Miko and Kaido stared each other down with Hana in the middle.

“Hey!”

It was at this time that Ishma and Regis came over.

Ishma stood in front of Miko and glared at Kaido.

“Who the fuck is you?!”

She said with an overly aggressive tone.

“….Kaido.”

Kaido remained emotionless and answered in monotone.

“Stop it, Ishma.”

Miko chopped her on the head.

“Don't randomly start pressuring people without second thought.”

Ishma put on an expression like she was wronged and stepped back.

“Um….”

It was at this moment Hana stepped forward.

“Thank you for saving me earlier.”

She said with a bow.

“Come on, Kaido. You responded late so you should thank them too.”

She put her hand on Kaido’s back and made him bow as well.

“Ah, don't worry about it. I had my own reasons.”

Facing facing Hana’s geninue bow of gratitude, Miko felt a bit awkward.

Hana lifted up her head and smiled at Miko.

Seeing that, he couldn't help but to wave his hand in front of her face.

As expected she didn't respond in anyway.

“…So you are blind.”

“Yes, she is.”

The one who answered was Kaido.

“You're Gamiko Dragna, king of the Dragna Kingdom right?”

He said in monotone.

“That's right.”

Miko didn't hide his identity. The people of this city possessed some of the best technology in the world. It wasn't strange if they could get a photo of him.

“I see.”

Kaido once again bowed like before.

“Even though it was only a few seconds, I was late in responding to Hana’s predicament. I thank you for stepping in when you did.”

He said in monotone and without a change in expression.

However Miko didn't get offend or angered by Kaido's strange behavior. After all, his grandmother stayed emotionless most of the time.

“Like I said, I had my reason.”

After saying that he looked at Hana.

“I was curious as to how you can see me. Even when I'm using a concealment technique.”

“Oh, that.”

Hana pointed to her eyes.

“I'm an Infected. So my eyes are a bit special, even though I'm blind I can sense things like spirit or aura. I can see them as different colors.”

She explained with a bright smile.

“Oh? So that's why you could know that I was there when I extended my Qi.”

She nodded.

‘This could be the reason why she's blind. Her Infected ability came at the cost of her eyesight.’

Miko thought to himself.

He then looked at Kaido and Hana.

“Are you two brother and sister?”

Kaido shook his head.

“We're both orphans. We just live together, that's all.”

He said.

“Don't make it sound so distant and cold.”

Hana cutely pouted.

“We're family.”

“Wasn't that what I said?”

Kaido asked back a bit confused.

“No. The way how you put it makes it sound like we're just strangers staying together for the meantime.”

She pulled on his sleeve.

“Didn't you promise me that you'll be with me forever?”

She then looked heartbroken.

“Was that a lie?”

She looked even more troubled than when she was being harassed by the men earlier.

However, Kaido still remained emotionless in face of this.

“….I see. I might have put it wrong.”

Kaido then faced Miko again.

“I made a mistake. We don't just live together, we're family.”

Hana finally smile again when she heard that.

This was a genuine smile.

She was truly happy that Kaido called her his family.

Her beautiful smile even moved Miko's heart a little bit.

‘What a charming girl.’

He couldn't help but to think so.

“I see. You're family.”

Kaido nodded.

“What about you? Are those your sisters?”

Hana looked towards Regis and Ishma and asked.

“No. They're some kids I picked up on the side of the road.”

“Say what?!”

Ishma immediately became angry, while Regis on the other hand was laughing.

Miko looked at Kaido’s clothing.

“Is that the academy's uniform?”

Kaido was wearing a black overcoat with blue stitches and a skull wearing a crown on the bottom left. He also had on a white dress shirt with a black tie underneath.

Kaido nodded.

“When are you planning to come to the academy?”

Miko was surprised to hear Kaido's question.

“Did the school announce my enrollment into the academy?”

He nodded.

“It caused a huge uproar too. There were a lot of people who wanted to see Nero and Kimiko's grandson. It was even used to draw more students to the academy.”

“What? Those bastards are using my name to recruit students?”

Kaido nodded.

“I didn't even get a single cheque. Who gave them permission to do that?”

Miko then paused and thought to himself.

“Then again, I have been committing all kinds of crimes and not a single law enforcer came after me or tried to arrest me.”

He entered deep thought.

“Could it be that the city officials are purposely overlooking my crimes just to continue using my name?”

Miko knew that something like that was possible, especially considering there should be a lot of people who would want to pit their children against someone like Miko who had a prolific background and bloodline.

Miko didn't like being used, but he also didn't mind having immunity, so it was hard for him to know if he should be grateful or angry.

“You go to the academy too, Gamiko?”

Hana asked excitedly.

“I haven't gone yet. I don't even know if I'll go in the future.”

“Oh, I'm jealous. I always wanted to go to the academy, but Kaido won't let me.”

Hana complained.

“Why?”

“The academy is a battle orientated place. Plus there's a lot of royalty there who have some sick taste in entertainment. It's too dangerous to let you go there.”

“If you're with me, I'll be fine Kaido. You're stronger than everyone there.”

Hana boldly declared.

