*Boom!*

Elsewhere Sora was clashing intensely against General Barkley.

He held his spear and the twirled it before thrusting it forward.

*Boom!*

A blast of sound rushed towards Barkley.

Barkley sword shone brightly, and he swung it down. An arc of light rushed towards the sound waves.

*Boom!*

The clash of sound and light caused a massive explosion that devoured several buildings and reduce them to dust.

The nearby soldiers and citizens were either blew to pieces or had their organs reduced to mush.

Sora rushed forward again and covered his body with sound waves.

Barkley covered himself in light and rushed to meet him head on.

*Boom!*

Their collision immediately created a 50m crater under them.

Sora slashed his spear to left.

Barkley ducked under it and stabbed at his chest.

*Boom!*

His sword was stopped by a sound barrier.

Sora took that opening to kick at him.

“[Resound]!”

*Boom!*

A blast of sound made Barkley fly back a little.

Sora immediately chased after him with his spear.

*Boom!*

The spear thrust through Barkley’s body.

“?!”

However, Sora didn't feel the resistance he should feel from stabbing flesh.

*Boom!*

He was suddenly hit from behind with a beam.

“Ugh?!”

He quickly swung the spear around, but it only hit air.

Barkley was nowhere to be seen.

“?!”

Sora twisted his body and dodged a stab from Barkley’s sword.

He then saw a hand reach out for his face.

“[5th Tempo]!”

Sora suddenly disappeared out of Barkley's reach.

He reappeared 50m away.

“Not bad, kid.”

Barkley said, as he brought his arm to his side and looked at Sora.

“To think that there was such a talented person outside of the Triad.”

His body started glowing again. His sword turned into glaive.

“Too bad you chose the wrong master!”

He disappeared and reappeared in front of Sora, already swinging his weapon.

Sora quickly held the spear staff in front of him.

*Boom!*

Light spread out when the weapons clashed.

Barkley disappeared again.

Sora quickly jumped forward, twisted around and swung his spear behind him.

*Boom!*

His weapon clashed with Barkley's again.

“Heh.”

Barkley disappeared, and this time appeared above Sora.

He swung down the glaive that had light gathering around the blade.

*Boom!*

“Guh?!”

Sora was forced into the ground by the light that was as heavy as it was bright.

Barkley jumped back, flicked his wrist and swords of light appeared and stabbed into Sora's body.

“Haaaah?!”

He screamed out in agony as the light started to burn his insides.

“[White Noise]!”

A shriek came from his mouth, which made Barkley feel like his consciousness faded for a minute.

He then found himself unable to move his body.

“What the?!”

He then saw Sora sprung to his feet.

He disappeared and reappeared in front of Barkley and thrust his spear.

“[Sonic Spear]!”

*Boom!*

The spear stabbed into his body and a burst of sound immediately followed.

“Guah?!”

Barkley flew backwards with blood spraying from his wound and mouth like a hose.

*Boom!*

He bounced off the ground a couple times before laying down on the ground.

“Cough?! Cough?!”

He started to choke on his own blood.

The blast of sound earlier almost destroyed all of his organs.

Even so, Sora couldn't chase after him.

He used the spear to hold himself up.

The swords of light that stabbed into his body had fired his insides.

He wiped the blood leaking from his mouth and looked at Barkley.

Barkley started to crawl away and while trying to get to his feet every now and again.

Sora's eyes had a killer light when he saw that.

He forced himself to stand firm and lifted up his spear beside his head.

He locked his eyes on Barkley's body, he then threw his spear with all of his strength.

*Boom!*

The spear stabbed into Barkley’s body.

“Tch!”

However, Barkley's body turned into light and disappeared.

“He ran.”

Sora almost stumbled over, but used his will to keep standing.

“Well its beneficial for me as well. At least I get to heal my wounds.”

After he said that, he placed his hand on his stomach and activated his Qi.

His Heavenly Qi had highest healing abilities outside of Ruler’s Qi. So Sora was able to regenerate his wounds at least three times faster than before.

It took him 10 minutes to heal to the point he could wield his spear again. However, he was nowhere near a full recovery.

