《The Life of a Dungeon》Chapter 15

Teaghan was surprised that the three kobolds gained a job, and she pulled up the description to the "Excavator" job.
Excavator
This job allows the user to expose, process and record ancient remains. This job allows the user to have a high level of excavation skills. The user would be able to record information of the dig site to properly excavate. It also allows the user to instinctively know where to dig and how to carefully excavate.
After reading the job description, Teaghan was very happy. Then, after thinking for a few moments, she realized that the kobolds with this job would fit perfectly with Jack, the fossil hunter.
Teaghan figured that it was best to get the kobolds together, so she summoned Jack to the small tunnel that connected the second floor to the cave system. She expanded the tunnel to allow Jack through and sent him to help the excavators and to look for any more fossil types in the area.
Teaghan completely pulled her attention to what the kobolds were digging up. Slowly but surely, more and more pieces of bone were uncovered. After a couple of hours, Jack and the excavators finally uncovered the whole skeleton.
The fully uncovered skeleton had a skull, one arm, a couple of claws, two legs, most of its spine and a couple pieces of broken ribs. Teaghan carefully absorbed the fragments of the skeleton and received a blue screen for her work.
Herrera
A long-extinct species of giant lizard that lived in forests. This species stands at one foot tall and three feet long. It has long, powerful hind legs for running and short forelimbs with three recurved claws for grasping and raking. Its lower jaw possessed large inward-curving teeth, and it was flexible for holding prey.
'Oh, this was amazing. I must show Lilith' thought Teaghan.

« Lilith, Lilith! Come take a look at this » shouted Teaghan.
« No need to yell,» said Lilith, sounding kind of annoyed. « Now, what was it that you wanted to show me? »
« Look at what the kobold found » said Teaghan as she showed Lilith the blue screen description of the herrera.
When Teaghan showed it to Lilith, she started to laugh.
« Oh my, this is great! This is great for us and the dungeon. »
Teaghan just watched Lilith laugh, and awkwardly just backed away and began to focus on the dungeon again. But not before deciding to add the herrera to the fourth floor. She also gave orders to the excavator kobolds and Jack to find more exciting things in the rooms that she already claimed and dig them up.
When she focused back on the third floor, she had a brilliant idea. Teaghan decided that she would try to use cross-breed on a hunter scorpion ant and a giant wolf spider.
She selected one of each of the creatures already living on the floors and brought them into an empty closed off experiment room.
Unlike what she did with the smaller rooms with the plants that were placed and placed the cross-breed skill on the whole room, Teaghan meant to use it specifically on the two creatures.
She opened her status screen, selected the ability, and unlike last time, a blue screen popped up.
Please choose the creatures you would like to "Cross-Breed"
She selected the two creatures in her core room, and they started slightly glowing. When the two creatures started glowing, another screen popped up.
Cross-Breed Percentage: 0%
Teaghan looked back at the glowing creatures and looked back at the blue screen.
Cross-Breed Percentage: 6%
She oversaw the creatures and the screen until it was almost done.

Cross-Breed Percentage: 99%
When the timer finished, the hunter scorpion ant and wolf spider disappeared, and a blue screen appeared.
Cross-Breed Was Successful
When she got the successful cross-breed blue screen, a new creature appeared in the same spot the ant and wolf spider disappeared.
This new creature looked like a combination of the giant wolf spider and the hunter scorpion ant. This new creature was big, a lot bigger than a giant wolf spider, a bit bigger than the boss's size on the second floor. It had a chitinous shell-like armour covering its legs, body, and head. It had pinchers half the size of its body, and the fangs looked to be razor-sharp.
After Teaghan had her fill with studying the new creature, she looked at its description.
Harvestman Hive
This species of spider contains a hive mind. This group is controlled by a queen, who is the only one that produces offspring, and the rest, the soldiers, obey her command. The standard spider grows around three to five metres long, while the queen would grow to ten to twelve metres. This spider species can create highly durable silk, and it has the ability to fight on the silk.
Her first time using the cross-breed ability on just two creatures turned out pretty well. Teghan was just delighted.
She summoned five harvestmen into the spider section of the third floor. Out of the five she summoned, one of them was a queen. This surprised Teaghan as she didn't mean to summon a queen, but she did, and the queen quickly took control of the soldiers and off they went. Teaghan watched as they explored their portion of the floor, which surprised her because they instinctively knew which area was theirs and which area they were not to go into. After about an hour, the harvestman hive found a spot to set up camp, and the queen started producing silk, which the soldiers used to build the nest.
Teaghan decided that she was done with the spider section and went to create the kobold section.
She used her geomancer ability to create the village. It was like the village on the first floor, except Teaghan decided to change the layout. She made wood fencing, with outposts on the four corners, with one entrance. Inside the village, Teaghan used the ability to create multiple huts around a fire pit. Around the outside of the village, she added little blockades, kobold sized.
Teaghan summoned twenty kobolds to fill the village and watched them get to work exploring their village and area.
Teaghan also wanted to add another creature to this floor, an upgraded version of the petonx lizard.
In her mind's workshop, Lilith and Teaghan explored how to change the lizard. They decided that they would try injecting some earth mana into the lizard to see what would happen.
When they injected the mana, the lizard started growing two times bigger than what it once was. Teaghan quickly summoned one to see what else changed. She released the lizard and let it roam. They found out soon that this lizard could manipulate earth slightly, making it more dangerous.

I hope you enjoy.
