the sun's light and slew the night’s roar. The Shamans will tell you the tales of their wisdom. Their wars on schism, and the unlettered world of ours before. Perhaps they will sing you the songs of what our clans' ancient customs tore. Poems of how our ancestors took what the discs had offered them, the manna and the mundane, and made it more. The kings will tell you of the follies, the sins, and the anecdotes of all our ancestors' wrongs. They will curse to you their names, the Ender of Fate and the Ruined Song. How they had dug up the hearts of the discs, euchred its relics, and blasphemed its prophecies, with oracles withdrawn. But they will only tell you the legends, recount the myths, and sing the allegories washed ashore. The Elders, the Shamans, and the kings can only retell what the storytellers of their own time had voiced. What they have read in books or heard in the minstrels' songs they adore. They don't know what really happened. They were never there. They can't tell you how our ancestors slew the angels from the sky, and sent them back to where they belonged. How they poisoned our minds, and made our people slothful and feeble, with the reforms they had undergone. But I can.I can tell you how the Ender of Fate severed destiny's strings, weakened them, and weaved them to our feeble flesh and souls.I can tell you how the Ruined song razed the heavens with her blood-stained melody, and reshaped our hell into utopia, with the deaths she deplored.Because I was there. I can tell you the truth, with my virtue strong. ----> Disclaimer: This will be a slow-burn, character-driven, non-harem, slice-of-life web novel with cultivation and kingdom-building elements. Not So Bold
A store clerk wakes up one day in a body not his own. Then wakes up back in his bed, it was just a dream. Right? He soon finds himself living a duel life, bouncing between his mundane life as a shelf stuffer and a strange new one. One where he has floppy ears and itty bitty paws. Notice of Hiatus: At the moment I'm going though a bit of turbulence and won't be able to update for a while. I'm also unsure about weekly/monthly releases. I'm considering writing a large group of chapters then posting them all at once or otherwise setting up releases in a way that makes sense. I'm still figuring out how to go about this particular endevor and thank you for your patience.

Depravity and Debauchery in the Southern Kingdoms
In a fantasy world of peace and prosperity, the elves decide the world is too diverse and create terrible weapons of mass destruction to corrupt the other races and maintain their superiority. Centuries later, they have completed their designs, but they didn't account for the everlasting influence of corruption, as it now creeps into their lands. This is the story of what men with no morals and nothing to lose set free upon the world after excessive consumption of both natural and unnatural substances. Corruption, vice and perversion haunt our protagonist. Will one writer fight against the terrible evil and obscenity, or will he fall to the depravity and debauchery of the southern Kingdoms? This story is about a bunch of terrible characters doing a bunch of terrible things. It will not be long, but I hope is an entertaining read!