“That bastard was probably able to heal up somewhat as well. We're practically back to where we started.”

Sora had to admit that Barkley's abilities were perfect for escaping death. He was even faster than him.

“It will probably be hard to kill someone like that. I really have to go all out the next time we meet, and not pull any of my punches.”

Saying so, Sora disappeared from where he was and started moving at an incredible speed.

*Boom!*

He came to a stop when he felt a surge of terrifying power come from his north.

“….Hina?”

He recognized it as Hina's magic power.

However, it was a bit different.

“….This feels like she's drowning in sorrow.”

He started to think of all the possible things that could cause Hina so much grief during this battle.

After a while, he couldn't think of anything other than a death on their side.

This made Sora anxious.

“Guess I should go check it out.”

As he was about to run off-

*Boom!*

A beam of light exploded in front of him.

Sora immediately jumped back.

“[Black Light Cutter]!”

*Boom!*

He was attack from behind by an arc of black light.

“Argh!”

His back was slashed and fresh blood sprayed from it.

He quickly turn and swung his hand.

“[Ultrasonic Blade]!”

Sound surrounded his hand and turned into a blade.

He swung that blade and cut through the black light and slashed Barkley across the chest.

“Ugh?!”

Barkley groaned and leaped back.

If Sora was a bit closer, his sound blade would've cut him in two.

He saw that Barkley appearance changed.

He was still glowing but it was a dark glow. He had a more sinister feeling to him.

But Sora didn't care about that.

“You know I was going to spare you for the time being, but you really wanna die don't you?!”

Sora was visibly angry.

He could sense that Hina was in need of help, but he wasn't able to reach her thanks to the distraction in front of him.

He also knew that Miko was probably busy and didn't sense anything wrong, otherwise he would've already moved to solve it.

At the moment, Sora didn't feel like entertaining Barkley.

There's not many people who can truly draw out his bloodlust, but Barkley successfully did it with one attack.

“[Requiem De Orpheus]!”

Sora's entire existence dimmed, his skin paled, black tears of blood ran down his cheeks and formed a black puddle under him, and dark gloomy aura surrounded his body.

Barkley was shock when he saw this appearance.

Sora took out back his spear.

It slowly turned black as he held it.

He turned a cold gaze at Barkley and lifted his spear.

“Die!”

He instantly appeared in front of Barkley and thrust his spear at his head.

Barkley turned into a beam and shot up in the air.

“[Grim Medley]!”

A sad tone spread through the area.

The moment Barkley heard it his body became extremely sluggish.

Sora appeared in front of him, and swung down his spear.

“[Sonic Spear]!”

Barkley forced himself to move, but because of the affect of [Grim Medley] his movements were slow.

*Boom!*

The spear grazed his side, but it was enough to blow him away.

*Boom!*

He crashed into the streets and bounced a few times.

Sora didn't chase after him, a black aura swirled around the spear's tip.

“[Mourner’s Song: Spear Edition]!”

A vortex of darkness appeared in front of the spear, while a mournful tone resound through the area.

Shadowy weeping monsters started flying out of the vortex, releasing howls of the dead.

All the monsters rushed towards Barkley.

“[Sinner’s Light]!”

Dozens of beams of black light destroyed the monsters.

He clasp his hands and pulled them open. A strand of black light could be seen connecting the palms.

A sphere started forming in the middle.

Barkley spread his arms wide and the sphere grew several feet in size.

“[Sinner’s Light: Devil’s Judgement]!”

*Boom!*

A gigantic beam shot towards Sora, and instantly devoured the monsters.

Sora quickly moved out of the way. However, the beam bent and followed Sora.

“?!”

This caught Sora off guard and he was unable to protect himself properly. He was only able to create a sound wall.

*Boom!*

Sora was hit directly by the beam.

Everything behind him for several miles were instantly disintegrated into nothing.

“……..”

When the light faded Sora still floated in the air.

However, he was heavily damaged and looked more like a corpse than before.

“Hahahahaha! Who's going to kill who?!”

As Barkley shouted he formed another black sphere.

