《Greenskin》Chapter 37 - A Mother's Gift
Advertisement
Folds of mottled green skin, grotequesly decorated and painted with bleeding, pimples and dangling sacks of puss; red and yellow waterfalls and rivers carved there path between folds of pallored skin, pooling onto the ground beside this abominable creature. The stack of green flesh rose upwards to nearly eight-feet high, but was considerably wider than that, taking up close to a third of the great stone chamber.
Clean-picked bones lay in a pile beside the monster, rising to almost half the grotesque beast's height, smeared with the same blood and gross filth that poured from the monsters body.
A gurgling erupted from the creature, words billowing and belching from a mouth Steal couldn't see.
"Child, you are without my gifts... come to this beautiful body of mine, and I shall bestow upon you my wonderful gifts"
It was odd, the creature that referred to him as 'child' spoke the same tongue as Steal, it was goblinoid, but structured differently, it gave a different air than every conversation he'd had with his own kind, it was more formal... Almost regal, though the goblin had little understanding of concepts such as social hierarchies or nobility.
Steal took a step forwards, the voice was uncomfortably alluring, though it belched and gurgled with each syllable, he felt himself attracted to it, he must go to Mother...
A voice crashed against his ears "Little green one, mind helping out?" It was familiar, that of the dark one, the human. His head turned, feet staying firm on the stone, no longer moving forwards.
The two humans were hanging upside down, their weapons and gear splayed out on the ground, hands bound to stop any of them from casting spells or making use of any tricks at their disposal. Kor'Ak's mouth was pouring blood, he gave a small smirk to the goblin, showing off his red-stained teeth, a few were chipped slightly, small cracks and imperfections along once white and (almost) straight teeth.

The blood wasn't Kor'Ak's though, the small spatters of yellow and green goo mixed in with the crimson meant even though some of it might be the human's, a fair portion of the lifeblood pouring from his mouth was that of a Wretched.
Steal smirked, he stepped backwards, eyes locked on the amorphous blob of flesh that towered above him, his hand gripped the hilt of his knife; he saw the Wretched guard begin to turn around, to check on the goblin. Perhaps there was usually a certain noise or occurence that happened when a goblin took this grotesque mother's gifts. Which clearly wasn't happening at this very moment.
There was no way he could fight his way out of this cave, too many Wretched for him to deal with. He turned on his heels, feet slapping on the stone as he made his way to the humans, deftly springing over the bloody corpse of the bandit he hadn't paid any attention to, the body was half-bound, as if he'd died whilst they were still working.
Nevermind, that was a life the goblin didn't care for in the slightest.
The dirk cut it's way through the rope that bound Kor'Ak's legs.
Or maybe it didn't.
"Shit!" The goblin snarled in it's rugged tongue, footsteps from behind, the sound of slapping flesh and popping blisters.
He didn't have much time.
Steal's blade began to saw through the rope, thick strands splitting from the main, taught rope.
More footsteps, a gurgling voice erupted from behind him, he could hear something viscuous slap against the stone with each sordid syllable "You are no child of mineeeee! Children, get the little one!"
The voice bounced between the walls, echoing through the entire cave system.
It was met by the sound of scrambling, scratching nails and screams that drowned out the booming gargle.

He didn't have much time, the creature's heart was pounding, he saw Kor'Ak's eyes widen, something looming behind them. His blade cut it's path through the last few strands. The rope snapped, the humans legs parted as he clambered up to his feet, footsteps behind him, the Steal watched Kor'Ak's armored foot lash out the second he could stand, a squeal and scream from behind him, then bones crunched and caved inwards.
Kor'Ak was howling now, roaring.
Steal darted sideways, dirk cutting and sawing away at the rope that bound Kelvin.
You Have Suffered 36 Damage
The goblin felt a blade pierce his side, a chunk of flesh was torn from his waist by a jagged, feces splattered spearhead. He grit his teeth and kept on sawing as the blade pulled it's way back through his waist, it was a horrid feeling, jagged metal catching and tearing away strips of muscle and fat with it.
Whatever was behind him was quickly battered away by an iron boot.
At long last, his thin blade cut it's way through Kelvin's rope, as the wizard clattered to the ground, he rounded on Steal, offering up his bound wrists to the creature.
Steal nodded, then obliged, these ropes were thinner, but still tough, he could hear the sound of Kor'Ak fighting, slamming his shoulders and lashing out with kicks. Finally, these ropes gave, Kelvin dropped low, grabbing a series of daggers, and a dark ochre orb. Kor'Ak stepped back as Kelvin took his place, daggers whirling as the thin man dashed into combat, Kor'Ak made his way besides Steal, kneeling low and offering the goblin his bound wrists.
Like before, Steal obliged, sawing through the thinner ropes. Finally, with his human companions freed, the goblin whirled around again to see what they faced.
It looked endless, out of the one entrance, they barreled in single-file, quickly setting up defensively around the bulbous behemoth.
A gurgling sound, then a light, it was sickly, green, pulsing from a crystal that formed above the meaty 'mother's' mass.
Kelvin fell back to Steal, Kor'Ak following him.
The wizard howled out as the dim green light burst into an almost blinding brightness.
"Arcane Barrier!"
