《Greenskin》Chapter 73 - Killers Bite

Hurriedly, the ground rushed towards him as Steal strook the ground, keeping his grip on his mace as he sluggishly pulled himself to his feet, eyes searching for the dwarf and vampire. He found them quickly, the girl feeding on the dwarf.
The veins at Hard's throat pulsed as his skin grew paler with each passing second, he was struggling against her now, though his movements were weak for such a brawny man, without a weapon to strike with, he went to headbutt her, only to have her fangs rend deeper into his flesh, blood flowing down along his breastplate, carving crimson streams along his surcoat, or what remained of it's flame-kissed and blade-rent cloth.
Steal watched on as Hard was dropped from her grip, slumping on the floor, gasping and clutching at his throat.
The pale girl's skin was smeared with red around his mouth, a macabre lipstick that parted as she smiled wide again "Turns out it does taste better..." Her smile contorted to a frown as she stared down at the dwarf "Oh, don't worry, I'll let you live, atleast long enough for you to see your... men fall like you." Melissa knelt at the dwarf's side, pressing a slender finger to his lips and shushing him as he gasped, Hard took the opportunity to snap forwards, trying to sink his teeth into her bony finger, though she quickly pulled it away as his teeth snapped shut around nothing.
His feet struck the wood, propelling him forwards as Steal brought his mace up and over his head, hurtling towards Melissa as fast as his legs could carry him. The distance between them was closed in a few seconds, long enough for her to see the goblin coming, long enough for her to snatch his mace from his hands and strike him squarely in the nose, dainty arms and slender fists slamming him into the ground, the wood splintering beneath him. He rolled to one side as a heeled boot pierced through the wood where his head had previously been.
Steal threw himself backwards as a sharp-nailed hand rent at his flesh, flaying his back in thin green strips.

The pain was coursing through him now, his brain has pounding in his skull, survival instincts screaming at him to flee, his body felt tired, the warmth he was filled with dimming with each passing moment. His thoughts were jumbled, trying to think of what he could do. All thought left him as another hand thrust towards him like a spear, he brought his gauntleted arm to bear insinctually, the metal punctured by her strike, but nevertheless having slowed it as it sheered through his flesh.
Blood came pouring again as he reeled everbackwards, retreating and backing away, barely able to fight back other than to mitigate what damage her strikes could cause him.
Steel on wood.
The vampire was rearing to strike Steal again one moment, then gone the next, a dark figure charging through the goblin's line of sight once again as Kor'Ak slammed into her, knocking her from her feet and sending the figure rolling back on the wooden floor in a tangle of cloth and flesh.
Kor'Ak pulled a blade that was embedded in his side from him, handing it's hilt to Steal, blade still dripping with blood. Steal took up the blade quickly, re-emboldened by the return of his ally. Adolfus clicked at Steal's side, all 8 legs tapping eagerly on the ground as the three of them stood against the slender, soot-covered and indescribably dangerous woman.
Crimson eyes seemed to widen as Melissa picked herself from the ground, taking in the three that stood before her. She glanced to her side, her skeletal horde was slowly being taken apart, bone by bone as the paladin's struck whenever they found opportunity. Emeraldine flames slowly dying down as her warriors had seemingly ran out of magic.
Her sneer was wide as she faced them down. "Looks like I'll have to finish you off and save my darling Hard for a snack later."
Her response came in the rush of Steal, 6 pairs of leg skittering, stomping and striking against the ground as the trio began to close the distance.
Kor'Ak launched his weapon towards her, sending it spinning through the air as he ruffled through a bag at his side mid-sprint, she snatched the spinning weapon and launched it back, sending it clattering against his shield. Steal lunged upwards with the blade, intent on piercing upwards through her throat, her back arched and her head snapped back, the blade snatching at empty air as she span backwards, her heel lunging out and slamming into Steal's chest.

Adolfus was already hurtling through the air, mandibles clicking together, only for a pale hand to snatch her from the air by the abdomen and send her slamming into the ground. Steal's blade cut a wide swathe of air, through it's tip scratched a long line through the woman's corset. A metal object flew just over Steal's head, Melissa caught the cylinder as it violently hissed.
Something Steal had seen before, he turned on his heels and sprinted backwards, moving to dart behind Kor'Ak, the man's shield raised defensively. Adolfus was copying her master, her legs carrying her as fast as they could.
The hissing grew louder, then the room echoed with a violent howl as the cylinder erupted, painting the vampire red as shrapnel carved rugged red lines across her body, slicing through her skirt and corset with ease. What didn't pierce her went hurtling off in differenty directions, shrapnel striking like a hail against Kor'Ak's shield.
Hurriedly, the three of them burst forwards, Kor'Ak was ahead of them again, a wall of steel that barrelled onwards, Melissa left the ground just before Kor'Ak would strike her, gripping onto his shield as she vaulted over him, her free hand gripped at his throat, needle-like nails sliding into the flesh under his chin and bringing him down in a spasm of pain.
Her heels sent splinters up into the air as they struck the ground, her hand lashed out and met Steal mid-charge, knitting around his throat and bringing him to the ground. She knelt down, slammig the goblin's head into the floor.
The world span as he looked up to the snarling woman, her fangs wide and becoming more fuzzy and indistinct as he felt the rush of air as his skull was slammed into the ground again.
Steal swallowed red ichor as he was slammed into the ground again, she was stammering something between her snarls, his head was swimming, his ears rang with dulcet tones, her words were indistuigishable. Her focus was on him though, her eyes were narrowed, a glistening tear mixing with the crimson that was splashed upon her face.
Her eye's finally widened as Adolfus' head peered over her should and her mandibles sank at long last into the vampire's flesh.
The pale skin of her exposed shoulder instantly turned a sickly green as venom pumped from Adolfus' mandibles into her flesh. The flesh cracked and rotted in a split second, racing down the length of her arm in but a moment as her entire left shoulder was quickly blackening, the rot slowly seeped upwards towards her torso, only stopped when she prised the spider from her shoulder and sent her crashing into a nearby wall.
Her snarl grew wider as she stumbled away, her un-corrupted arm gripped her infect should and twisted, bone popped and she screamed, louder than Steal had fought imaginable. Her nails dug at her rotted flesh, rending it away in sloughs of blackened meat and yellow pus, she tore desperately and crumbling sinew until what was left of her arm hit the ground with a dull thud. Her eyes were wide, she was biting back any further screams, coppery crimson and salty tears mixing into an ocean that rolled down her face.
She snarled something against through quivering lips. "DETONATE DEAD!"
The blackened skeletons that remained went still, shuddering quickly for a moment before erupting into a cloud of black smog, highlighted by swathes of emerladine flame that flooded the room.
When the smog settled and the flames died, she was absent. Those that remained were sputtering out gouts of black smoke and clutching their wounds, several paladin's collapsing now that the fighting had finally ended.
She was gone, but they were alive.

Changement : Version Pile [French]
Notice: This story is in French, not in english, mainly because of my poor english. I may translate it later if I get better, and hopefully I will. - Author's note: this story is a concept. During the first chapter, the main character is faced with a major decision, which will change his life forever, and, not knowing what to do, he decide to play heads or tails, and let fate choose for him. And so there will be two versions of this story, one for each of the result, and their consequences for the main character, as well as all those around him. Here, he got tails.
