《Land of Ilragorn》Chapter 29- A raccoons stealing the pumpkins...

The farm wasn’t far for me, but it really gave me a good look at how long the wall is.
It was at least ten miles long, on one side, and as I was going around I saw another wall being built, I guess earth magic would make it easier, but ten freaking miles on one side, how long would it take humans from Earth to do that.
I guess there is the great wall of China, but that took hundreds of years, how long is it anyway.
When the farm came into view, I was really surprised, they had these floating orb things that lightened the entire area.
The crops looked normal, mostly wheat, with carrots, beets, and cabbage to the side, and that’s just what I could see.
But one problem came into my head, the lights were pretty bright if something could get in without being spotted, does it have a stealth skill.
If so, then I don’t know how to see it besides heat vision.
I was told to meet with the farmer, just tell him I’m here, nothing special like have him sign anything.
I spot a homely looking place, straw roof, made of stone, medieval sort of building, just like everything else.
I walk past the crops on a dirt path, from what I remember a farmer gets really mad when you step on their crops.
I knock on the door with my beak, trying to imitate a normal knocking sound.
“I’m coming, hmph, oh my poor back.”
Footsteps come from the other side of the door and even a cane hitting the ground, so I expect an older man to open it.
To my surprise, there is a man no older than 35, kinda muscular, but not enough to have a full six-pack, black hair with darkish purple dots of something, and his hairstyle spikes backward like an anime characters, but his hair is wet. He is also wearing a robe of some kind like he just got out of a bath. His cane was made out of some sort of light-colored wood, kinda looked like a wizard cane, but he looks more like a warrior than a mage, whatever, he’s my client.
“What’s a filolial doing out here?”
(“Chocobo, I’m an adventurer and am going to do your quest, just thought I should let you know.”)
“Sorry, couldn’t tell, I guess they take everything as an adventurer now a day’s, you will kill the monster right?”
(“Why wouldn’t I?”)
“Because you’re a monster too. Why else would I ask?”
(“Monsters kill each other all the time, won’t matter in the long run, also, did you not notice you were talking to me, a so-called monster?”)

“Not really, I work with a fairy, he knows telepathy as well, makes it easier to talk, according to him.”
So fairies exist too, neat.
(“Where does the thieving behemoth usually show up.”)
“West field, it must like pumpkins.”
(“Thank you and goodbye.”)
“Have a good hunt.”
I run towards the field, seeing if I can get there before it does, it is already dark, so it could already be there.
I jump up to fly, trying to get a birds-eye view of the area.
Sure enough, it’s already there, stealing pumpkins, it must have some sort of storage magic or something because once they touch something and it disappears.
I check its status and it’s an LVL 38.
I have to bring its body back fairly undamaged, according to the rules.
My first option is to kick it, but that would make it suspicious if all its bones were broken, so I decide to use a fire attack first.
How I do that on a farm, I have some ideas, but it’s kinda risky.
The plan starts with me running up to it before it can react, then kicking it into the air.
I land and then it notices me, I don’t know-how, enhanced hearing maybe, but it disappears.
It just vanishes, like invisibrat, so I immediately turn on heat vision.
I was right, it has the invisibility skill, and was coming closer to me.
So new plan, hit it in the air at the last second before it tries to hit me, catch it by surprise that way.
It comes slowly, surprisingly not making any footprints, it looks like it has a lot of practice.
That thought makes this easier.
It jumps up, finally making a fast advance, but it doesn’t realize I see it.
Its claw making a wide arc down would’ve hit my neck, and if I was a normal monster, I might’ve died.
But I’m not, I have the best skills, as well as some of the greatest teachers.
I easily dodge his claws, then I jump and kick him into the air, and finish with a flamethrower, not MP boosted.
He dies, I get EXP, no level up, and Copy Entity Number gives me some INT, not a lot, and the skill, Spatial storage.
It’s kind of useless because I have the spatial bag, but if something doesn’t fit in the bag, I’ll put it in here.
I walk to the farmer to tell him I’m done and then head to the town.
Once I got to the front gate the I found that the original guard got hurt from a dragon, “a feisty LVL 50”, but I still was let inside.