“Stronger than everyone there?”

Hana nodded.

“Kaido is really really strong. He's the youngest Ruler but also has the 4th Throne. There's no one that can beat my Kaido there.”

Hana spoke as if she was speaking of her own achievements.

“Ruler? Throne?”

Miko heard some terms that interested him a little.

“Are those ranks and titles?”

Kaido nodded his head with a deadpan expression.

“Rulers are the top 20 ranked students, and the number of their throne is equivalent to the their rank in the top 20.”

“Then you're ranked fourth in the whole school?”

Kaido nodded.

“But his real strength is far above that!”

Hana quickly added.

“Is that so?”

Miko started to observe Kaido from a new standpoint.

He was [A Class] like him, but Miko could tell that his true strength was far above that.

Kaido gave off a calm and aloof aura at first, but if you pay attention you'll notice that it was actually beastly.

It was the aura a monster gives off when it's in slumber.

Calm and relax, but could turn extremely terrifying in a drop of a hat.

Miko thought to himself.

He couldn't help but to smile.

“Interesting.”

He mumbled to himself.

“Say Kaido, do you know a girl called Bloom?”

Miko suddenly remembered Bloom complaining about missing school because of him.

She was most likely talking about the academy.

A girl of her strength should at least be a Ruler like Kaido.

“If you're talking about Bloom Newgate, then yes.”

Kaido responded.

“What's her rank among the Rulers?”

“Sixth.”

“Sixth?”

Miko was surprised to hear that.

Although the two of them hadn't fought seriously, he was certain that Bloom was quite powerful.

Powerful enough to make him activate [Sin King] that he used against Marco.

If she's sixth and Kaido was fourth, what was the rest of the top ten was like.

“How do you become a Ruler?”

“Through the monthly ranking tournament. You just need to make it to the top 20 to become a Ruler.”

“If that's the case, then the top 20 seats probably gets changed regularly.”

Kaido nodded.

“The 20th Throne to the 15th Throne changes every month. The 14th to the 11th gets changed every 3 months sometimes longer.”

“And the top ten?”

In a way, whoever rules the academy rules the city.

This could be seen from the fact that the academy headmaster, Jun Mizune was the Pillar with the most influence in the city.

If Miko could become #1 Ruler in the academy he would gain a lot of influence in the city.

“Looks like after weeks I've finally found a way to claim the city, and it was through the way I rejected before I came here.”

Miko laughed at the irony.

“One last question Kaido. Is there a way other than through tournaments to become a Ruler?”

Kaido nodded.

“You can directly challenge a Ruler for his Throne. If they accept and you win that would be called Usurping The Throne. That's how I became a Ruler.”

He suddenly remembered something, although it didn't show on his face.

“The top 10 Rulers are a exempt from participating in the monthly ranking tournaments. So if you want to join the top ten you'll need to usurp the throne. But the top ten don't normally accept challenges unless it's one of our Bi-Monthly challenges.”

“Bi-Monthly challenges? Do you mean you'll have to accept a challenge every two months?”

He nodded.

“Otherwise we’ll lose our authority as a Ruler. A lot of Rulers accept only challenges from opponents they know they can beat to keep their title. While others only accept rising stars and other big name challengers to further build their reputation. I just choose them at random to be honest.”

“I see. Thank you for the information.”

He then looked at Hana.

“Thank you for telling me about your eyes. It furthered my insight on Infecteds.”

“No problem. I was just glad that I could assist you.”

Hana said with a bright smile.

“This girl is really like an angel.”

Miko mumbled to himself.

“Well, I guess the next time I'll see you is at the academy.”

After Miko left, Kaido and Hana remained in the park.

“So that was Miko. How was he to you Kaido?”

Hana looked at Kaido and asked.

“A little mischievous.”

Kaido immediately answered.

“What's wrong with that? It just means that he's fun loving.”

“Hana.”

“Yes.”

“Sorry for putting you in danger like that.”

“It's okay. You were interested in Miko, so I was glad to help you. Even if I had to go through an unpleasant experience.”

Kaido said nothing and had a deadpan expression.

“Hey, I said don't worry about it. I'm fine. Besides I knew that you were waiting nearby, so I wasn't scared.”

“You're still the only one that can tell my emotions from my face.”

“You've maybe forgot how to expression them freely, but I can still see them as clear as day.”

Hana smiled gently at him.

“I see. Oh, how's your eyes? You still can't control them?”

Hana suddenly stop smiling and shook her head.

At that moment, her silver eyes became a burning red. They were also clear and looked lively.

Hana could see with these eyes.

“I can only see the world for a few seconds before my ability starts to drive everything mad.”

Her eyes turned Silver and cloudy again.

“Don't worry. After I defeat MYTH and gain all their technology, I'll find away to suppress your Mad Eyes, so that you could freely see the world without the fear of killing someone or driving them insane.”

Hana smiled again when she heard that.

She wrapped her arms around Kaido’s.

“Thank you. I can't wait to finally be able to see your face.”

Kaido nodded.

“I promise.”

His deadpan eyes were burning with determination.
