《Queen of Devouring》Volume 4: Magical Plane: Chapter 40.3 - The Shadow World

While Skeiron showed me around the mansion, we also visited the conference room where laid a large table with a map of Ketarn on it.
(AN:\https://i.imgur.com/ZLyLDpO.png full-size picture. I’m sorry in advance for all those who threw up after seeing this terrible ‘art’, (don’t die because I called this art, nooo!). Anyway, I know it’s a crappy map, but it gets the point across, I believe. You may want to save it or memorise it since I won’t keep posting it every time they go to a place, but I’ll describe the path if that helps.)
Spoiler: Map

When we left behind Dink and Dunk, we also looted that third planet, Sealu. There were quite a lot of good things in there, but most of them are in Master’s hands since it’s the safest there. Not that I cared about wealth. As long as I had enough for a living, I was very content with it.
We teleported through space for a whole day when we reached the northern part of this land. This was a very strange plane since it wasn’t a planet. It was just a huge piece of land floating in the middle of space with a barrier all around it. Although looking at this map people would think that this land wasn’t that big, each white dot around the land meant a star. Just travelling through this land alone would take us weeks or even months, even if we teleported hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
Seeing the map, I realised that we came to this land through the Wasteland and flew over that huge mountain range which spanned hundreds of kilometers. There were many great rivers and lakes filled with beasts even stronger than us, but we came here nonetheless.
Considering the direction we took and that Master mentioned that she could sense the presence of an Abyss Gate, we must be in the capital city of Trigon Kingdom. Hmm, so it’s westwards from my current location. We should be able to make some allies in the Demon Burrows and the Skeleton Hill. I’ve mostly seen beastmen, ogres, and humans in the capital city, so I guess why ‘Tri’ isn’t there for a show in the name of the Kingdom.
Do they have three kings or something of the sort? I wonder. Well, I’ll have to investigate this later. Maybe this brat knows the basics. Let’s see, there are elves here as well and they seem to have a large territory and then there are the nagas, a Bear God? So there is another legendary creature. Let’s see, what else. That Dragon Lake is suspicious as well, but we’re in the same universe. There shouldn’t be any more Dragon Gods. It’s probably a strong divine beast.
Oh, and dwarves. They’re proud craftsman based on hearsays, but we haven’t met any. Master should judge them later. Master will be happy when she sees this!
But I’m a bit concerned about this huge land. The Abyss Gate is close to the center of the land and the edges were continuously falling apart at the Wasteland. But even this map shows that the broken parts are much deeper in the land and there wasn’t much mana in the area either. This map is great, I’ve got a lot of information out of it! I should copy it with my soul force and send it to Master.
Although I observed the map thoroughly, to the kid, it was but a moment in time before I passed it and kept walking next to him. After reaching the six hundredth level, I’ve learned to use my soul to do a few extra things and my mind has also become much quicker than before. A second was enough for me to read an entire book with thousands of pages if the words were on the same page, though that would be unnecessary since I had devour and my soul force as well. My perception wasn’t something the old me could have understood. The me who was just a kid on the streets.

Hail Master!
“Girl, I come back to hear this. Is my timing bad or what?” Master’s voice and presence returned. I felt as if I was a kid who saw a rainbow after the rain. I was truly obsessed with Master, I couldn’t deny my love for her, but so were the others!
“This map you sent is amazing! And you already went ahead and analyzed it, less work for me to do. But I’ll fill you in on something. The Abyss Gate is basically a gigantic mass of mana and spatial energy which connects the worlds, the universes to the Anchor, or its other name, the Abyss. Creating a huge land like this isn’t a hard thing to do for someone at or above the eight hundredth level, but maintaining it and keeping it in one piece in this shape would take more effort than worth.”
“They’d rather create a huge planet instead and it’d keep itself together. This Ketarn is probably using the power of the Abyss Gate to somehow keep this land together. This means that there must be a huge formation around it which keeps the land together and creates the barrier and atmosphere around it. The kings of these kingdoms are definitely above the eight hundredth or even nine hundredth level! We’re still far from that sort of power, so we better be cautious. If I get caught and killed, you’ll all go down as well and that’s not something I wish to see. I’ll watch over you until you make this kid a pawn, just in case.”
