Within a week, a new weed had proudly sprouted from the new ground in the fertile valley of the rock's bad dental plan. It did not take long for the roots to reach an impasse and without enough room to expand, it tried to force things. With a resounding crack, the rock's whole body became two halves. With all the throwing and tossing done to the rock, it was surprising it managed to remain intact up until this point. Or rather, it had already been broken down multiple times in the past.

The question was which half was the true rock? After all there could be only one. It would be a fight to the death or rather which one the narrator would follow and pretend is alive with the other half as some sort of backup. In the end, it was decided that the side with more red in the center would be the true half, the better side.

As for the plant that caused this separation, it was not unspared by the rock's revenge. The soil in inbetween the rock collapsed to the ground, revealing its roots as it fell on its side on the ground. Without its roots in the soil and with the sun setting, it would lack the energy to ground itself and die from starvation. A fitting end for such a plant.

Both the new rocks were about the same size and were longer horizontally with a half oval shape. They sat just a few inches from each other, and the jagged shapes where they split could fit back together like a jigsaw minus the piece missing from the original crack. If only the rock had some adhesive and the means to apply it.
