《This Kitty has guns》Chapter 10: The bigger they are, the harder they fall

After some time, over twenty goblins rushed to the entrance.
"There there, the scary cat. Wants to kill many goblins." shouted one of the goblins. He was one of the goblins I let to escape.
"Kill the scary Cat !" shouted others.
"let Ol pass." I then heard the voice of one goblin.
When goblins parted, an old goblin with a staff entered my vision. He was slouching and had a gray beard. Unlike others, he had some clothes instead of only a loincloth, well rags would be more precise.
I already predicted that he was some sort of mage and was ready to dodge, in worse case I could also use my phantom claws as a shield. I was very curious how the spells work in general. If it's instantly, like Reveon does with his Space-Time Magic, then in the future I should be careful when facing mages. But as goblins are known as the weakest it was a perfect chance to test everything in practice without that much of a risk.
"Master! Let me test that mage a bit." I shouted so Reveon doesn't kill him before I even got the chance to see him in action.
He couldn't reach most of them from his side, as cave covered most of them, but at least five with the mage goblin included were already within his sight.
The goblin mage stretched out his hand and magical circles started forming under his feet. After nearly three seconds the circles were complete and the mage shouted.
"Fireball!"
His voice was distorted and sounded as if spoken through a metal pipe. Following the end of incantation, a fireball flew in my direction. It was slow, well, maybe a bit faster than a rock tossed by an athlete but the fireball was slower than an arrow and I dodged it easily just with a lean of the body. When it passed twenty meters or so behind me, an explosion followed after its contact with the ground.
Amateur!
With this kind of spell should have aimed at the ground under my feet. Only with a jump, I would be able to dodge it... that or I would have been forced to test how phantom claws fare when used as a barrier. Still, from what I could see, mages don't need a long incantation of some gibberish like what I have seen in the movies... but I think that those magic circles that form under their feet, makes them unable to move during the cast.
"Stay still annoying cat!" shouted mage angrily when saw that his fireball missed.
He then stretched out his arm again and vanishing magic circle started forming once more, but this time it was ready just in a few seconds.
"Fire..." *argh*
As he tried to cast fireball once more, was interrupted when a pebble entered his mouth. It was me, of course, who sent it with the tail. The forming fireball dissipated almost immediately and the mage started to gasp for air, soon even magic circles under his feet dissipated as well.
Not bad. Seems that interrupting spell this way is a valid tactic... in case there are none around should get a pouch though. Well enough with playing around, it's killing time!
"I am done playing, thank you for waiting," I shouted and then charged into the group.

"No problem Kitty. Have fun," answered Reveon.
Before I even reached my first victim, one of the goblins fell to the ground with an arrow in his chest. With one swing of phantom claws, I killed three goblins at once. Then after dodging their futile attempts to hit me, decapitated another. The claws went trough his wooden spear like it was nothing.
At first, I evaded many of their attacks, but then I realized just how handy those phantom claws are in battle. Every part of them could be used to parry swords, spears, and arrows. I expected that from the sharp parts of the claws, as they were meant to attack... but even the parts that I suspected will just let things get past, as one would expect from their transparent look, actually had a solid surface.
Many goblins started dying from friendly fire when archers got scared and started to shoot at random in their panic. When Reveon ran out of reachable targets he shifted his position and continued with the rain of arrows. Surprisingly his kill count was just a bit lower than mine. That rapid-fire and almost still standing targets made it hard for me to compete... especially when it was only me that had to deal with the incoming attacks.
"Strong, too strong. Scary!" screamed one of the goblins before I sliced him into four with one swing of my claws.
"Scary cat. Wants to kill all goblins." started to panic the others as well.
"I don't want to die. Yuzog help me!" one ran deep into the cavern.
"That's right, Yuzog is strong, Yuzog will save us. Need to call Yuzog." tried to follow another, but I caught him with claws and crushed.
In the end, all goblins save for one that escaped deeper into the cave died. Mage died from suffocating by the way. During the fight, I kept my eye on him in case he recovers, but he wasn't so lucky and in the end, my plan to kill with a pebble was a complete success.

"Nice, I am so close to level ten now," Reveon smiled, "Soon will be able to pick new magic."
As we are sharing the experience he probably received a similar message.
Hmm, why I haven't got any message when killed those three goblins in the cave? Because they still planned to attack me with help? But why I got it now then, hasn't one still escaped to call for some named Yuzog? Uhh, to little information, larger distance maybe?
"Reveon, there are three more goblins approaching from the South, probably scouts or hunting party that is returning," I said after looking to the side.
They were quite close by now. Should have detected them sooner but the wind was in their favor.
"Err .. Master ?" I then quickly added.
"Mmm? What is it Kitty ?" he asked while looking into the direction where the party of goblin I mentioned was supposed to be.
"Those Hobgoblins you mentioned... are they giants?" I asked while looking deep into the cave.
"No, they are usually of the same height as us," he answered.
Seems he didn't notice our predicament yet.
"Then I think smell I didn't recognize earlier wasn't of a Hobgoblin," I replied.

