《The Greatest Hero》Chapter 20A - Finding Phoenix

"What the hell just happened?" Camilla shouted.
“Some kind of explosion, Jam shut off my connection to his implants.”
“I didn’t know he could do that.”
“Yeah, apparently he can.”
People were running from the nightclub and Camilla was crouched behind the bar. The DJ had already fled but the music still pulsed.
“Are there any cameras on me?”
“No, the explosion destroyed the wiring.”
"Do you have my suit?"
"I can't get there. My orb can't cross the distance."
Damn
Camilla pressed a button on her watch and fired a small camera near the ceiling. She pulled up the feed on her phone in time to see henchmen with guns coming from the back room where Jam had went.
"Just keeps getting worse. Alright, game face. Really wish I didn't wear a dress."
"There's a lost and found box to your right." Audrey declared.
"Ooh, smart."
Camilla rifled through the box but was only able to find a few usable items, a belt, a pair of glasses, a bandana?
"I think it's an ascot" Audrey interjected.
"I thought an ascot looked more like an untied bow tie."
"Good point, maybe it is a bandana. There's a bottle opener over there too and a box cutter. Those could be useful. I wouldn't be surprised if you found an ice pick somewhere around here too."
"Alright, calm it down Punisher. We don't want to horribly maim anyone just yet, we don't even know what side these guys are on."
"Valid point."
"I hear someone behind the bar." A deep voice shouted.
"Uh oh."
"Whoever is back there, stand up," another voice sounded.
When Camilla slowly stood with her hands reaching for the sky she was wearing the now lenseless glasses, and had the bandana tying her long hair up. She tried to make herself appear as meak as possible.

"Please, I don't want any trouble. I heard an explosion and everyone started running, I hid so I wouldn't get trampled. Please don't hurt me." she cried with trembling voice.
"What do you want to do with her?"
"Boss said to just take whoever was in the back. Didn't say anything about witnesses. Let her go I guess, unless you want her."
"The back room, where Jam went?" Audrey asked.
"I don't know she is kinda cute." The man dropped his sights to take a better look at Camilla.
As the rest of the group relaxed their stances to get back to whatever work they were doing, Camilla knew it was her time to move. She began to whisper under her breath.
"Inti. Bright and radiant. Warm and loving. Hear my cries and shed your light."
"Oy, what's she saying," A third man asked.
"Lightburst," she chanted and twin beams of light came out of her raised hands and encompassed the room.
Camilla quickly grabbed two alcohol bottles and tossed them shooting each one with an energy bolt creating a quick flash fire. The fire sprinklers quickly came on drownng the room with water. Camilla rolled over the bar and wrapped the belt around the arms of the first henchmen kicking the gun from his hands. She fell back pulling the man down with her as the others barely regaining their sight fired in their direction. Camilla used her feet to push the man flying off of her into the others.
Camilla spun on her back and kicked off of a stationary barstool, sliding across the floor as one of the gunmen on the floor fired just barely missing her.
"Get off of me you idiots," the head henchman ordered pushing the others off of him.

He was met with a bottle to the face that crushed his nose. She hopped over a table and flipped over the floored henchmen running to the back. She herself was floored, figuratively, when she found a wall in the back room had been blown to hell.
"Holy hell, what happened here?" Audrey asked.
"They took him," Camilla answered.
Camilla nearly flew back into the main room. her hands glowing a faint blue light. She grabbed the third henchmen who had decided to stay on the ground after seeing his leader's nose caved in with a bottle.
"Where did they take the person in the back?" Camilla interrogated, her hand up and brimming with energy.
"To the castle," the man's voice waivered. "They took them to the castle, the boss wanted them alive."
"Who is your boss? Where's the castle?"
The henchmen unzipped his black vest and underneath was a shirt with a quarter moon on it .
Shit. The Lunar King, of course.
"You're going to take me to the castle, now!" she ordered.
"I can't," the man cried.
"Why not?" Camilla held the man up by his shirt.
"No one who isn't there knows where it is. It moves. I don't know where it is I just get a place to get picked up and when I open my eyes again I'm there. That's all I know."
Camilla grunted in annoyance before tossing the man into his still tied up companion. She pressed the button on her phone to recall her mini camera and signaled her Skycycle, the heavily remodelled Mightcycle, to her.
"What are we going to do now?" Audrey asked. "I can't track him."
"I'm working on it, just give me a second to think." Camilla snapped as she left out of a side door.
When she stepped outside the Skycycle pulled itself into the alley. The cool air outside helped clear her head some of the adrenaline that was pumping through her.
Track him?
[ Active Trackers: 2 ]
[ Trackers:
1. Cassandra { }
2. Jam {X} ]
Camilla grabbed her spare suit out of her saddlebag and dressed as quickly as she could, keeping a look out at the holographic map she projected of where Jam's tracker was moving. Skyfire then hopped onto the Skycycle and rode while Audrey projected the directions into her mask lenses. The Skycycle effortless weaved through traffic traveling at unbelievable speed.
"Maybe you should slow down a bit. I know you have peak human condition but soon even your reaction time won't be able to handle the speed."
"I'm fine," Skyfire answered curtly before revving the engine and going faster.
No matter how fast she seemed to go though, she couldn't seem to close the distance between her and the blip on her map.
What the hell are they riding in, a jet?
She pulled onto the overpass and continued her chase but to no avail. Soon, the blip disappeared altogether. Skyfire pulled to the side of the road as disappointment washed over her.
"Damn it!" she shouted as she beat the handle bars of her Skycycle.
"It's ok Camilla, we'll find him."
"Call Juniper, tell her to call an emergency meeting. I want everyone there by the time i pull in."
"Alright."
