But… Somehow I’m certain that it’s not Water.
If it’s not Water… then what?
In fact, I’m certain it’s not liquid nor gas.
It’s… solid.
Is my element Earth? No…
Similar to Earth element, but more specific…
I feel as if small grains are flowing through my veins. Flowing with the blood in harmony.
Small no, not small. Tiny. Tiny grains in large numbers.
Is it… Sand?
As I made my guess, I open my eye and see sand flowing around my hands.
“Awuu!” I really am a Cultivator! And with a rare element!
“You did it, Latifa!” Miss exclaims with a big smile on her face.
I look at the sand coiling around my hands like a snake.
It is pretty. It’s as if the sand is sparkling.
Sooo…… How do I stop this?…
I try to cancel, stop, return the sand back, but without a success.
“Awu? Awu!” I start panicking.
“It’s okay, don’t panic. If you are unable to cancel it, just release it.” Miss says to me.
Release? How do I release it?! Miss, don’t ask for the impossible, please!
I shake my hands trying to get rid of the sand.
Shake, shake.
Nothing is happening, the sand keeps floating around my hands as if refusing to disappear.
What to do?… Go away, please… Y- you are scaring me…
“Awuu… Aa-aawuuu…” I start crying.
Miss, I’m scared. It won’t go away.
Miss grabs my hand and points it towards the window.
She then closes her eyes and concentrates.
Miss, what are you doing?
Then, I feel a hot substance entering my body through my hand.
Crackle.
My hand suddenly starts burning in black flames, but it’s not hot.
Are these Miss’s flames?
The black flames push forward towards my fingertips.
I can feel my hands getting warmer and warmer.

Then, once their reach the fingertips.
Booom!
“Awuu!” I cry in surprise.
The window shatters and half of the courtyard become covered in sand and glass.
“Awwwuuu?!” I look at the scene in amazement.
“Fuuu~” Miss lets out a long sigh.
“See? It’s not scary anymore.” She says while smiling.
Bang!
The door quickly opens and Sophia runs in.
“Miss, are you alright?!” She looks worried to death.
Uhh… I made Sophia so worried about Miss. I’m a failure of a maid…
“It’s okay. Moreover, look.” Miss says while pointing at a small ring on my left pinky.
Ring on my pinky? How did it get there?…
“That’s… Mark of the Element?!” Sophia shouts in bewilderment.
Mark of the Element? What’s that? If it can make Sophia shout like that… Is it dangerous?
“A- awuu?” I ask worriedly. A- am I in danger?
“Ah, I’m sorry, Latifa. I must have startled you.” Sophia apologizes to me.
No, no, no. I shake my head.
But, am I going to be okay?
“Mark of the Element appears only on those who were chosen by the element itself.” She explains.
Chosen by the element? How is that possible?
And if that’s possible why Sand? What could Sand possibly see in me?…
“Latifa, you still don’t understand how rare Mark of the Element is. Owners of the Mark of the Element in Quas Empire can be counted on one hand.” Sophia adds after seeing me gloss over it.
“Oh? So, only a few people have that?” Miss says while playing with a black necklace.
A black necklace..? Since when did Miss start wearing a necklace- Eh?! Miss has it too?!
Eh?! Miss has it too?!
“Eh…? Miss… Is that?…” Sophia asks Miss.
“Ah, this?” Miss says while tugging on the black necklace.
“Yeah, it’s what you think it is.” Miss says indifferently.
“Ahh… I think I’m having a headache…” Sophia says while holding her forehead.
I caught a glimpse of Sophia’s blue bracelet when she raised her hand to her forehead.
