People have been asking me about the status of this story and I've been conflicted. Mainly because the version 2, [Born for the Apocalypse] -https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/52573/born-for-the-apocalypse
Is such a comprehensive update from the previous story when it comes to worldbuilding, writing quality and tension in the world, that I've kind of lost my motivation to continue writing this story. Negative ratings do impact an author, and a 4.04 with the top reviews being largely negative isn't really offering me much incentive to continue writing.
I was of a mind to release the 50k word backlog I have, but a lot of ideas in those have been used for the version 2, which just hit 100 pages, so it would be like spoilering my own story for others.
So yeah, if you want to check out how far I've improved, you can check out the link down below or above. The reviews so far have been glowing, and people really seem to like the version 2, which is about a pragmatic man's approach to the apocalypse.
I'm sure some people will be dissappointed by my decision, but all I can promise you is that I only get better with practise, not worse. That does make me apologetic, but I've already explained my reasoning.
Well, I'll just post the synopsis here to make it simple for y'all:

There is a historical point of divergence, but in the distant past. To paraphrase Twain: history in this world is not a repeat of our own, but it does often rhyme. And finally, this is not a setting that lends itself to happy endings.
