Miko sat on his throne and looked down on the group of people in front of him.

They were dressed in some of the most luxurious clothes and had a regal air about them.

They were the royal families of the Azalea and Taurus Kingdoms. These Kingdoms were the ones Sola and Yota hailed from.

They were all on their knees, kneeling in front of Miko.

“May I inquire just what are you all doing?”

Miko asked with a calm voice.

“We’re here to issue an apology, your majesty.”

Said the bulkiest of the group.

He was Yota’s father and king of the Taurus kingdom.

“Apology?”

Miko frowned when heard that.

“Yes. We were foolish and didn’t see the light of day.”

Said King Taurus.

“Do you mean the act of cutting out your son’s tongue?”

Miko glared at him with eyes filled with hate and anger.

The king pressed his forehead on the ground as hard as he could.

“I deeply regret that. As to make amends, I plan to cut out my own tongue.”

The king quickly said.

“If I do that would you please forgive my kingdom?”

He asked with a desperate tone.

“That depends on your son.”

Miko looked at Yota who was standing to his left.

“…..Forgive them, Don. What I did was against our law and I got the appropriate punishment. There’s no need to pursue this any further.”

Said Yota.

Miko looked back at king Taurus.

“You heard him. You’re pardon. For now anyway.”

Miko then looked at a woman who was kneeling beside the king.

She was a woman who looked quite similar to Sola.

She was the queen of the Azalea Kingdom, Lola.

“And you?”

Miko said to her.

“I’m also here to ask for forgiveness. Not only from you, but my daughter as well.”

Said the queen.

“I know what I did was unforgivable and I deserve 1000 deaths for it, but please find it in your heart to forgive my lowly kingdom for my insolence.”

“You have a way for words. Quite poisonous if I say.”

Miko showed a cruel smile that made the queen gulped.

He then looked at Sola.

“What do you think?”

Sola looked at her mother with hatred.

However she quickly held her composure.

“Forgive her, Don. She may be a filthy bitch of a mother, but she’s still my mother.”

The queen was unhappy with the way sola described her, but she didn’t let it show and remained silent.

“Very well. I’m in a good mood today so I’ll act as the Buddha today and forgive your sins against me and my people.”

The group sighed in relief when they heard that.

“However, do it again and I’ll act as the devil and show you no mercy.”

“Of course.”

The king and Queen nodded with nervous expressions.

“Get out of my sight before I change my mind.”

“Of course, your majesty.”

The group of royals quickly dispersed as if they were afraid that Miko would change his mind.

“Thank you, Don.”

Yota thanked Miko.

“Hey, you two were the ones who got hurt. If you wish to forgive them then there’s nothing I can do.”

Miko said with a helpless expression.

“Thank you again.”

The two thank Miko again before leaving the throne room.

“There’s no one around. You can come out, Luka.”

Immediately after he said that, Miko’s shadow started to distort and Luka appeared from it.

She stood in front of him.

“What just happened? I’m confused. Why did a king and Queen come begging for your forgiveness?”

She asked.

“The people you just saw kneeling in front of me are mere puppets being control by a group of Parasite Demons I hired.”

“Then what about everything just now, like Yota and Sola forgiving their parents?”

“I brought them here to give sola and Yota some closure. Of course, those two don’t know that.”

“Then the two kingdoms are….”

Miko nodded.

“The two Kingdoms are now under my control.”

“What do you mean? Did you expect a grand war or something?”

“Not all battles are won with bloodshed. There are alternatives. Besides, if I was to start a war with them it would ruin my plans for the bigger picture. You of all people should know that.”

He said as he tapped her nose with his finger.

“I know that, but considering your temper I was certain that you would’ve went berserk.”

“Well, consider it as me maturing as leader.”

Miko said with a smile.

Luka looked at him funnily.

While what Miko did was extremely smart it was unexpected, to even someone like her.

Maturing? No, she didn’t believe it was as simple as that.

“What will you do to those you’re controlling after the plan is complete?”

She asked.

“Kill them of course.”

He said with no hesitation at all.

“Of course, ill make it look like they were assassinated by rival countries or died of natural causes. That way Sola and Yota won’t be able to link me to their deaths. I can’t afford to let them know and create the possibility of a rebellion after all.”

Miko said casually.

‘I was right.’

Luka thought while looking at Miko.

‘He’s become even more terrifying. He’s evolved.’

Miko rubbed his hands through her hair while staring her in eyes.

She could see affection for her, but their was a hint of coldness in them.

It was as if he was willing to detach himself from her if it was necessary.

He asked.

Luka saw various emotions in his eyes when said that.

She saw sadness, loneliness, nervousness, and longing.
