《What LITRPG There is Only Needlework [Hiatus]》Chapter 16

Maybe I’m just crazy. A thought came to Sui she dearly wished to believe. That must be it. I spent too long working on this dress and now I can’t think straight. Heading to the bathroom Sui took of the dress and put it to the side.
After a quick shower that did nothing to relieve the exhausting Sui was feeling she stood out, dried herself and then went to go pick something out to wear to bed when as soon as the towel was put away the dress leapt to attention and placed itself on her body.
Sui rubbed the bridge of her nose. Ok. Maybe I’m even crazier than I thought. Guess I’ll have to ask Ito.
Sui lightly tapped her arm and Ito emerged… through the dress somehow. Ok… I’m not liking where this is going. Ito looked down at the outfit, up at Sui, and then back down at the outfit.
“Please tell me I’m not stuck in this oversized dress for the rest of my life” asked Sui
Ito nodded, shrugged and vanished ‘ok then I won’t tell you’
Sui slammed her hand into the wall punching it ineffectively. Dammit. Now I have to get something else done for Trina and deal with the fact the sleeves on my ‘new outfit’ are like twice the size I need them to be.
At least it was a miniskirt design. Imagine me toddling around with a dress over my feet. Sui shivered at the thought. I might not mind being short, but tracking such a good dress through the dirt as I walked ever time, I took a step. I might just have to find a wheelchair instead.
Hmm… wait maybe. Sui tried her thread control. She tried something simply, tightening the threads around her arms to make them hang somewhat less. As she started to pull on them, she found a sort of strange resistance.
Hmm… it’s a bit like I’m trying to lift myself up by my other arm. Sui tugged again, but found the outfit only shifted slightly. Gritting her teeth Sui fought down the temptation to do something stupid like lifting it with thread control.
I guess I should just head to bed then… no sense trying to worry about this now. Thought Sui with a yawn. Flopping down on her bed Sui was about to sleep when she heard a crash from the living room.

What the hell was that. Sui groaned and lifted herself tiredly back out of bed. Just as she rounded the corner though she smacked face first into something hard. “Sui you’re ok” boomed a deep yet still feminine voice.
“Aife… it’s too early for this” mumbled Sui
“Did you stay up all night sewing during the apocalypse?” asked Aife.
Sui very pointedly didn’t look up as she denied Aife’s claim. It was a shame then that Ito had other ideas. She popped out on Sui’s shoulder and nodded vigorously. “Sui… your pet spider is telling me otherwise”
Sui snapped her head to the side and glared at the traitorous arachnid, but Aife just laughed. Sui groaned and finally met her friend’s face. Well, meeting her face was a bit generous. Aife was quite close to the old viking stereotype.
Aife was tall. And compared to Sui it was a complete loss. Aife easily dwarfed normal people, and Sui’s small frame. Aife was a ridiculous 220cm’s tall (6ft 9) Sui’s face was stomach level, and Aife was happy to abuse this fact.
Aife’s hair was blonde, and cut short, not unlike Sui’s own, however whereas Sui had cut her own hair and was capable of using scissors with a great deal of skill, Aife on the other hand was not. This shouldn’t have been a problem considering hairdresser exist, but she out right refused to allow anyone to touch her hair, so it looked like someone had taken a knife to it. And, if you’d ever met Aife’s mother… that made a lot more sense than any alternative.
The rest of Aife’s body matched her height. She had broad shoulders and large muscles. She was surprisingly toned considering this fact, but Sui was aware that she’d worked very hard to reduce how noticeable her muscles were. Just three years ago, they were always in a war with her figure, but after her last growth spurt, she managed to spread them out well.
Her chest was perhaps the only thing that was modest. Of course, compared to Sui, she had ample assets, but then again… so did anyone who compared themselves to Sui. And so, the only thing that clashed with Aife’s presumed viking aesthetic was two things.
The first was her green and brown eyes, because apparently, she decided that if she couldn’t have blue ones, she’d take both of the other options. They weren’t particularly obvious, as the green was a rather dark shade leaning towards brown itself, but those who saw her regularly noticed eventually.

The second thing was her dress of choice. It was in fact a dress. The one she was wearing was one of Sui’s own creations. It had long sleaves that seemed to hug her frame, but gave plenty of motion, with a skirt that contained a considerable amount of extra fabric so that she could freely attack with her legs. Only when necessary of course.
The dress itself was a deep blue, that made the whole outfit look a little too close to robes for Sui’s liking, but Aife had quite literally walked off with it one day after seeing it on Sui’s mannequin. That she hadn’t been able finish it had irked her for some time, and only Aife’s peace offering of a new bolt of clothe placated Sui’s annoyance.
“Ok, look” said Sui “I’ll admit I did stay up but look” Sui started to manipulate the threads of her undergarments to snake their way out of her outfit. As they slithered out of her sleeves Sui caressed the thread before holding it out to Aife.
Aife quirked an eyebrow “Well, that certainly is something. I suppose I’m not surprised at all you’d go for something like that”
Aife then swiped at Sui faster than she could blink and deposited Sui on her shoulder “Welp let’s go then”
Aife strode out of Sui’s doorway with surprising speed, she was just about to leave the house when Sui said “Wait, wait wait wait. Where are we going”
Aife paused “Back to mine and Trina’s place”
“Then let me down!” said Sui suddenly agitated “You’ll be wanting to stay right? Let me get some of my sewing gear first”
Aife gave Sui a strange look “Why don’t you already have that on you?”
“What do you mean?” asked Sui
Aife quirked an eyebrow at that. Setting Sui down, Aife then made a large eski appear in front of her. “What the hell is that!” shouted Sui
If Aife didn’t already have her left eyebrow raised, she’d raise it. “What do you mean it’s clearly a cooler” said Aife
“But where the hell did it come from” said Sui
Aife glared down at Sui “You don’t know about the inventory do you.” It wasn’t a question, it was a clear statement of fact. Aife new her friend quite well. Clearly she hadn’t even bothered to find out anything about the system… not that Aife didn’t mostly have Trina to thank for that, but she certainly wasn’t going to just tell Sui that, and Sui was never going to ask how she knew.
“Inventory?” asked Sui confused
Aife spread her arms wide and then flexed in the classic body builder pose “We get five slots we can put anything we want in. Of course, we are limited by if we can lift it”
Sui’s eyes suddenly sharpened and turned calculating. She eyed Aife up and down. “How long do you have to lift it for” asked Sui
Aife was no longer liking where this was going “About five seconds… why?” asked Aife though she was already beginning to suspect the answer.
“Well then, you should be able to lift my sewing kit right?” asked Sui innocently
Aife glared at her “You mean that damnable cupboard you call a sewing kit?”
Sui’s smile shone “Yup thanks for volunteering I can’t lift it myself”
Aife sighed and walked back into Sui’s room with a despondent gait. She knew from experience it would be less painful for everyone if she just went along with Sui. She was never going to let her sewing equipment go if she didn’t have to. “Fill up the cooler than while I do this” Aife shouted over her shoulder.
Sui nodded and tried to drag the cooler closer to the fridge from the spot Aife had just left it in the doorway. To Sui’s dismay, it didn’t so much as budge. Sui eyed it suspiciously but shrugged, opening the lid before going off to raid the fridge for all it was still worth.