Hearing my Master’s caring voice, I felt like tearing up, but I couldn’t start crying in front of a kid out of nowhere. And there was that shitty guard as well.
Master, I’ll definitely do my best. Once I return, I’ll have a request!
“What could it be? I’ll help you if I can get it for you.”
It’s not a material. I want your hug!
“Eh? I’ll hug you anytime, though. Come back safe today~” she replied in a playful mood. Hearing that she’d grant my wish, I felt extremely motivated!
Hahaha! Just how jealous my brothers will be! And the other girls, I can’t wait!
“I can hear you…”
I know!
“By the way, these things are just blown out of proportion… That Dragon Lake is called a lake yet it’s bigger than the entirety of Dink! Its area is bigger than that of a planet, how is that still a lake?”
Master, I don’t think you should question the common sense of people who grew up here.
“You’re right. Sorry for interrupting you. Focus on the kid and the guard.”
Yes!
Skeiron showed me around and I’ve got to know every corner of the mansion. While standing in the kitchen, I poured two bottles of strawberry juice to us and since the guard was behind me in the corner and Skeiron was waiting as well, I cut my finger and poured my blood into both glasses. I used water magic to heal that shallow wound and turned around holding both glasses.
“Shall we go back to your room to drink this?” I asked.
“Yes, sis! Let’s go!”
Maybe he looked innocent and simple right now, but if he got his education from his pig father, he’d definitely become trash we would have to kill. He should be happy that he could receive Master’s blood and become one of us, even if he’d be nothing but a pawn. Some of them are truly worthy of my respect.
As we reached the kid’s room, I sat down on the side of the bed and gave one bottle to the boy. “Let’s down it! The slower is the loser!” I said with enthusiasm. Being an energetic kid, he naturally took the challenge and downed it all at the same time I did. I took the glass from him and put it on the top of his drawer while the boy raised his hand to his mouth and yawned.

“Why am I so sleepy all of a sudden?”
“Are you? Did all that walking tire you out?” I tilted my head to the side.
“Yes, it seems. Liz, I’ll take a nap,” he laid down on the bed. “But this sleepiness feels so vile,” he muttered.
Leaning closer to him, I put my forehead on his and gazed into his eyes. I subtly used some of my soul force to make his mind go hazy as I whispered, “Don’t worry about a thing. Big sis will make you see the world differently, you’re going to love it. Accept everything that this dream brings with it and you shall see the world the way I do, my Master does, and my friends and comrades do. You’ll see it all.”
“O--kay,” his voice slowly faded as he fell asleep.
“What were you whispering to him?” this time the man came out from the shadow. He had four feathers on his shoulders and was half-naked.
“I just told him a quick tale and wished him good night!” I raised my hands and waved my arms. The guard walked closer, grabbed my arm and pushed me to the side. He put his finger on the kid’s forehead and after a few seconds of silence, he nodded his head.
“He’s really just sleeping. Good. Remember the Lord’s words, there are things much worse than death! Even if you’re a slut who loves sex, we could still torture you, kill your loved ones, and many other things. Show him the beauty of a woman’s body,” he said as he grabbed my chin and stopped his ugly face only a few centimeters away.
“Don’t you want to warm up while the kid is still sleeping?”
“Fufu~ am I that attractive to you?” I whispered into his ear.
“Round tits, a fine ass and a beautiful face! What else could I ask for? You’re a fine woman indeed!”
I blew air in his ear while I slowly coiled my arm around his waist, “I find this mister very attractive as well.”
“Hehe, you’re a slut as I thought, but keep your voice down or the young master will notice.”
“As you wish, I’ll keep your voice down,” I gazed into his eyes as I put my left hand over his mouth and I thrust my right hand through his back, into his heart. I used inner-devour on my hand and with nothing to protect him from the insides, the man turned into a rotten corpse in the blink of an eye. After devouring the last bits of his body, not even a trace of his existence was left.
“You felt good,” I moaned as I turned around and walked up to the brat’s bed. A few black stripes appeared on his navel and his body grew older by a year, though he was still just a brat.
