《Cliche?》Chapter 15: Audience

Ira made a mad dash out of the throne room. It seems he wasn’t keen on angering Kel’thul any longer than he already had. I turned to find and then follow him, but Kel’thul stopped me.
“You. Veloth, was it? Stay here a moment.” His voice was very commanding, so I stopped and turned back to him.
“Yes?” I simply asked.
“I cannot simply let a being like you wander about, so tell me, what are your goals? What do you plan to do, now that you are in another world not your own?”
“Hmmm… Well, I have been told my control of mana is… rampant… so I intend to find a schooling to learn how to control my mana, and possibly learn new things. I think I would also like to learn martial arts for both my beast form and humanoid form.” I replied after thinking about it for the moment. That was my immediate goal, to get strong enough to challenge the gods, since it seemed like I was involved in such a war, if that Zahramiik was telling me the truth. A school would also be a good place to learn about the gods without drawing too much attention to myself, in theory. I should ask Kel’thul about Zahramiik while I am at it.
I should also learn about summoning circles, because although I stared intently at the circle that summoned me, I could not memorize its intricacies, nor could I understand how it worked, and it was probably a one-way sort of thing.
“Also, King, I wanted to ask if you know about a god called Zahramiik?” I asked hesitantly.
“Schooling, huh? Well, that is easy enough, and I would gladly provide it to you, and anything else you need in return for your service. Hmmm… Zahramiik… Can’t say I have ever heard of god by that name. Pray tell, what this god’s specialty is?” Kel’thul answered easily.

“Hmmm… supposedly he or she is a god of sacrifice…” I mulled over telling him about Zahramiik’s threat to swamp me with clichés, but decided against it. It is dangerous being targeted by a god after all.
“Sacrifice… can’t say there has ever been a god with such a strange specialty… So there is a god of sacrifice, huh? What is his view towards you that you would bring him up?” Kel’thul put the dots together and asked the question I was trying to avoid.
“Well, err…. I guess I slighted the god somehow, and now they have threatened to throw any and every cliché situation at me…”
“That… seems pretty tame for a god, much less one of sacrifice… You are certain they were a god? Or perhaps it is a god of mischief? Very odd…”Kel’thul continued to mull it over for a moment before he continued, “Regardless, I will set up schooling for you in Pandemonium city, a V.I.P. dorm room for you to stay in, an assistant to guide and help you with anything you don’t understand in this world, and a stipend of funds. Are these terms acceptable, in return for your service?”
“You have my full cooperation, MY liege.” I bow my head to him, and he immediately motions to a nearby steward, who vanishes behind a pillar of the throne room, and returns with a scroll on what appears to be a writing board, complete with fanciful quill and ink jar.
Whilst busy writing, Kel’thul called out, “Hahnu!” what followed was the appearance of a petite cat woman, for lack of a better term. Her skin was a shining ebony in concert with short black hair, long black tail and ears on top of her head resembling that of a panther. She had the eyes as well, cat-like and fiery yellow.

“Yes, my liege, nya?” she exclaimed, revealing pointed fangs. Did she just add ‘nya’ to the end of her sentence…?
“You are to guide Veloth…” Kel’thul gestures toward me, “… To the academy, Schola, and you are to assist him in any way. Understood?”
“Yes, nya!” Hahnu replied energetically.
“Good, then take this to the headmaster of the academy. You may leave at once.” Kel’thul said as he sealed the scroll with a ribbon and wax, pressing his signet ring into the seal. Hahnu swiftly and gracefully moved to receive the scroll from Kel’thul.
“At once, my liege, nya.” Hahnu then turns to me, and flashes a beaming smile.
“I-I’ll be in your care.” I said to her as I bowed my head, a little off guard from that radiant smile.
“Let’s get moving then, shall we, master Veloth nya?” Hahnu lead the way out of the throne room. I enchanted, followed. She may be petite, but she had copious curves… No, wait, don’t stare, you will get caught… but the swaying of that tail… Oh, that gives me an idea. I should disguise myself. It would be troublesome to remain in beast form and use telekinesis all the time, and human form was a no-go, so a subtle change should do the trick. All I really need to do is add my beast tails and ears to my human form, while removing the human ears.
“Hahnu, was it?”
“Nya?” she expressed questioningly.
“I want to shapeshift, but I will need some clothing. Can we obtain some here before we leave?”
“No problem, nya, I will take you to Zavus’ wardrobe, he has the best selection, nya, and if he complains, the king will set him straight, nya.” Although the solution seemed perfect, I’m worried Zavus’ selection may be too gaudy to choose from…
My fears were assuaged as we perused Zavus’ wardrobe. While there were many gaudy outfits, there were also some more plain ones made of high quality materials such as silk. In the end, I picked out a black silk outfit that resembled a tuxedo, minus the bow or tie.
I attempted the shapeshift once I had picked out the outfit, eager to try the subtle differences to my human form. Though the changes seemed small, it was difficult to finalize properly. No matter how hard I tried, I could not form just one tail, instead, both tails remained. The other part that wouldn’t go right was my hair and fur color. Though I went for my normal blond color, no matter what it remained my beast form’s white, almost silver, really.
After finally finalizing my form, I notice Hahnu staring at me intently. I forgot she was still around, and went ahead with the shapeshift. She had a slight blush and a grin, and her eyes were wandering my body like a ravenous beast. I quickly put on my new attire to hide my shame and embarrassment. For some reason I did not care about being nude while in beast form, but once humanoid, embarrassment hit me like a wave. Human memories affecting me I guess.
“L-let’s be off then.” I try to take Hahnu’s mind off my previous state.

A/N: Thank you for being patient with me! As you can see, things will be moving towards a harem + school arc. Don't worry though, the re-summon arc may come next, the vote was so close after all! Hope everyone enjoys! Leave comments and let me know if you did or did not! Tell me what you think, I need that feedback!
