《When Plush comes to Shove》Chapter 10 - Never forget

*knock* *knock* *knock*
‘...’
“...”
*knock* *knock* *knock*
*groan* “... Plush… get the door…”
ZZZzzz.
“Don’t pretend to be sleeping by putting zeds on your mask…”
‘*groan*’
I start getting out of bed, making Lizz slide off of my head and onto the pillow.
I look at the mirror inside the room which I hadn’t even seen was here yesterday. And see that Lizz’s saliva has made for a nice substitute for... whatever it is that bed hair is caused by.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
I’m coming, I’m coming…
Too tired to even remember that I can’t actually talk, I start to walk towards the door, but when I get there I’m faced with a problem.
‘I can’t reach the handle…’
*knock* *knock* *knock*
I start trying to climb up to the handle of the door by phasing what would’ve been the palms of my hands into the inside of the door, not very deep so as to not be seen from the other side.
Once I get up to the door handle i grab it with one of my arms and hang my entire body weight from it while pushing the wall next to the door with my other hand, making the door open inwards.
*creak*
And as the door creaked open I could see a familiar blonde haired woman outside.
?
“Good morning! Since the chef doesn’t know what you eat I was sent to ask you, what would you like?”
I jump off of the door and go back to the bed.
*pok*
“Ow!”
And wake up Lizz with a flick to her forehead.
Anna came and wanted to know what we want for breakfast…
“You could’ve at least woken me up a bit gentler you fuck! And you don’t even need to fucking eat right?
Oh yeah...
“Is ‘Oh yeah…’ all you have to say for forgetting something like that? But since you don’t even eat I’d rather just follow Anna to the kitchen and see what they have.”
Alright, but hurry up, you said something about needing to be at the guild-whatever early right?
“No worries! I’ll just grab the food and eat it in the book!”

Lizz then flew up to the door and went outside with an unsteady path.
I could hear her talking to Anna on the other side about how I don’t need to eat as their voices slowly fade away.
Now that I’m out of the bed I do what every person who isn’t clinically insane does in the morning.
‘Just five more minutes.’
I get back in the bed while lying to myself and fall asleep again.
A while later I can hear the door opening again, when I look up I see Lizz followed by Anna who is carrying so many plates of food that I could hardly see her blond hair anymore.
“That will be fine, thank you, just put it down on the table plea-”
*pok*
“Ow! What the fuck!”
Don’t force Anna to do so much work, we are staying here for free after all.
“Thanks, but this much is nothing!”
I look behind Lizz and see that Anna has put down all the plates successfully and is looking at my mask while performing a guts pose, not even having broken a sweat.
“See?! There was no need for that Plush!”
“Since I have delivered the food I’ll take my leave now, although she hope that LIzz enjoys her food, the chef was kinda down about not having been able to make anything for you Plush.”
She says and closes the door before I can respond.
“Now hurry up and open the book so I can start eating!” Demands Lizz while drooling, but...
Will you even be able to take this with you?
“Sure I will! I was able to take my clothes after all!”
Well if you say so…
I pick up the book from under the bed.
‘Book, is it even possible?’
*flutter* *flutter*
With a familiar sound the book starts glowing again opens up, then multiple glowing blue hands, all with the word ‘Inventory’ on them, appear out of the book and start grabbing the plethora of plates on the table and carrying them into the book.
Then while Lizz was busy staring at the food with sparkling eyes and drooling mouth, one of the hands sneaks up on her from behind, this one reading ‘Familiars’, and grabs her, and with an ‘Eep!’ of surprise she is then dragged into the book.

After the book has calmed down, instead of closing on its own, it stays open.
Looking at the pages that the book is open on I can see a top down view of a modern day apartment with Lizz sitting in the living room, watching the TV while gorging food, making me hear all sorts eating and slurping sounds.
‘Well at least it seems to have worked, but this place… Why does it look exactly like my home!? It even has my couch and everything! She’d better not spill anything on it, it was really fucking expensive!’
While I’m saying this Lizz suddenly stops eating and stairs at the TV.
“Is that you Plush? How the fuck can you speak to me in here!?”
‘Wait, she can see what I’m saying?’
“Not just see, I can even hear a Fucking voice! Since when have you had a voice!?”
This went on for a while, eventually devolving into just shouting random words and phrases at each other, somehow.
“Don’t be uppsetti!” She shouts while raising a plate of yellow food towards the ceiling.
*SLAM*
I close the book before letting her finish what she was saying.
Yet I can still hear her talking in my mind.
‘God fucking dammit!’
And suddenly I can hear Lizz having a laughing fit, followed by a loud ‘Ow!’, which was in turn followed by a series of creative cursing, including something about how the sopha has betrayed her by not catching her when she fell off.
‘*sigh*’
I then put the book on my back while reluctantly accepting that I will have to deal with her lunacy, and unlike before I can no longer stop her with a forehead flick.
I look outside the window and see that there are no carriages as far as I can see, while the pedestrians are as plentiful as yesterday, though now all of them seems to be fishermen rather than armored people with weapons.
I walk out into the hallway and see Anna waiting outside, I ask her if it’s fine if I exit through the window instead, so that I don’t have to go to the ground floor only to climb up the outside of the house again.
At first she’s doubtful, but after convincing her that I’m a good enough climber that the chances of me falling and getting hurt are much lower than the chances of me being stepped on by a pedestrian she agrees while giving me a thumbs up, saying that I might as well just use the window as both entrance and exit, and that she’ll tell the others so they don’t worry if I’m suddenly not in my room, on the condition that I’ll at least tell them when I’m leaving for good and that I’ll join them for dinner sometime, even if I don’t eat anything myself.
Agreeing to the terms and conditions, I then walk back into my room and exit through the window.
Just like yesterday I start off slow and steady and increase my pace bit by bit until I'm practically flying across the roofs.
When I get to the plaza I see that this part of the town is almost empty, all the people who were here yesterday are gone, so I slide down to the first floor of the building I’m on and decide to try something out.
Instead of simply sliding down all the way, I jump off of the building and try to use phasing to cushion the fall.
As I reach the ground my legs start going into it, at first they sink as fast as I was falling, but they quickly slow down and decelerate the fall, eventually making me come to a standstill while the ground reaches up to my knees, but the green glow reaches all the way up to where my belly button would’ve been if I had one, so I guess that means I had a good safety margin.
‘But I should probably still practice this a bit more before I try from higher up.’
I then get back up and start strolling towards the guild entrance.

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.