“Die!”

The sinister gigantic beam rushed towards Sora once again.

“[Death Orchestra]!”

Dozens of gigantic instruments appeared behind him.

“Tuba!”

A black tuba appeared in front of Sora.

*Boom!*

It played by itself and a incredibly loud blast of sound rushed out and blocked the beam.

“Wha?!”

Barkley was shocked silly when he saw the attacks cancel each other out.

Sora suddenly shot down like a meteorite thrusting his spearing down.

*Boom!*

The shockwave caused by when Sora hit the ground, blew Barkley away with broken bones and blood flowing from eyes, mouth, ears, and nose.

Sora chased after him with his spear.

Barkley gritted his teeth and summoned his glaive.

He thrust out his now black glaive while Sora thrust his spear.

The spear and glaive passed each other and stabbed into their targets.

*Boom!*

Sound exploded in Barkley's body, while light scorched Sora's insides.

The two were sent flying backwards like rag dolls and laid on the ground.

The orchestra behind Sora disappeared while Sora bled out.

There wasn't apart of his body that didn't hurt.

He painfully lifted his upper body and sat up.

“?!”

To his surprise Barkley was already standing.

No, he wasn't standing.

He was using the glaive to brace his body up.

“Ugh!”

After finally standing up straight with a groan, he glared at Sora.

His angry glare made Sora extremely angry, but unfortunately he couldn't stand yet.

He had to watch as Barkley slowly walked over to him with him dragging his glaive on the ground.

After a while he finally stood in front of Sora.

He lifted his glaive and pointed it at Sora's neck.

“….Any last words.”

When he heard that Sora smiled deviously.

“Yeah, just two.”

With eyes filled with bloodlust, he shouted.

“[Black Hymn]!”

*Boom!*

A wave of sound suddenly emitted from Sora mouth and hit Barkley like a train.

Barkley was blown away with the sounds of his bones breaking resounding in the air.

Barkley wasn't the only thing that was blown away.

The surrounding buildings cracked and chunks of earth were blown away like leaves in the wind.

This was the power of [Black Hymn]. It wasn't the strongest of Sora's attacks, but it was quick and easy to use, which made it perfect for a surprise attack.

“Cough?! Cough?!”

For the second time today, Barkley was choking on his own blood.

But this time all of his bones were shattered, and a lot of his organs burst.

He was a death's door.

“Normally I'm not one to enjoy killing, but it's been such a long time since I was so pissed off.”

Sora pointed his hand towards Barkley.

“You're going to suffer a horrible death.”

Sora could see the fear in Barkley's eyes. He obviously didn't want to die.

However, Sora wasn't a softhearted person.

Once he decides to kill you, you're dead. And your death won't be clean and pretty.

“[Ballad Of Hades].”

Sora eyes dulled even further, and an inhuman voice came out of his mouth.

He suddenly started sing about demons opening the gates of hell, and escaping to world of the living and devouring all in their sights.

Pitch black monsters with demonic appearances suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

The demons all walked over to Barkley.

Barkley saw that and started to panic.

“Stay! Cough! away!”

He shouted on top of his lungs, as if he wanted to scare of the demons with his voice.

The demons ignored him and continued slowly walking towards him.

There were some that were visibly drool.

Barkley's face ashen as the first demon stood in front of him, and looked at him like a meal.

It smiled and showed it's disgusting rotten teeth.

“N-No!”

The demon jumped down and Barkley and sank its teeth into him.

Barkley screamed out in agony and fear.

The other demons soon jumped down on him as well.

They sank their teeth in his flesh and slowly ripped it off, ignoring his begging and screams.

The demons completely covered Barkley and energetically devoured his flesh. It wasn't long before his agonizing screams couldn't be heard anymore, but the demons still chewed and it sounded like they were chewing on something hard.

After a few minutes, the demons disappeared leaving some half eaten bones in their place.

The audience were horrified when they watched the entire scene. A General was actually eaten alive in front of them. They probably wouldn't forget what they saw for a lifetime.

This all happened with Sora smiling, and sometimes even laughing out loud.
