《From Chief to the Emperor (Rewrite)》Chapter 5: No hole is safe?

The rabbit was eaten between the two people.
Night’s face was full of comfort and satisfaction.
Edward was quite confident that this rabbit meat barbecue as definitely the first feast for the savage girl Night.
"Night, we don't need fire now, we can put it out, come, I will teach you."
He grabbed a handful of sand, sprinkled it on the fire, and smiled at the Night.
"You come and try too!"
There was a smile on the face of Night. Since the beginning of the barbecue, she had been around the fire for a while and found that the fire was really not that terrible. How could something be terrible if it allowed her to eat something this delicious?
She learned watching Edward perform, and took sand from the cracks in the cobblestones on the ground and sprinkled it on the fire. With the lack of oxygen, the fire would soon extinguish.
"Well, you can now easily handle fire if you ever have the need for."
Edward stood up, wrapped the rabbit skin around his waist.
‘Finally, there is something to cover my young brother. It’s not like I hated it or it was uncomfortable, in fact, I kinda enjoyed the openness of being nearly naked. But even then, a younger brother is a man’s most delicate organ, I need soft things to protect it.’
Night played with the fire for some time before completely extinguishing the fire. It seemed Night had surrendered to the wrath of the gods or simply gotten over her fear of wrath. Her eyes held reverence for Edward.
"Light, I will take you back to the tribe! If you are driven out from the tribe, then I am willing to leave the tribe along with you!" she said firmly.
Edward was moved but for this era, it was natural to follow someone who could provide food. Edward had proven himself as not just a provider of food but a controller of fire.
"Ha ha ha ha... I am so happy!" He laughed excitedly, he could not restrain his inner excitement, grabbed Night, and kissed her face.
Finally, he has a place to live now!
A feeling of electric shock, numbness, and crispness spread throughout his body. The rabbit skin wrapped around his waist lifted up as his younger brother offered his salute towards Edward.
Edward quickly came back to his senses and released Night.
There was a blush on Night’s face as her body shuddered slightly when Edward had held her and kissed her face. Her eyes shone with a strange light as her face broke out in a shy expression. It was obvious by now that Night had felt his younger brother saluting.

In the wild era when humanity had not yet entered the age of civilization, kissing, embracing, and the feeling someone’s younger brother was the key physical interactions that meant only one thing for a prehistoric woman, that was to reproduce with the male mate. Something vastly different from modern times where courtship included expensive gifts and even more expensive dates.
Not all mating was done during this era through a club to the head and dragging someone.
"Light, why are you here? Which tribe are you from?" she asked curiously.
"My tribe ...... is too far away from here, I can't go back." He sat down with her again.
"If I take you back, you... can you teach the tribe the way of catching rabbits and fire?" She raised up her eyebrows and looked very serious.
“How many people are there in your tribe?” he asked.
“…..”
Only silence answered him back. Surprised, he looked towards Night who had her brows creased while her dark eyes constantly looked around as if in deep thought.
Realizing something, Edward facepalmed.
‘She may not even have the concept of numbers. How the hell would she even answer me then? This will make things very difficult.’
It was just at that moment that a flock of birds flew above them, apparently disturbed by something far away. Night turned to look towards the sky, still deep in thought before finally speaking out:
“As much as them….”
Edward followed her gaze and looked up towards the flock of birds. He estimated it to be more than 30.
A tribe of more than 30 people had no problem with their own foothold. As long as they had a place to live then they could expand. As long as new people joined, Edward had a chance to develop them. People and time could even turn it into a strong civilization in the shortest time. That was the only way to survive in this era, to be at the top of the food chain. Humans were near the bottom of this pyramid at the moment.
‘Numbers…..quantity. I need quantity. A lot of things can be done faster if I have the manpower.’
From the moment when he burned that fire, something had changed inside Night.
“Night you have to think big. Not just fire or catching rabbits, in the future we might be able to eat anything in the forest. Other beasts will fear us.”
Edward laughed out loud.
Even though Edward was doing baseless boasting but it was still good to have a goal and dream.
“The entire forest? Is that even possible?” Night suddenly showed a shocked look on her face. It was understandable, the forest held a lot of beasts that were at the pinnacle of the food chain. There were many beasts humans were meant to fear in this era and just imaging about hunting them was a farfetched idea for her.