This is apparently normal, but I can’t stop myself from feeling bad for him.
The city wasn’t empty, but you couldn’t really call a business day either at night either.
As always I get a few strange looks, but I got to the guild.
I went to the counter, the girl was asleep, and the guy was getting there, but seeing me woke him up a little bit.
“Were you successful?”
(“Yes.”)
“Well take it out.”
(“Um, how?”)
“Put a body part in and think about the critter.”
So I did, and then it came flying out.
The thing must have weighed a lot because it flew onto the counter and made it creak.
The guy backed up because it was big enough to have crushed him.
The girl woke up as well.
“What is this?!?!”
(“It’s the monster, right?”)
“No the thieving behemoth was LVL 15 or below, and tiny.”
(“Then, I got the wrong thing?”)
“Yes, well no, but this thing is rank B material, Freydra you have a higher analysis skill, what LVL was this?”
“LVL 38, on the verge of LVL 39.”
Then she started laughing maniacally.
“You think just because you kill a strong monster that we’ll approve of you,*hiccup*, this just proves that you can sympathize,*hiccup*, with the little baby monster because you are a baby, *hiccup*, you definitely found the baby, conceded with it and then killed this guy with it, you can’t be a, *hiccup*, adventurer.”
Everything was quiet until the guy broke the silence.
“Freydra, no wonder you were quiet, I told you not to drink any (he glanced over at me), adult juice offered to you by the adventurers, besides you were just asleep, how are you still on adult juice?”
“Whatever, all we have to do now is ban the Chocobo now.”
“Why.”
She looked shocked at the answer.
“Because he doesn’t belong, he’s a monster, duh.”
“Didn’t you swear an oath of non-bias when you joined the guild staff.”
“Oath Smoath, just kick him out.”
“I think you should go home.”
This is just a bad day for her.
“Okay, I will, it was boring here anyway, I left on my own terms, I quit.”
“You know your contract won’t let you do it, I’ll see you in the morning.”
“I ain't coming.”
“Goodbye Freydra.”
“Good night.”
She must have said that last one on instinct because she left confused.
(“So what are we going to do?”)
“We’re going to raise the quest and your rank.”
(“That easy?”)
“If you can go ten miles and kill a B-rank monster and then go back ten miles with no visible wounds, in an hour, do you really think you would stay rank D for long?”
(“I guess not, but is LVL 38 really high.”)
“It’s about average, but so are most B-ranks, and that makes a different question, what LVL are you.”
(“So how much for the B-Rank monster?”)
He stares at me,” You know you ooze trouble right, (I smile), anyway it wasn’t the quest, well it kinda was, this doesn't happen often, but it has happened, we usually just pay extra and then send them back to get the original monster.”
(“I’ll do that tomorrow, can I get paid now.”)
“You’ll get paid when you kill the monster, sorry guild policy.”
(“Okay.”)
“What?”
(“What?”)
“Well, usually people would get angry when I tell them that, but you just went with it.”
(“You’re just doing your job aren’t you.”)
He looked at me in awe.
“There need's to be people like you somewhere.”
(“What?”)
“Nevermind, see you tomorrow, you can stay here all day tomorrow.”
(“Bye.”)
Shadowstealer POV
“Why did he have to run away, I thought he would stay at her grave.”
“He must have been overpowered, master.”
“Not possible, he’s probably the strongest in this forest, besides Suvunkilbub.”
“Did Suvunkilbub fight him, master.”
“No they’re on good terms, really good, she chose him apparently.”
“Then could she have interfered, master.”
“She could have, but where is she, how would we find her?”
“Like this, *Inhale*, SUVUNKILBUB!!! Master.”
“What the hell Sholl, why did you do that, every monster in a mile radius knows where we are now.”
“If she's a mile away, she’ll come to find us, master.”
Just then a group of decent size dragons came out of the bushes in a line.
I copied one of them, and my stats more than quadrupled, life really isn’t fair.
“We have to run.”
Then a beam of light hit all of them, even curving.
Then the disgustress herself flew out into view.
She started staring at us, but didn’t say anything, she apparently can’t.
Sholl nudged me, knocking me out of a daze.
“Where is my son?”
To where the fly looked at me weird, then pointed, with one of six legs, towards the north.
“That way?”
She nodded.
“Thank you so much.”
She nodded again then left.
I fell backward.
“I was right, master.”
“You were right Sholl.”

By joining the war on the southern border. Not a war against mythical beasts or powerful demons, but against other humans. He thought that he’d finish a single deployment then come back to the castle, proud enough to stand beside his friends again.
