《Godly System》Prologue

Prologue
A middle-aged man calmly stepped out of an airport in a calm fashion. His hair was slicked back in a tidy manner to contrast with his golden-rimmed antique glasses. Along with his tailored brown suit stern face, neat and tidy was the only impression one could have for this man.
"Where to sir?" The driver respectfully asked the middle-aged man as he stepped into the luxurious car.
"Straight to my mansion," the man smilingly replied.
This man was Lin Feng, also known as the Business Tycoon. He was a legend among the business world and a household name. Forging his company from nothing despite getting disowned by his family. One could not help but respect such a figure.
Lin Feng had finished his business in Yutoria earlier than expected. He was headed straight home to surprise his beautiful wife. The trip was expected to take 3 months but he had somehow finished in a month. He could not wait to see his wife's face of joy when he returned.
The drive was a long one. His mansion was located right in the middle of Ten so he could have quick access to his HQ when he needed. The airport was located on the outskirts of Ten so the trip took more than an hour combined with the busy traffic.
The sun was just about to set when he arrived at his traditional oriental styled mansion. He quickly bid farewells to his driver and walked through his frontyard.
A smile crept on his face when he saw the carefully tended trees and bushes along with his man made pond that contained many koi fishes.
His wife was Feng Weinai, a housewife. Despite that title though, she doesn't actually do any work as there were maids to follow her every need in the mansion. She was also the reason for his success.

She was the only person in his life who had supported all of his decisions. Lin Feng's family did not support his decision to be with her and disowned him as a result. Despite that, she did not leave him and continued to support him through thick and thin.
Her support meant the world to him. After he was disowned, his friends and followers all chose to abandon him. He no longer had any use to them if they can't leech the benefits of the Lin family from him.
He also had to deal with the endless entourage of Feng Weinai's pursuers. Feng Weinai was formerly known as a goddess in her prime. Many rich and powerful men lowered themselves to her doorsteps to have a chance with her. Even so, she still remained with him, a pathetic abandoned son who had nothing.
Despite being in her 50s right now, she was still as beautiful as a flower and looked no younger than 30. And that was why he was acting like a thief in his own house. His footsteps made little to no sound as he approached his wife's office. He wanted to have a little "fun" with her.
Thinking of the things he could do to her, his little brother uncontrollably swelled up to pitch a tent on his pants. He made it to his wife's office without a hitch but the following scene he saw brought his world crumbling down.
Feng Weinai's office had walls made out of glass. It was nicely situated next to the living room so anyone going through the living room could perfectly see what she was doing. She was wearing a red dress that nicely exposed her cleavage and backside and was pinning a young man to her sofa.
"My husband won't be home for a while..." Feng Weinai sexily breathed onto the boy.

