《Dragon Ball: Saga Of The Strongest Human》Chapter 20: The Grand Elder

The grand elder smiled and his face was peaceful with no worries at all. That was probably accounting to his respectable old age. But do not confuse that with weakness. Right now the elder looked pretty healthy and nothing like in the canon a few years later.
"Come here, Child. Let this old man see what you know. It should be impossible that there are other Dragonballs. If you really tell the truth, I will know. Only then will I make a decision about letting you collect the wishing beads.", stated Guru to him.
It seemed the grand elder still had a pretty good hearing and heard the conversation outside the building. It was now up to Darc to decide if he would comply.
Darc naturally nodded and walked to the side of Guru´s throne. Darc also hoped at that point that the old geezer made preparations for this outcome. If not, then the matter about his realm and Darc´s old life would be exposed. But at the same time, he also doubted it would come to that.
Guru placed his hand on Darc´s head and started reading his memories. "Please clear your mind. Try to relax.", said the grand elder.
Darc did clear his mind after being prompted by Guru and soon the elder found the memories he looked for.
"Ah, yes. I remember now. The child of Katas...Torn into two by an inner conflict. What a terrible fate. But it is good to see that he is still alive and now the guardian of Earth. He was a gifted member of the dragon clan. That explains the Dragonballs on your planet." He removed his hand from his head and continued. "You did not lie and you also do not seem to have evil intentions with the Dragonballs. So I will grant my permission for you to use the beads. Here is the first one", he said and grabbed one gigantic Dragonball behind his head. He placed it into Darc´s hands. "The other ones are in the villages. Moori can lead you so that you can collect them."
It looked like the grand elder only saw his memories from his current life with some knowledge added that he knew about Kami. Good, fewer problems for him.
Darc had a glittering happiness in his eyes after receiving the Dragonball with the 1-star in it and nodded. "Thank you, grand elder", he replied.
"But I would also like to stay here for a while and train before using the Dragonballs.", Darc continued and pointed at Nail. "Nail would be a perfect candidate. I can feel immense strength coming from him. I could learn a lot.", was added with a smile.

Nail just looked at Darc surprised and then at the grand elder, waiting for an answer.
The grand elder remained silent at first and seemed to think about something. "There is a lot of strength hidden inside you. You don't really need to train with Nail. I can unlock it for you. Just stay still.", he answered and placed his hand on Darc again. This time Guru concentrated more than before and a little of white energy enveloped his hand.
But even after a long while nothing happened. In the case of Krillin, he would be enveloped by surging energy but not for him.
The only thing that did actually happen was that out of a sudden Guru lifted his hand and started coughing violently. He looked a little bit pale and exhausted.
"Grand Elder!!", both Moori and Nail cried out. Darc also furrowed his brows.
"It's alright, my children. I am fine", he ensured them and turned his focus back at Darc. "Child, you are remarkable. Never did something like this happen before. I would normally have no problems to unlock one's potential. It's just that your potential is like an ocean without an end. Pulling some of it out just made me exhaust all my magic...", he said to Darc and slowly looked better than before.
Darc, on the other hand, didn't feel anything though. "You did? But why don't I feel anything at all?", he said in wonder and looked down at himself.
"Why don't you try to raise your energy output right now? You will see what I mean. If you really can't feel anything after your power gets increased, then it only proves that your potential is enormous."
Darc nodded and put the dragon ball to the side. Then he stood somewhere with more space and started to pump out his energy and immediately a white aura surrounded him.
Darc was surprised at first because normally that didn't happen so quickly. Only after he came near his maximum output would his aura flare up a little. But it did already flare up so soon without any strain and it was strong and stable.
Then he wrinkled his eyebrows and he started to go further. He felt a power rising inside his heart and he felt intoxicated.
His aura slowly became fiercer than before and the ground tiles cracked underneath his feet. And even the whole place in itself slowly started shaking uncontrollably. It was not only this place but people could feel the shaking even further away. It was actually the planet that started to react.
Only when small electric arcs were produced through the friction between the air and his aura did Darc start to stop his output. It was just one small moment. A minute maybe at most. But it was terrifying. He didn't stop because that was his maximum power but just that he couldn't control the energy. And that could mean bad things. If the planet reacted like that already then what would happen later on?

