《The Ancient Crystal》Announcement

Hey everybody, sorry for the short haitus, I've been too busy over the past month to find time to work on the story, which has now caught up with all of the content that I had written back when I'd first created the series. I'm definitely committed to continuing the series, but I really enjoy this story and think that it has a lot of potential, and I don't want to squander that forcing myself to type up content for a weekly post. This is the type of story that I like to take my time on, refining the style, editing and revising the content and plot progression etc.
Some of you might have noticed that I've published the first book of the series on Amazon and enrolled it in the KDP program, which is why I've only left about ten percent of book one on RR. If you enjoy the story and want to show some support as I work on the second book, then I would really appreciate it if you picked up a copy in the kindle store! Such support really helps to encourage me to keep working on the coming content, and helps me open up time to write. Thank you all for your interest and support thus far, I'm really happy that I was able to share the beginning of this series that I was so obsessed with for such a memorable period of my life.
That brings me to the second book. To give you a general idea of the direction that the story will take, 1/3 of this book will cover Alistar as a 9-year-old / 10-year-old (a little bit ahead of where the last post left off), 1/3 will cover his preteen years, and the rest will centre on 14-year-old / 15-year-old Alistar, as he grows up in Mayhaven with his new family. One of the main antagonists of the series will also be introduced partway through this book, the title of which will be: The Timeless Curse. I'm a full-time student at the local university here and I've currently got two books to edit, format and publish, and two that I need to finish writing, then edit, format, publish (including Book Two of the Slave's Son Saga, this series). That being said, this is the one series that I am most eager to write, and I expect to have the second book finished by late summer / early fall. It should be around 100,000 words in length, or about 65-70 posts at once!

I hope that you keep this story followed, because I'll be announcing the publication of the second book with an update on this site. If you enjoy my writing style, try my other series on this site, The Archaic Ring. While the style is very different, it's still my unique take on a cultivation/xianxia story, and my own style nonetheless. I also want to point out that I got a good deal of downvotes and displeased readers once I started publishing my other books from RR, but I hope that anybody that might be a bit disgruntled can understand that I don't get paid to post here, and I've invested thousands upon thousands of hours into the works that I share on this platform. It's my decision, of course, but it kind of blew my mind how nasty some people were when I put some of my other stories on Amazon, over a few bucks smh.
Lastly, to everybody that's commented, rated, favourited, encouraged, offered edits/suggestions, offered thanks in the comment sections, and otherwise tried to help increase the story's exposure, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It wasn't just a few times that my bad mood was lifted after seeing a compliment or positive comment, and most of the time these simple gestures threw me right into the mood to write, so that I could return the thanks in my own way. Thank you all, and be safe in this acid trip of a reality that we live in.
Until the summer/fall, my friends!

From Nothing
Rejoice Humanity! You have been invited to join the Galactic Hegemon. It is time for our Centenary Caste Competition. The best 1% of humanity will be given a 1 cycle tutorial before the 5 cycle contest. Be brave, be bold, but most of all, be strong and earn your place and privileges. Burning red letters hung large in the vision of everyone on earth that knew a written language. At the same moment that smartest, fastest, and strongest people on the planet disappeared with nothing to mark their passing. After a cycle of training and growth they would compete to earn their place in their suddenly expanded galaxy. This is not their story. Joe did his best to take care of his parents house and stay healthy. He was the only one of the four family members not chosen. The societal upheaval made by the announcement made the inflation and purges of the 20's seem pleasant by comparison but he keeps his head down and survives. Once the next message arrives 11 months later about the contest starting, even that society broke down into city states around large population centers. Joe tightened his belt and looked forward to the day that his family returned. Two years later burning red letters once again filled his vision. Humanity, the last of your competitors have been eliminated. Your determined caste level is 13 of 13. As such your planet has been claimed and will be repurposed for ideal resource production. Rifts will be seeded across the planet to increase resources and mana density. Your orbit will be corrected to ideal Hegemon standard. Do not interfere with any Hegemon activity, as the bottom caste you have no rights. Rejoice that all castes receive at least the basic Hegemon Growth System. Better luck next century. Joe didn't comprehend any of it. His family was dead. Everything he cared about was gone.

The Princess And Her Warmonger
"Let me tell you a true story about a mouse and a Warmonger, and the unlikely relationship that sprouted between them in the time of endless war." Nostalisk is a world in endless constant war. The Factions of this world endlessly fight for power, this fighting called the Great Wars, a war that has been alive for over four million years. Currently, one of the largest Factions has withdrawn from the endless fighting. This Faction, known as the Kingdom, hopes to forget their past of endless bloodshed and how they were almost destroyed because of it. In the Kingdom, Princess Isalene, the only princess of the Kingdom, is stuck choosing a new personal guard after her previous one died. Despite her father, King Robert, helping her choose a new guard, Isalene decides to head to the arena to see how the knights on the list her father gave her act outside of the eyes of royals. When she arrives at the arena, she sees a knight fighting that is not on the list her father gave her. Named Cruel Knight, this knight is a vicious knight with confusing morals. Despite hating violence, Princess Isalene can't help but be drawn to the knight and their graceful yet cruel fighting style and strange weapons. Princess Isalene continues to watch them and soon learns that Cruel Knight is a Warmonger named Sharia, and is female at that, meaning she is a prisoner. She isn't in there for something simple as disobeying a direct order or killing a noble, but for prolonging a war. Despite knowing this, Princess Isalene can't stop thinking about the Warmonger and suddenly gets a "smart" idea. She'll make Sharia her new personal guard to find out more about her! What could go wrong? And so begins the odd relationship between Sharia The Warmonger and Princess Isalene. One is a peace-loving sheltered naive princess who hates violence and the other is a vicious, cold, twisted, and cruel Warmonger who hates the kind of peace Isalene and the current Kingdom loves. Polar opposites. Yet, even the Warmonger can't help but grow a strange liking to her new "annoyance". But, can the two really get along? After all, Sharia's whole mindset sees Isalene as a waste, and it seems that everyone Isalene talks to tells her to fire Sharia before something terrible happens. But, then again, during this time of budding danger, this odd couple may be what the Kingdom needs. After all, when a large faction such as the Kingdom starts growing soft and weak, they become a rather irresistible target. [After thinking on it, I decided to start a re-write of The Princess And Her Warmonger, adding more details, fixing the switching POVs somewhat, and fixing some of the issues with the story. Don't worry, all of the chapters are still here, I am just making new ones and replacing the old chapters one at a time] (This story can also be found on Scribble Hub and Webnovel) [Cover art is not mine]