“Good, great job. I can feel the connection being established. With this, we have the heir of a noble under our control without anyone knowing. A few of the dark scars also had the luck to meet young masters, but they aren’t at a phase where they could do something like this. It’ll take more time for them, so your success will come in handy. Your brother will be surely happy for you when he hears of this.”
Ah! No way! He’ll be super jealous when he sees you hug me. Please, Master, this is the only reward I need. Please, hug me in front of the others! I want to see their faces.
“You’re an evil brat, aren’t you?” Master laughed in my mind. “But okay.”
Thank you!
Since the kid had good potential anyway and he received only a tiny bit of Master’s blood, he didn’t go through a big evolution and woke up. “Uh, all this knowledge. But what about the guard? Did you kill him?” he sat up and looked around.
“I’ve got an idea already, don’t worry about that. Master Elena is present as well,” I remarked.
Skeiron’s ears twitched before he jumped up and knelt on the ground, “This servant greets the goddess!”
Good boy, I thought while Master took control of my body and pulled the boy to his feet.
“There is no need for that. From now on, you shall continue to stay here as the son of Jareg Greywing, a noble of Trigon. Make sure to use your authority if Liz gets in trouble and don’t let your father touch her. He wanted you to be a strong-willed and self-confident person, so behave accordingly. Liz is going to be your boss from now on since you’re her blood servant. Make sure to obey her commands,” Master said.
“That’s only natural,” Skeiron nodded his head.
After Master gave back the control of my body, I told my plans to Skeiron. I changed my long dress into a short skirt and a top and pulled off the left shoulder straps and then laid down on the bed with Skeiron kneeling next to me.
“Go on,” I said.
“FATHER! HELP ME!” Skeiron shouted at the top of his lungs while I used wind magic to break in the window and make a cut in the wall.
The fat pig appeared in the room and glared at me. “What have you done, bitch?!”
“No, Father! It’s not her! It was that guard!”
“What?!” he looked around and realised that the guard was nowhere to be seen and noticed the marks of a short ‘battle’ as well.
“What happened, my son? Are you alright?!” he shouted as he ran up to the bed.
“Yes, I’m alright thanks to Liz! We’ve just finished-” his face turned a little red as he stopped midway. “A-Anyway, that bastard guard wanted to take my woman!”
The man clenched his fists and I felt a huge wave of soul force sweep through the city, but of course, he couldn’t find the guard. “Lord, he teleported away. I’m afraid he’s going to flee to another planet or another place. The chances of catching him should be slim,” I fixed my attire and said while slightly bowing.
“Curse that bastard! You come with me and tell me about the details!” he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the bed.
“Father, don’t hurt my woman!” Skeiron was about to stop him when I used the Shadow World to tell him to stop.
“It should be fine for now. Master will contact you in case I need help.”
“I understand.”
The pig raised his brows and looked at me with interest. He let go of my hand and told me to follow him. As we left the room and I closed the door behind me, he turned towards me and said, “My son already calls you his. How did you achieve that? You work fast,” he patted my shoulder. Ah, I’ll have to take a long bath once I return to Master’s side, I can’t take this plague with me.
“I don’t think he’s a plague,” Master laughed in my mind.
“Thank you for your kind words, Lord Jareg. You wished to hear the details, right? After Skeiron turned into an adult, he wished to take a break and I just barely took up my top and my skirt when that guard jumped out of the corner and used his soul force, trying to put Skeiron to sleep. I know a little bit about the usage of soul force, so I managed to fend off that powerful attack and also used a wind blade to retaliate while the young master shouted. That’s all in short and of course, hearing the young master’s shout, the guard teleported away instantly.”
“Hmm- thank you for your services in that case. Do you have a family? I’ll send them some reward or you can request something from me as well!” he said with a smile.
“My family died long ago, unfortunately,” I hung my head.
“Ah, that’s sad,” he said without a shred of emotion. A pig would stay a pig, indeed. “Do you have any requests?”
“Well, I could use a helping hand in something” - I paused for a moment - “simple.”
“I’m all ears.”