The young man was obviously inexperienced and nervous as his hands fumbled through her red dress. Feng Wainai let out a melodious laughter when she saw this.
"Calm down. It's my first time doing it with another man too, you know?" her flawless, slender hand carassed the boy's face. She was incomparably beautiful with her smile that had red lipsticks on.
"I-I-Is this really okay?" the boy stuttuered. He looked like he just entered highschool.
"I already told you that my husband won't be home for a while." Her big, pearly eyes stared directly into the boy's, intimidating him.
Lin Feng could obviously not stand it any longer. His eyes became bloodshotted to the point where it looked like his entire eye became red but he did not do anything rash.
To get to his position today, he had to go through many dire situations. The more serious the situation, the calmer he became. He quietly made his way across the living room and unlocked one of the cabinets with his key revealing a black handgun.
His aged hand grasped onto it with no hesitation and his cold eyes darted to the glass room. The gun locked onto the boy under his wife.
Their face was about to touch.
Lin Feng gripped harder onto the gun and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A spiderweb crack formation appeared on the glass. He forgot that the glass was bullet proof but that was fine too. The sound of gunshot would freeze their body from fear.
"Dear!?" Feng Weinai yelled in shock and stood up.
Lin Feng did not reply and entered the room. Feng Weinai immediately ran over to clutch his arm. "I can explain!"
Lin Feng ignored her and aimed his gun at the young man who had shamefully pissed himself. Without saying a word, he pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Just like that, a life taken. The young man's body quietly slid down the sofa. He would never make a sound again. Lin Feng felt a bit empty inside. This was his first time killing someone. But he was not done yet. His wife was still clutching onto his arm, trembling from fear.
He looked down and... they made eye contact.
Lin Feng couldn't help but soften his heart as he gazed into those beautiful eyes.
"Dear..."
It was unknown who said it first. Lin Feng's heart ached uncontrollably with pain. He was an emotionaly man. When he was young, he would come crying in her embrace when he failed a huge project and she would support and console him.
"... Why...?"
"..."
"I see."
Bang!
Feng Weinai's body gracefully slumped onto the ground like the most beautiful rose withering in face of the harsh weather. A single drop of tear slid down Lin Feng's face and dropped onto the dead body of his wife.
He did not know why he pulled the trigger. Perhaps he wanted to preserve the assertive yet supportive image of his wife. What he happened today, he would never forget.
Lin Feng slowly dragged his body to the window. There, he could see his man made pond. Inside the pond, the kois still swam as lively ever and in the middle, a black koi majestically jumped out of the pond like a king. When it drove down again, a family of blue koi fish crazily followed it, like a mighty king chased being chased by his harem.
"I should've gotten a mistress." Lin Feng bitterly thought when he saw the black koi and its harem. "But that's never going to happen."
He raised the gun to head and...
Bang!

Maker of Fire
On a world where magic kept civilization firmly in the bronze age, the Gods dropped an accountant and a mining engineer to start a political and industrial revolution. They wanted enlightened governance and a fast track to the iron age. They got indoor plumbing, paper airplanes, a cranky queen, and one very grumpy prophet. Dramatis Personae Aylem was a bookkeeping student when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as the greatest mage ever known, born into the ruling class of gigantic, magic-wielding humans. The Gods expect her to conquer the world and introduce double-entry accounting. Though Queen and numerical reformer, world conquest is stalled because everyone is scared of her and she doesn't like war. Emily was a retired engineer when she died. The Gods reincarnated her as one of the enslaved class of small, magicless humans. The Gods expect her to drag the world out of the bronze age. Though she's already recreated matches and wrought iron, introducing technology isn't going well because she was born a slave (oops) and having escaped, wants nothing to do with so-called "civilization." Asgotl was a whale when he died. The Gods reincarnated him as a griffin and expect him to have the same role he played in his previous life: to keep a reluctant prophet from walking off the job. If only they had remembered to tell him about it. Revised update schedule will be once a week on Saturdays, noonish Mountain Time (in North America)

Our Shattered Realms
*This is a learning experience for me so please keep in mind that I am attempting to work on some of the issues brought to my attention early on. However I haven't yet gone back to redo the early chapters.* Less than two days ago every piece of electronics in the world stopped working for more than two hours. The death toll was immense. Hospital equipment failed, cars stopped in the middle of the street, planes fell from the sky, and homework was lost at the worst possible moment. We found out that it was just the flicker and hum of The System warming up. Now we see the true cost of our new world. A Dark comedy that focuses on a few of the many people who aren't stuck in a high level dungeon when our world is translated and joined to Our Shattered Realms. This is my first story that I have published. I welcome any criticism that you have for me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!

Sir Grace Wachinga, Order of the Hatchet
Grace Howard, a tough street girl in Virginia could become a knight -- if she survives her education. She learns to fight and be a refined lady. She finds good friends, vicious enemies, and finally love and family. The Knight Riding School produces young knights capable of protecting victims the FBI and other agencies cannot. Police policies do not bind them. Carrying swords, knives, and other medieval weapons, they wear bulletproof vests, and use their horses and wolves as fighting and survival partners. I post a chapter about every two weeks, not for the writing part but for editing but because the editing process is so demanding. I give great thanks to those who have helped me learn the art and craft of writing a story, so easily told but written in blood.
