《The Life of a Dungeon》Chapter 7

The first thing that Teaghan did was to check on the underwater lake. She looked into the dark water and saw some shapes, but really could not get a good look at them.
After a couple of hours studying the lake, Teaghan decided to give up on that venture for now and go look at the cave system.
What she saw was amazing. When she was expanding her domain, she could only claim a tiny part of the cave system. What she could see seems to be a complex cave system with what might be multiple ecosystems. But Teaghan could see that the slope of the flow led down.
Teaghan decided to leave both the lake and cave system for another time when she was more equipped to deal with it.
So, for now, she decided to start on her next level. This time, Teaghan chose to go with a maze layout. From what she remembered reading from online books, many dungeons decided to do mazes, and Teaghan decided that she was going to take inspiration from the stories and make it her own.
She decided that one half of the floor would be a maze and the other half an open room, with the boss and core room attached by a small passage.
The first thing Teaghan did was start the maze. She carved the passages to curve, increase and decrease in slope. The passageways were about 1.6 metres tall and one metre wide.
The maze mainly stayed on the east and south side of her domain while leaving the west, the underwater lake and the cave system clear. On the west side, Teaghan carved a long c-shaped cavern. At the end of the cavern, she added a small passage to the boss room.
Teaghan felt that it was time to move her core room to the second floor, and in a flash, her room was instantly teleported. What welcomed her, of course, was a blue screen.

Congratulations! You have made your second floor.
You have gained 5 DP
She was startled. Teaghan took stock of her core and her room and saw nothing remiss. Seeing that she was okay, she took stock of the rest of her dungeon and saw nothing was wrong. Seeing as everything was fine, she went back to working on her second level.
Teaghan decided to use bomba trees within the maze portion. She placed the seeds into the walls every one metre and used mana to accelerate their growth. Once she finished growing the tree’s she stepped back and saw a beautiful pathway with sweet-smelling purple and white flowers and leaves with entwined branches.
Next, Teaghan decided to place the foxfire fungus around the trunks of the trees and radiance quartz above the roof of branches, hidden from sight but still somewhat lighting the way. Teaghan made sure that both of these light produces were few, so to only cast a slight glow in the tunnels to make future “guests” or “adventures” if they are called that on Sakivis, able to see.
Teaghan decided that this would be her first floor that will have the living fossils on it. So she made the maze area where the petonx lizard would stay. In turn, she made tunnels small enough for the lizards to move around all over the maze.
She then spawned multiple breeding pairs and decided to increase the growth rate to increase the number of creatures on the second floor. Teaghan chose to leave the lizards for a couple days to see if it will work.
Next, she decided to play around with some of the plants. She pulled up the white bat flower in her mind’s workspace. Looking at the flower in her workspace,
Teaghan took the white bat flower and increased the length of the whiskers. She got rid of the white flowers and increased the black. Deciding to try something new, Teaghan injected some mana into the flower’s petals. The outcome was very unexpected. The petals turned smoky, almost going in and out of focus, making it harder to see with the human eye. Next, she decided to merge the calleta caterpillars’ paralyzing venom with some of the flowers’ tentacles. Allowing the flower to both have minor acidic venom in some tentacles, with paralytic venom in the other tentacles.

When Teaghan was finished, she had a different flower than what she started out with. She even had a blue screen describing the new flower called “Shadow Bat”. She then placed them throughout the maze throughout the trees.
Seeing how well changing the white bat flower went, she decided to change some of the creatures. But before that, she decided to make most of the maze portion of the floor poisonous.
After deciding to add some variety to the tree’s, she took the bomba tree in her mind’s workspace. Teaghan took the sweet scent that the tree gave off and changed it so that it had a slightly paralytic part of the scent. Not enough to paralyze a person, but just enough to make them lose part of their reaction time and make them slow.
Next, she decided to slightly change the large praying mantis. She created the mantis in her mind’s workspace and decided to make different changes to different praying mantises. On some, she shrunk down its body and added acidic features to its claws. While some of the other ones, she increased their size and increased the strength of their claws. Teaghan then placed the various variations of the large praying mantis throughout the maze.
Once she was done with the maze, Teaghan turned her attention to the cavern.
Deciding to try something new, Teaghan took some dirt and mixed it with some of her mana, changing the mana’s clear to lightly brown. Wanting to see the effects, she pulled an eaholia pine seed and injected the light brown mana into it. When she was done, she received a blue screen.
Congratulations! You have created an earth element enhanced pine tree.
Teaghan, seeing this, pulled up the description of the earth enhanced pine tree. She found that the earth mana enhanced the eaholia pine tree, allowing it to become stronger and bigger.
After seeing this, Teaghan summoned and injected earth mana into the eaholia pine trees and spread them throughout the floor. When she used mana to grow them, they shot up quickly and grew to bigger sizes than the ones on the first floor. She then added grass to the ground.
After a couple minutes of just watching these trees, Teaghan had a thought. What if she could inject elemental mana into a creature.
Teaghan quickly pulled created a cotton-tail rabbit and injected it with earth mana. When she did this, the rabbit started to twitch and change before her eyes. It grew a lot bigger, now the size of a medium-sized dog. The rabbit had stone and dirt plates around its body, with its fur darkening into a dark brown. The plates also extended to its face, creating layers around its eyes and neck. But the most interesting thing is that the rabbit had a spike growing out of its nose.
Teaghan realized the potential of these creatures and quickly created more with safe burrows. She then decided to make them the main monsters on the floor.
Once she was somewhat done with the cavern part of the floor, she decided to focus her attention back on the maze.

High school life in a world where everyone has superpowers
So, um... how do I explain this simply? Okay, so... There's a girl, she's er... She's in high school, and, um... She has a superpower that mutes things? Also she lives? Yeah, sorry. The concept's too confusing isn't it? Warning: The stuff below is technically correct, but this fiction, with my other, is now on the failed pledge list. Shocking how a lack of updates for more than half a year actually meant something... Sorry for the delay, still not really up to writing for this series as of now (14/03/18 - remember I'm english, so correct) but I'm still trying to get into writing... Cover is thanks to Zenlith (WriTE's Founding Member). This fiction is signed under the 'The Pledge'... Some internet message in a forum about not dropping or giving a rushed ending in their fiction, otherwise meet the wrath of letting RRL mod Vocaloid have 'fun' with the fiction's description. So mainly for the sake of my fiction due to said wrath, I'll see this fiction through. Updates: up in the air... hopefully the day after this is edited, but we all have dreams. Warning for mild profanity, but it shouldn't happen too much for the innocent out there so don't take the warning to heart.

Grim Beginnings
For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment. Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal. While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.
