Hmmph... Rishya Mullight is the name given to me by my father... although I don't know him. My parents, Rhiannon and Adrian, were both mages, but died shortly after my birth due to an accident. I have a cousin called Yuuzu who is Uncle Lawrence's daughter, but I treat her like a big sister.

Grandfather says, with a weird proud look, that I and Yuuzu both look a lot like grandmother when she was young, though I can't see it besides the fact we both have bright blonde hair?

He and Uncle Lawrence raised me and Yuuzu as a weird old man team. It makes me a bit worried sometimes that I'm not very girly as a result, especially since Aria-chan isn't very girly either. S-so much so that... when I was four... I told Aria I would marry her when I grew up.

I think that I was designated as the princess’s playmate, since Grandfather is a Duke from an old family as well as the magic school headmaster. I was told I should stick to Aria, in any case, and I always tried my best, even when Aria always did things that made me cry, like playing in high places and collecting frogs from mud. I would always have to cover for her when she was naughty as well. I decided it was my job to protect her, no matter what!

I didn't realise this was quite special until I was older. I heard, later on, that I was the only girl to actually keep up with her. Despite the fact she made my early life hell… I’m still proud to be her friend. Her silver hair is crazy pretty and she's actually a very sweet and brave girl, even though she's having a teenager phase lately.

We would often talk late into the night as we grew up. Aria’s favourite stories were always about scary monsters who would kidnap princesses and the knights that would fight against them. But whilst I found them scary sometimes, Aria decided that she would prefer to be the knight rather than the princess.

So, as you can imagine… she was always getting in scrapes, so I got grandfather to give me a staff and teach me how to heal. I worked really hard, studying horrid things like blood and bones from the books in the study, and I also realised that if I ask my staff nicely while doing the incantations, he always helps me out!

Grandfather seemed really surprised when I showed him I could heal a cat with a broken leg that I found on our estate when I was ten. Though that cat was mean and scratched my hand afterwards, it still made me feel good. And grandfather said I was very skilled to make bones get better, so it made me proud I’d done something better than Aria at last!

S-so h-how can she like that man? Why!? It's pretty clear she does! He's so horrible!

I think... I think I kind of knew w-what sex was... grandfather always tried silly things to teach us, and the more naughty girls at school are always talking about what it might be like... but I... liked thinking it was something cuter. Is that so bad?