There was no need to explain anything further, he was an elf and was in possession of enhanced hearing just like me, well, it was a bit weaker than mine, but it wasn't a problem to hear what I was talking about. Soon rhythmic tremors could be felt even with our feet.
After waiting for a few minutes, we could see the cause of those tremors. It was a cyclop. With his large belly, he reminded me of a sumo wrestler from Japan. If we ignore almost five meters height and only one eye. His 'skin' was rough and I am sure for most weapons it would be hard to pierce it. In one hand he was dragging a giant club that was actually part of a broken tree.
"Scary cat killed many many goblins. Not enough goblins to bring you tasty food." goblin that escaped earlier started talking by his side.
The cyclop looked at the dead goblins, then picked one and tossed into his mouth.
"How dare you kill goblins of Yuzog!" he roared while spitting some parts of eaten goblin in the process.
"Fuck! That's level 21 cyclop!" Reveon cursed after checking him with his analyze tool.
"Who will now bring tasty food for Yuzog ?!" after picking and eating another corpse of a goblin the cyclop roared again.
The goblin that led him there was now shivering in fear from the sight. Now I understood why they didn't bring this cyclop from the start.
"We should run Kitty!" Master shouted to me.
In the distance, I now also spotted three goblins I mentioned earlier.
"You come, kill my goblins, and then want to run?! Not gonna happen! You will become my food to atone for your *argh*... *cough, cough*" the cyclop was interrupted by a large rock that entered his mouth I sent with a kick.
But it wasn't enough this time.
*UAHHH* the cyclop roared after he recovered.
Well, it was worth a shot.
"Master, you take care of the remaining goblins," I shouted and charged at the cyclop. "I will deal with this oversized pig!"
I easily dodged his swing with 'club' and started to run on his arm on all four using dragon claws with arms and legs. He tried to shake me off, but it was futile and I sliced trough his throat with phantom claws and jumped to the ground.
Easy.
Blood sprayed like a fountain... though only for a second. I slowly turned my head over the shoulder.
Regeneration? High-level regeneration. Hmm, this will be a bit troublesome I thought as I looked at now nonexistent wound on his neck. Cyclop looked at me with a surprise on the face... and a bit of fear.
I charged at him again. Fast regeneration might look scary on the paper, but it has a weakness. Can regenerate cuts, burns or other wounds as many times as needed. But this isn't a movie... it's impossible to create things out of nothing. For example, If this limb will go missing... he will need a lot of nutrients to regrow it.
At first, I tried to cut off his arms or legs, but I quickly found that with the size and toughness of the meat, it was not an easy task... the wounds regenerated much faster than I could harm. I started to run over his body again, and started to slash his arteries within my reach. Wounds might close fast, but arteries spray a lot of blood even in those short moments. And to replace that blood he will have to use nutrients from his own body... not just everything can be used to create blood.
But when I looked at his fat body I couldn't help but frown. This will take a while. I looked at Reveon and saw that only two goblins remained. Both were from the scouting party as for the one that brought the cyclop here, he was already dead. With a few more shots, one more goblin died but the last one was almost upon the Master.
When I was about to disengage the cyclop to help him, he stopped me with a gesture of his hand.
He stretched his hand and when short sword reached his skin, the sword simply vanished. The goblin looked at his empty hand with wide eyes, trying to comprehend what just happened. Reveon, in the meantime, raised his hand even further and a massive rock, at the size of a car, suddenly appeared above the goblin.
*SPLASH*
That... was beautiful. And he said he doesn't have attack magic. Space-Time Magic is definitely a cheat.
"Ha ha ha ha." I started to laugh.
My Master is Incredible. I can't believe I underestimated him. And just how much stuff he has in that pocket dimension.
The cyclop I was fighting also noticed Reveon and grabbed a large rock nearby. I quickly started to slash at him when realized that his aim was now my Master, but the cyclop completely ignored me, the wounds I have caused were taken care of by his regeneration anyway.
"Master dodge!" I shouted the warning.
*BONG* resounded a loud echo.
In the place where my Master was once, stood a giant, three-meter tall bell. The bell was still making vibrating sound from the earlier collision. After a bit, the bell has vanished and I could see Reveon holding his ears, swaying back and forth like a drunk.
"WHY... ARE YOU... NOT USING MANA DEVOUR!?!" he then shouted.
Probably because he was still a bit deaf from the sound of the bell, he shouted very loudly. What's the point of... ohhh.
I started to devour mana of the giant immediately.
The cyclop tried to stop me, but I just moved over his body out of his reach and continued with devour. After I took it all, he fell to the ground unconscious.
Devour Mana - Absorb mana from your opponent. During the process of consuming mana, the opponent can't use any mana based skills or spells. If all mana is consumed, the opponent loses consciousness. It's so obvious now that I think about it...
Reveon came closer to the lying cyclop, then held his hand up and a giant stone, this time of at least twenty tonnes, crushed the head of the cyclop.
You have gained 2465 experience points for overcoming your adversary.

The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