There was no way he could prove anything now so he just shook his head and asked Night to lead the way towards the tribe.
Following alongside Night, the two walked in the forest with a shallow foot. Night remained silent but her eyes were checking their surroundings as she held a look of vigilance.
After about two hours,
The breathless Edward sat down on a fallen dead tree.
"Night, let's take a break, I am really tired." He wiped some sweat on his forehead. The forest seemed to be endless, and he couldn't walk anymore. He wasn’t simply used to walking this much barefoot.
"Light, this is not the territory of our tribe, we have to leave here quickly." Night looked worried.
‘Since it is the territory of other tribes, why is she so far away from her tribe then?’
Edward was not clear, so he shook his head and had to stand up and prepare to go back on their path.
No one was sure when but the moment his butt left the dead tree, he heard a rustling sound from the surrounding trees. Soon there were more than a dozen shadows scattered around with animal skins wrapped around their waist. Savage people appeared with big sticks and stone spears in hand.
"Titan! …… RUN!" Night screamed out.
Edward could clearly see that the moment Night saw these people, she was scared.
Seeing this scene, Edward was stunned. He couldn't figure out the situation he was placed in.
The leading man had a big waist, a savage with a height of 1.85 meters, a face full of flesh. He placed the stick he held over his shoulder while licking his lips on a face that was sneering.
"Run? You think you can run out of my hand? Hahaha...."
The next few savvy primitives also laughed. Edward's eyes accidentally wandered down towards the leader’s waist, almost causing him to scream.
‘WHAT? What fierce aura, what fierce… younger brother. Is that a tree trunk or a tree log? He doesn’t even need a weapon to kill me!’
For humans of the prehistoric era, life was without farming and writing, modern people can only use imagination to fill what they mostly did. Most people, including Edward, would imagine the scene: a caveman holding a wooden club while dragging away a half-conscious woman using her hair.
But to actually be seeing something like that going to happen with his own eyes was immensely shocking to him. His eyes were wide as saucers.
Night held a desperate expression on her face as she tried to turn and run away but immediately a few people dispersed to surround her retreat.
“Night….ah…who are they?” Edward asks as he started to get nervous.
Before Night had the chance to answer, Titan, the leading savage replied:
"Hey, who is this waste? How have I never seen you before?"
At this moment, the wild savage named Titan noticed Edward, who did not seem to have looked at him before.
In contrast, the 1.75 meters, physically thin Edward, standing amongst these primitive wild people full of muscles all over their body appeared really weak.
"Titan is the leader of the forest tribe. I escaped from his hand this morning.” The fear evident in Night’s eyes.
This era was an era that followed the law of the jungle, without any order or morality.
It seemed that the beauty of the Night was seen by this brute. He only needed to use a big stick to threaten and rape on the spot. Primitive humans had no concept of rape. For them, mating was done immediately and on the spot.
‘Is this cultural shock? Right? RIGHT? I’m not the one crazy here right? What the fuck is going on here. I can’t just stand here to witness something like this!’
With the powerful logic of modern men, in an instant, Edward judged the terrible things that were about to happen.
But he couldn’t let it happen! His modern sense of morality screamed in his mind.
‘What do I do? What can I even do? Fight hard or run fast? Don’t do either and half-ass it? Sacrifice me and allow Night to escape? I’ll only be a burden to her.’
Dozens of ideas were clogging his mind but there was only one thing common…. He had to save her!
The neurons in his brains were working hard as a series of rapid ideas came to resolve the immediate crisis.
“This is the last time! I won’t let you escape this time!”
Titan’s nostrils flared out in anger.
In addition, the eight or nine people surrounding them, each held a stick in their right hand. Each of them had a smirk on their face as if enjoying the show.
The encirclement became smaller and smaller, and they did not have any possibility of escaping.
Edward knew he was fucked.