He sighed deeply after his aura stopped completely and he could somewhat suppress it. He looked at his hands. What the hell? What is this immense power? That shouldn't happen after getting Guru´s power up. Sure, Krillin was also euphoric but still. He was genuinely confused.
Guru, Nail, and Moori started to sweat a little because of the immense pressure they felt just now.
"What unbelievable power. And I only managed to pull out a small amount...", Guru commented on the display of his strength.
After thinking for a while his frowning brows arched up and Darc started to smile really brightly. He started to feel amazed and now couldn't control his happiness any longer. His heart was just too excited.
This, This right here was the dream of so many people from his previous life. Being able to shake the planet with one's anger. His euphoric feelings could also be probably explained because he still had a small child's body. Sometimes it reacted weirdly.
"Haha! Thank you, grand elder! This is amazing!", he shouted out to Guru.
Nail and Moori smiled bitterly. If he now decided to go against them, they couldn't stop him.
"I will make sure to repay this kindness.", said Darc grinning from one ear to the other.
Guru smiled at his words. "Thank you, child. That would be appreciated."
Even Moori and Nail nodded in gratitude to his sentence. It meant they befriended a powerful ally.
"But I must still say. I wonder why I didn't feel anything at first? Well, nevermind that. It's still amazing.", Darc said bewildered.
Maybe that is also why the divine water didn't feel like anything? Maybe his potential was just so great that the divine water was just like a drop in the ocean?
But then why didn't he even feel elder Guru´s unlocking? It kinda resembled the mystic unlock from Gohan. Gohan also didn't feel his power rising until he lost patience and burst out with it.
He then smiled and sighed after he calmed down a little. "One thing is for sure. I still need to train myself in the control of this power now.", he commented.
He looked to Guru "I will go meditate for about two weeks or so first and then collect the Dragonballs later. I am really thankful that you helped me out to get stronger.", he added
"It's alright. We can wait.", said elder Moori and Guru only dittoed with a silent nodding.
Being finished with most things here Darc took the Dragonball and said goodbye to the grand elder and the other two. Then he moved out to some remote place and started his meditation. He needed to get a clear grasp on his powers.
----
Two weeks later.
Darc opened his eyes from meditation and a weak gust of wind shot out from his body. He outstretched one arm, clenched his fist in front of him and grinned. He got the most part of his power now under control. He would still need training to completely control it but he knew now to what extent his power reached. Let's say it didn't take much to ki blast a planet to smithereens at his current state.
But that also made him know how dangerous it was not to have any control over such power or going overboard. Fighting an enemy with about the same strength would also become a test on its own. You need to hurt the enemy and refrain from destroying the planet while doing so.
The energy would also be pretty wasted when you just let it gush out uncontrolled, to say the least.
Closing his eyes again he looked at his meridians in his body. They were now a lot clearer and the energy trickled much faster inside them. The quality of ki being higher was also a good thing.
He was happy that he managed to make some progress in that regard as well. With more ki, it was much easier to purify his meridians in a faster manner. And that was not all. His energy also seemed to still grow even now...
He wondered what would happen if the old supreme Kai unlocked the rest of his potential? Of course, only considering if he could.
Darc did also invest some time thinking about why he has so much potential. In his eyes, it easily outperformed Gohan´s and Frieza´s. And they were said to have the greatest potential. The former based on fans and the opinion of the z fighters and the later was acknowledged even by Beerus.
Well, that´s brain fodder for another time. He didn't really oppose the fact that he had it. It was just a surprise for him. Being lucky actually is possible it seems.
In any way. He should go now and collect the Dragonballs. Only about half of his time from his holidays was left now. If he didn't make sure to accelerate his plans he would not be able to keep his promise to his mother.
And that he wouldn't end well. Got to hurry.

Zeke Herald, Goblin Slayer
Zeke wakes up inside a small cavemouth, no memories or direction, just the will to live. Also, he's smack dab in the middle of a forest that's teeming with ugly little goblins. The only good goblin is one with a sword sticking out of it, as my father used to say. I tried to incorperate LitRPG elements. I'm only recently introduced to the genre, but I find it really fasinating! So intrigued I even started writing a little story expressing my joy of all things numerical! This story has a focus on hardwork and deliberate progression, no magical deus ex machinas here sorry.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.

A tale about the resilience of humanity's will to live. A tale, not of the soldiers, but of the people they embody, not of machines, but of workers who built them. A tale about advancement and regression. Of irony. Of iron. A story, of Shattered Oceans. A tale, of Broken Dreams
